Why Did The Gullible Libbies Believe The Fake Study About Fox News

Should we be taking Alex Jones seriously?

In the sense that the things he says are true? No. In the sense that the things he says are important? Yes.During the Bush administration, there was a 0% chance that any mainstream outlet was going to take Alex seriously. Because he hated the president, hated the war on terror, hated the surveillance state, and denounced all three — rightly overall, but in the most hysterical terms.I kind of think the election of Obama changed Alex. He went from being a nonpartisan anti-establishment libertarian to someone who was mainly just anti-Obama. He started to mix fundamentalist Christianity in with the paranoid government conspiracies. He started selling supplements. Then he discovered that Donald Trump was like rocket fuel for his viewership. In short, Alex used to be a fringy political cowboy shouting into a bullhorn. But, almost magically, his support for Trump catapulted him into the mainstream. Now, things he says get parroted by Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Jeanine Pirro — even the president himself. You used to have to watch InfoWars if you wanted to see someone attack survivors of a school shooting. Now Fox News is doing the same exact schtick, just dialled down a bit and repackaged for old people.Alex Jones is patient zero of Republican paranoia, ignorance, and projection.
