should we take their reality into consideration ? yes. will religion that proselytise will do it? does not look like it. both major religions in world today are the religions which call their own beliefs to be only truth. christianity do not get converts till they finish off the local culture. for accepting ancesters of iserilies as their own or accepting jesus as only saviour etc will not go with native beliefs. christianity will not accept any native belief as it is not written in bible thus false by default. somebody asked a question on YA why christian missionaries destroyed local culture. most people said their soul was more important than culture. that is the mind set by organized religions. same goes for islam. there was a time when buddhist have done similar things. though few buddhists used actual sword they used other mean methods extensively. they tried to malign hindu avatars. they actually invited foreign invaders to attack indian kings more than once. the fault of the king was that he did not converted to buddhism. they just got boomranged when last muslim invader they invited did not converted to buddhism as others had done. instead all buddhist area of india is now muslim majority area. from afganistan to bangladesh. point is those seeking converts can go to any extent. they may even think there are doing a favour. or just feel superior and that they had hit the jackpot. there being charitable by collecting useless local currency and giving them real money. whatever. Amy is right when she said native cultures are doomed. You know my parents and other older relatives say there was a time that every mango tree had a different flavour. all good in their own way. mango seed was used to grow new plants. and each plant used to be unique depending upon the soil and neighbouring environment . growing plants by seed took more time and resultant taste might not have desired taste. then the era of Kalami mango came. and most of the varieties disappered. just because they used stems from a single tree for whole gardens. now there are hardly 5 or 6 types and all of them taste the same. but there is not much we can do. most flavours are already lost .

I do not argue, I simply state my opinions, never to be meant as rude. Some people are not as open minded, enlightened, educated, etc. On an aside though, do not expect a Christian to respond well to the term "infidel."
