Why Did Republicans Vote Against Veteran

Why do any Veterans vote Republican?

Having served, the vast majority of active duty personnel are on the conservative side of the spectrum, and they serve because they love their country, and view it as exceptional. This is an extreme contrast to public parasites that typically vote to keep liberals in power. You see, they don't tend to have anything in common with a liberal.

And it's just insane that you believe that Republicans do not support returning veterans. Absolutely no basis for that belief, but enjoy it anyway.

Why do Republicans support rape?

Oh the Al Franken amendment KBR. I think the Republicans will vote against anything a Democrat will put in front of them. The Republican party is starting to scare me, how can they wave the flag and **** over the average working American by being against health care reform and also voting against VA benefits for veterans......come on

How has the Republcan Party voted on increasing veteran benefits?

There’s been some discussion in Washington D.C. of late about cutting veterans benefits as a means of cost-cutting.This year’s budget does raise overall funding heading to veterans, but hile it’s true that this new budget will increase overall funding to the Veterans’ Affairs department, the prospective reductions in benefits to some of the most vulnerable vet groups are an unconscionable idea. A cut to the compensation these brave troops have earned by sacrificing their own health would be a grave mistake. The cuts would kick vets out of the Individual Unemployability (IU) program when they become eligible for Social Security, typically between the ages of 62 to 65. Those who already are at that age when the proposed initiative passes will lose their IU benefits immediately. While the fact that they will be switched over to a new set of benefits might sound acceptable, the reality is that Social Security benefits are frequently not enough to cover even basic living expenses. This goes especially for former service members who have been disabled for long periods of time, as they have not been paying into Social Security, meaning that these recommended changes will reduce their monthly earnings drastically, a striking blow to their quality of life. The justification for this drastic cut is part of the bolstering of the Veteran’s Choice program, which provides money for private doctor visits instead of VA hospital care. While the idea of expanding access to care is a positive one, to enact it at the price of eliminating this vital source of support is a net loss. Our veterans, a source of stability to our nation since its very inception, are having their own financial steadiness threatened by these proposed changes. It is a shameful insult to their service to have their benefits cruelly taken away when they need them most.

What percent of military veterans are democrats? Republicans?

Historically, voting by the military has been between 65-75% Republican.

This varies.

As for the actual make up of the military there are no real offical records.

This shift occured following the end of the draft and the formation of the all volunteer military.

In general, it takes a more conservative mindest to subject yourself (volunteer) to a regimented lifestyle vs the draft military in the 60-70's where it was forced on people. Even among the Democrats in the military, they tend to be on the moderate side vs. the liberal side.

Most military members that do discuss it claim independent and often share a kind of Libratarian view of things (personal responsibility.)

Why do Republicans disrespect the thousands and thousands of of Veterans who vote Democrat yet fought and died?

Because they refuse to aknowledge that the amount of liberals in the military and the amount of conservative in the military are almost identical. (38% liberal 41% conservative (rest unaligned)). They also refuse to acknowledge that in the 2008 election over 77% percent of troops supported Obama and this year with the exception of Ron Paul (God knows why) he receives the most campaign contribution from the military over their guy Mitt.)

Why because as 4 star General, former NATO Commander Wes Clark(former Democratic Candidate for President) said they want to hold the Flag, the Country and Patriotism hostage. They convince people they OWN those things to mask the fact that they don't do a damn thing. Nor do the do anything for the actual troops fighting or the Vets that come back.

And to Kenneth Noisewater those same people that spit on returning VETs are the people who are populating the Republican Party who in the 80's gave up all their supposed "beliefs" and went running to Reagan. Overwhelming the NEO-COnservative party has support from that very generation and those people.

And Jakers- BUSH only ever made any public acknowledgement or commemoration of D-day 2 times in 8 years. Simple fact D-day is at a point in history (though everyone should remember) where there are only official commemorations on milestone years. And the 65th year Obama went to Normandy.

And BS you won't find conservatives disrespecting Military. I have seen it with my own eyes and those saying Dems in the Military are a joke. My husband has been to the gulf 3 times and you call him a joke because of his political affiliation (That right there is the disrespect you say conservatives don't do). Who is a joke BUSH....... Joined Guard and marked not willing to serve overseas duty. Cheney 6 deferments despite he kept failing out of school and 1 expectant father deferment, Well My father-in-law when my mother in law was expecting was drafted and sitting his liberal butt on a plane to Vietnam. Rush Limbugh....pilonidal cyst unfit to serve really. I could keept going and going.

ANTI Censorship. You need to read the USMC times a bit more.

All the thumbs down doesn't change the reality of what I said being true.

Were there any veterans that voted for Hillary Clinton?

The answer to the question, even before it was asked, should have been obvious, even if it was only one, or a million and one. First, Secretary Clinton got millions of more votes than Donald Trump. Second, both candidates were flawed, but Donald Trump went out of his way to expose more of his flaws every day on the campaign trail. Third, as the one gentleman has already pointed out (indirectly), many would rather vote for the experienced, intelligent, perhaps even a little too slick candidate who may be honestly disdainful of the military rather than the ignoramus who alternates between faux reverence and vitriolic attacks on veterans, gold star families, and constantly displays his ignorance and disrespect of the military, and uses its members, from privates to generals, as props solely for his own political gain.Keep in mind, also, that, polarizing as the last several years have been, the military community contains democrats and republicans, but also libertarians, socialists, satanists, and fierce independents. (The penultimate category has nothing to do with politics, however.) For many of these, the quality of the candidate does not depend on the party label after their name. I am sure several have voted for candidates from both parties over the years. No institution or collection of people is totally monolithic. Besides, where would be the fun in that?
