Why Did The Refs Have The Patriots Repeat That 3rd Down

What are the less known factors that underlie the Patriots longterm N.F.L. dominance?

Although I am a Miami Dolphins fan and I hate the Patriots more than any other team but I have to admit, what the Patriots have accomplished is something that the other 31 teams should aim to achieve. But to answer your question, its the following■ Smart drafting. While other N.F.L. clubs put together blockbuster trade-ups seeking publicity, the Patriots consistently trade down to stockpile picks. Belichick views the draft as a lottery — the more tickets, the better.■ No general manager. At many N.F.L. clubs, the coach and general manager engage in conflict regarding who gets credit or takes blame. The Patriots avoid this distraction by not having a general manager.■ Focus on the job. Over at division rival Buffalo, players openly denounce the coaching staff (Mario Williams), rip into the officials(Nickell Robey) and have their agents call the front office to demand special treatment (Sammy Watkins). The last time a series of events like that happened under Belichick was — never.■ Mechanized personalities. With the exception of Rob Gronkowski, Patriots tend not to say or do anything to seek attention. No matter how many points they win by, Patriots usually go out of their way to praise opponents. Ownership, coaches and players plainly despise the press corps, but would never be so ill-mannered as to say so. Politicians prepping for congressional committees should study New England news conferences.■ Belichick could not possibly care less what anyone thinks of him. This is not a good character trait in a friend or public official. This works as an N.F.L. trait.■ Opponent-specific game plans. The Jets have the league’s best run defense. Sunday, adjusting for sacks and scrambles, Josh McDaniels radioed in 59 passing plays and seven rushes. No N.F.L. team does a better job at tailoring tactics to the opponent. Finally, New England players are always moving. For all the money and hype in the N.F.L., for all the year-round focus, it’s amazing how many downs feature at least one guy standing there doing nothing. Run back any snap of any team other than New England and look away from the ball — someone will be not pursuing, not blocking, just standing around watching. At New England, players never seem to stand around watching. Maybe Belichick gives them electric shocks if they don’t endlessly hustle. However accomplished, he gets more effort than any other N.F.L. coach.

Why did the Seahawks pass on the 1 yard line?

To keep Marshawn Lynch from getting MVP because of his silence with the press so, instead they have Russell Wilson throw it.

Why do people laugh at conspiracy theories?

I find it almost insane considering all the conspiracies that are now fact
maybe these delusional tube brains should google water gate or Clinton saying I did not have sexual relations with that woman. I think we have a society of cowards who would rather other people think for them as they don`t have the guts to deal with a disturbing truth. The question is simply asking why people find it hard to accept people in power lie people always lie whats so weird about that

McCarthyism's effects?

Absolutely!

McCarthyism taught the Governement that fear is an effective tool for garnering support and maintaining political power. Both decades, the 50s and today, have resulted in severe loss of civil liberties and the exploitation of fear. The parallels are phenomenal. For instance:

House of Un-American Activities Commission= Department of Homeland Defence

McCarthy's Blacklist= Terror Lists

McCarthy's Abuse of Power= the Patriot Act

McCarthyist and the current adminstration both suspended heapeus corpus, detained innocent people, projected fear, increased American militarism, acted alone, spent foolishly, negatively affected American foreign relations, and much much more. It seems as if the government learned nothing from the McCarthy Era of terror.

What I am about to say is offensive to many; still yet, it is as true as the sky is blue. Americans have very little historical perspective. 3,000 Americans deaths on 9/11 was terrible, but not unprecedented. Three million Africans will die of malaria this year alone. Next year, 8 million people will die of needless hunger and preventable disease.

Nations have been victims, including this one, of terrorist attacks for centuries. If we are willing to sacrifice civil liberties to allow the government to give us a false sense of security, then maybe we deserve our future plight. However, I'd like to think American's are more intelligent than that. Let's hope we can gain some historical perspective and not over react the next time freedom is attacked, regardless if it is attacked by terrorists or power hungry Republicans and Democrats...
