Why Did They Not Keep The Original Cast In The Amazing Spiderman Movie

Is the movie "The Amazing Spider-Man" good or not?

In my opinion, I don’t consider The Amazing Spider-Man a good movie. I thought that Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Peter Parker was wrong. He was too cool and introduced incorrectly. E.g., Peter tried to stop Flash Thompson from beating up a kid during lunch, when he should have been the kid getting beat up by Flash. Garfield’s Spidey brushed me the wrong way and I thought he came off as a jerk as opposed to Tobey Maguire’s and Tom Holland’s take on the character as being funny yet innocent. This film was too dark and it seemed to be living in the shadow of The Dark Knight with its slightly darker tone, which is not the right move to make for a character like Spider-Man and especially for this first film in the poorly conceived reboot.Marc Webb’s movie also badly redid what Sam Raimi’s films accomplished. For example, Uncle Ben’s lesson on responsibility and the impact of his death. Those two elements fueled Pete to become the webslinger and how it was done by Webb was completely rushed, forced, and did not have the same emotional gravity that the first Raimi film possessed.Furthermore, The Amazing Spider-Man was just the first of two films that were not exactly made for the fans, but rather as an excuse for Sony to retain the rights to Spider-Man. Had there not been trouble in rewrites for Raimi’s potential Spider-Man 4 script, the rush to reboot the Spidey films would not have happened.

The amazing spiderman vs the original spiderman movies?

Which do you think is better? I honestly think the original movies were better, everything was absolutely perfect until they made the new ones(even though I still like the amazing spiderman)

Theres a a new spiderman movie The Amazing Spider man, why??they already had?

Sony decided to reboot Spider-Man because Sam Raimi totally f**ked up Spider-Man 3.

Trust me, if you're a true fan of the Spider-Man comics. You'll be happy te rebooted the series. Sam Raimi's films missed on so many levels.

Mark Webb's film is much more accurate to the comics and I'm glad. I'm glad Mary Jane isn't in this film, or J Jonah Jamesson. Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first love. A tragic love story for those who remember her death at te hands of the Green Goblin tossing her off of the Brooklyn Bridge. Spidey desperately trying to save her, catching her and realizing she's dead. Blaming himself thinking his webs killed her. I hope she dies in the next film.

The Amazing Spiderman vs Spiderman?

I agree, I liked Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man was ok, and Spider-Man 3 was terrible.
I love both of the Amazing Spider-Man movies, they are just better in literally every way.
People get very defensive over the original movies, I think because those are the movies they grew up with, and since most of them have never bothered to read the comics, Tobey Maguire was the only Spider-Man they ever knew, and now that it's different they refuse to let themselves like the new movies, but the fact is that they are just better.
Honestly, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst (mostly Kirsten) were TERRIBLE actors in those movies... in other movies they're not bad, but they just sucked in the Spider-Man movies for some reason. I much prefer Andrew and Emma, they're just much more natural and believable.

Spiderman (2002) Vs The Amazing Spiderman!?!?

I really enjoyed them both. Emma Stone was a great Gwen Stacy, Surprise to see who played Uncle Ben and Aunt May. I thought both were great and it was good to see Peter's Parents and how he came to the care of Aunt and Uncle.

Amazing Spider Man v. Spider-Man?

Is it just me or is the orig. spider man cast better than the amazing spider man cast? Aunt May, the Uncle Ben, The nerdy peter parker from the original, Red Head Mary Jane. All are better than the amazing spider man cast.

Am I the only who one who thinks The Amazing Spider-Man is an overrated movie?

Wow I agree with you. I love Spiderman 1 and 2 so much better. They were my childhood favourites because I was just so awed by the films. Maybe it was because I was really young and impressionable, but I remember that selfless vibe given out by that old Spiderman.

“The Amazing Spiderman is amazing.” Erm… not true. Not even after watching it three times in theatres. They say this reboot followed the comics and original characters more closely, but I don’t know the comics so I don’t really care.

As usual, I totally overhyped myself where this movie is concerned because the trailer looked so good. Not to mention that the leads were so perfect and my favourite people. What could possibly go wrong and how could it, right? But it did and I was left sorely disappointed. I just didn’t feel the same vibe from my childhood…

Basically it was just a generic superhero action flick. Nothing outstanding and not a movie I would keep thinking about afterwards. Also, Spiderman took off his mask way too much!!! I felt like Spiderman’s character arc wasn’t very well-done either. It felt like he was only being Spiderman because he felt a responsibility to do so, and not because he genuinely wanted to. Even up till the end. Plus why was he such a goof? Especially when he had just discovered his powers.

Though the movie had its redeeming points as well. Some shots were really stunning, such as the funeral scene with the rain and black umbrellas. And all the lights and skyscrapers. Etc etc. Favourite quotes include, “We all have secrets: the ones we keep… and the ones that are kept from us.” and “Don’t make promises you can’t keep… but those are the best kind.”
