Why do friends DISAPPEAR?

I know men disappear all the time but usually after a few months of knowing you. Do male friends usually disappear after 5 yrs without a trace? Seems really inconsiderate not to say goodbye.

Ok we were friends for a few years, then we had a brief sexual relationship, then we both got bf/gfs and went back to being friends.

Please don't say get over him and move on because we stopped having sex a long time ago. Its only friendship. But I miss him. Problem is I feel soooooo awkward getting in touch with him. I'm afraid he might think Im still into him and embarrass the both of us or he might think he's cooler than me or something.

It shouldnt be this complicated but I feel there was a miscommunication somewhere. I wonder if he just thought I was the one who disappeared? People keep telling me to let it go. But do you really let your close friends just go???

If he has a new gf now why would that stop him from being my friend now and he always was before? Im so confused. My ego has let 3 months pass without contacting him but on the other hand my fear has reminded me that friendship is a two-way street, whats his deal? THEN my guilty consciensce says I hope he isn't dead!

I was all ready to text him and I read some quotes from a book saying that men who disappear are telling you they don't want you in their life... is it always so clear-cut? Cant there be OTHER reasons why they disappear??

Men who have disappeared after knowing someone for years, why did you do it? Any circumstance.

How did the pirates disappear?

It's not so much that the pirates went somewhere and have not been seen since, so much as piracy itself became less popular and successful.

The Navies of various countries started to become more effective against them as they built more ships and there were more trained sailors to man them, which made it harder for pirates to operate. Law and order in the areas where pirates traditionally had their strongholds also became more prominent and it was becoming harder for pirates to set up bases to operate. So fewer and fewer pirate crews were able to survive and many started to give up or retreat, as the Navy became more powerful. In the end they just couldn't compete.

Other strongholds of piracy also became weaker as well. For instance the Barbary States, loyal to the Ottoman Empire, used to send out pirates to capture and enslave ship crews, and for a while they were powerful enough to get away with it. However, the US refused to put up with this and the European powers soon followed, and they were able to field more ships and men than the Barbary states, and defeated them. The French eventually conquered these territories themselves, putting an end to the matter.

Remember that pirates were basically criminals and in this case, the cops (or the navy, to be precise), eventually proved to be too strong for them. That said, piracy does exist to this day in some parts of the world, particularly off the coast of Africa, although once again, naval action is starting to make it difficult for them to operate there as well. These days, modern ships are too big and complex to steal much of value, so pirates now try to capture their crews for ransom. However, shipping companies are increasingly hiring out armed security and naval intervention is being used.

There are a number of theories as to why, one of the big theories is the fact that Many feel Qui-Gon hadn’t discovered the technique yet….Another could be the manner to which he perished….I want to believe that Qui-Gon just didn’t plan for it…I think there is a technique before battle that Jedi go through, and he didn’t do it. I am sure the technique is performed on the fly (Obi-Wan did it)…Yoda didn’t go into combat but he joined because of the rank he achieved in the Old Republic Jedi Order…Yoda is a Jedi Grandmaster and he joined with the Force in 4 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin) and .1 BBE (Before the Battle of Endor)…In Non Canon (Legends) Mara and Skywalker had discussed joining with the Force when they pass but because Mara was murdered Sacrifice (novel) - Wikipedia..Mara didn’t join because she wanted her death investigated. That’s why I believe it’s a technique…In The Last Jedi, 34 ABY or 30 ABE, Luke tussled with Ben Solo (Kylo Ren)…but it was a Force projection of himself….Luke used up his energy with that projection and joined with the Force after giving The Resistance a chance to escape….This is excerpted from Wikipedia and Wikipedia retains all if any copyrights:Luke appears and confronts the First Order to enable surviving Resistance members to escape. Kylo orders the First Order's forces to fire on Luke, to no effect. He then engages Luke in a lightsaber duel; upon striking Luke, Kylo realizes he has been fighting a Force projection of him. Rey uses the Force to help the Resistance escape on the Falcon. Luke, exhausted, becomes one with the Force and dies peacefully on Ahch-To. Rey and Leia sense his death, and Leia tells surviving rebels that the Resistance has all it needs to rise again. At Canto Bight, one of the children who helped Finn and Rose escape grabs a broom with the Force and gazes into space.

Star wars: why did yoda and obi wan kenobi disappear after they died?

The implication is that they didn't know how. There is a cut scene in episode 3 where Yoda tells Obi Wan that Qui-gon figured out how to become one with the force, yet retain his consciousness, so that he could come back and continue to influence events. Qui-gon teaches the technique to Yoda, who then passes it on to Obi Wan. This is what Obi Wan is talking about when he tells Vader, "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine," in episode IV. Essentially, Obi Wan gains the ability to continue to help Luke, but without any of the constraints of a living body. "What, you need me to check with Yoda, on the other side of the galaxy to see if the package arrived? Hold on, I'll be right back. Yup, Yoda got it. He says thanks for the Christmas card..."
