Why Did The Republicans Vote To Take Away Food Stamps From 170 000 Veterans Last Week

Why did the GOP cut food stamps for 170,000 veterans?

They literally believe that by cutting a $4.45 daily allowance in food stamps for the poor elderly, children, working poor, and disabled vets will give them the proper incentive to go out and create good jobs.

They think food stamps make people lazy, enslaves them to the government, and just another way for Democrats to buy votes.

What they don't realize is that children, the elderly, disabled are not prime workers, and the working poor are already working.

How many federal regulations are there in the United States?

https://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R43.... Congressional Research Service paper about the Federal Register.First, no one has an absolutely definitive count.Second, the Federal Register gives a reasonable basis for modern estimates.75,000 pages of fine print per year, with more than 5,000 significant sets of rules per year on average, taking up roughly 30% of the pages … since 1975 this comes to on the order of 200,000 major rules, using on the order of 800,000 pages of fine print. This does not count minor rules and regulations not placed in the Federal Register. The Tax Code alone with its explanatory texts was on the order of 70,000 pages, though some pointed out that only 2,600 pages or so made up the actual law, and the rest simply tried to translate those broad rules into practical sub-rules.The Tax Code is one of the simpler sets of regulations … an apple grower faced When Picking Apples on a Farm With 5,000 Rules, Watch Out for the Ladders 5,000 regulations just to produce and sell apples!Short answer:No one knows. There are roughly 200,000 pages dealing with “major regulations” but the minor ones do not even get published in the first place. The FDA alone https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR... in May 2016 used up 259 pages on “food labeling”.

Is Donald Trump incompetent?

He is not. He is the ‘‘stable genius’.He was the first person to be awarded the Nobel Prize on ‘being a genius’. A rare category only formed after he was born.He was the first American to graduate ‘successfully’ from Harvard. His businesses worldwide are all part of MBA case studies. There can’t be a businessman like him in the future. Because it’s simply not possible compared to the work he has done so far.He has carefully and intelligently fired and replaced many of his close people since he has taken oath for Presidency. Don’t forget that his daughter, sons and son-in-law are still there. Not a coincidence, it’s just because they are as brilliant as him. Stop, questioning his genes. He was the creator of all the skyscrapers present in NY city today. Rest of them that came later in the 20th century were all copying his ‘genius’ idea.He was the first and only person till date to be nominated for Oscars, Emmy, Golden Globes, Time- Person of the year and so much more in the same year.He was the first person who revolutionized American reality TV. In those years when he was hosting, reality TV had such high ratings that they could not be compared to reality TV of all the worlds channels, even today. He became the first President ever to come to power by his own ‘genius’ strategy. He also won the popular vote in the 2016 elections but media is so ‘Fake’ that they never tell you the right statistics. His work on Twitter is a work of sheer genius and something that everybody should learn from. Each tweet he sends has supremely worded, carefully thought and with 100% right grammar. Oh, you should love it too!By his sheer genius he made ‘‘The Art of Deal’ and his several other books a work of pure intelligence. Something as brilliant as The Vinci, Shakespeare and other big legends.Last but not the least, he was made a competent person because of the person who stood by him always like Miz Conway, Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller and many more geniuses. Not to forget all those geniuses who brought him to power. They are the real heroes.Mr. President, I deserve a job in the White House now.

In January 2015, 564,708 people were homeless in the US. Fifteen percent (83,170) are considered "chronically homeless”. The government spent $2.9 billion for programs in 2009. Why is there still homelessness in the United States?

As someone who was previously homeless I would say it is complex and there are many different reasons why there are homeless people in this nation. There is no one reason that applies to the whole community.I would say the major variables in homelessness are primarily unresolved mental health issues and substance abuse problems.I had a combination of both PTSD from Combat deployments and a difficulty re-integrating back into society. Also drinking way too much prevented me from keeping any meaningful employment. I would say a significant portion of the homeless population is homeless due to these reasons.Another major factor that can contribute to homelessness is a serious lack of family support structure. Its really true that only blood gives a shit about you. If your parents / relatives are gone or unable to help you, or have been way too fatigued by you to help you you are screwed. When I got out of the Army I settled in a different part of the country than where I was from because where I was from was a rather economically depressed area. I moved to where the jobs are. But I had no significant support structure to fall back on. nobody really to monitor my integration or lack of it into society.further, there is a small minority of people on the street maybe 10% who really like living on the streets as like a modern hobo. Its a lifestyle to them. Many of them also have substance abuse issues as well but fit into a different category because they don't want help off the street. On the alleged government resistance to housing homeless. I can't really speak to that. But I know was someone who has been paying for his own rent for a while now, I would be resistant to having IV drug users and other homeless people housed in my area because it makes upper middle class activists feel better about themselves.Yes perhaps it is hypocritical but I work for what I have and I don't like the feeling I get when I come home and my home has been ransacked by unemployed neighbors. Housing must be paired with mental health services addiction services and meaningful employment that occupies their free time and builds self respect. I was lucky to have the VA as a resource to get mental health employment and eventually housing.Just like there is not one reason people are on the street, there is not just one solution. That being "housing" it must be employment and mental health as well.

Do pro-gun people think they can fight off the US military?

What I’m about to say is my opinion after thinking about this carefully. It’s also the result of sitting through gun control debates in several college classes. The military doesn’t want to fight gun owners. And, why would progun folks want to fight the military? For what it’s worth, I don’t know many American service members who would fire on American civilians or American irregular forces. They would be aiming at their families, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and more, or, citizens that would fire on thier own Fathers, sons and daughters that are the military.I’m a veteran and I would never fire on Americans. We swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Against all enemies, foreign and domestic. We didn’t swear to support and defend the government. There are many who feel the same way I do. Plus, there are tons of veterans, survivalists, cops, casual gun owners, hunters, and more who would be a headache to try and deal with. If insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan could bloody our noses, imagine what the people I listed above would do.So tanks, drones, fighter planes, howitzers, Apache helicopters, nuclear subs would be useless if most of the military defects. The government wouldn’t do so well either if those weapons and things were turned against them. I also wonder if police departments would turn on their people as well. My guess is no. There are a few police departments who claimed that they wouldn’t support a gun grab if it was mandated federally. So, while some pro-gun people may think they can fight off the US military, they will probably never get the chance because it would take a large well armed group that could surpass the firepower of the local police, county sheriff's office, FBI, and ATF which is about the only way they would ever get to fight the military. But let’s be clear, there are millions of Americans who are law abiding citizens that own guns and have no ill intentions with them and have never thought “I could take on the U.S. Military with this colt .45”
