Why Didnt I Speak To Her

She is mad because I didn't speak first?

Sidenote: We was texting about stuff and she got mad at me.She didn't reply to msg for a whole week. I only see her once a week. When i saw her i didn't say anything because I thought she was still mad at me. I didn't want to make things worse. I was waiting to see if she would say something first. It was like we both was ignoring each other. Finally I said hi to her and she didn't say anything back. She told me she was mad because I could have been spoke to her. I told her i don't always have to speak first. She said she wasn't mad anymore later. Why was she mad though ?

My mom won't speak to me? EASY 5 POINTS!?

I first want to start off by saying that I'm 16 years old. Now, my mom won't speak/talk to me at all because of something very stupid. We always had arguments in the past that were more serious than this and in the end we still talked to each other. I also have a younger brother who is 5 years old so I'm the oldest. (I'm a guy).

Now getting into why she won't talk to me. I always wanted a different phone because I always had a crappy phone. So, this past Monday my stepdad, mom, myself & my younger brother went to Bestbuy to get the iphone 6+. I was so excited to get it, and I finally got it. Now my mother has an iphone but it's the 4s. So I guess when I got the 6+ she was jealous or whatever, which when I think about it, it's pretty immature. She's a grown woman & shouldn't be acting that way. )By the way, I paid for it entirely myself because I have a job.) So we went to another Bestbuy & to make a long story short, she couldn't get it.

So she asked me if she could see my phone in the car & I was kind of reluctant to let her see it at first, but I ended up letting her see it. The reason I told her no at first was because I was excited to finally have my new phone & before I had that new phone, I always asked her in the past if I could see her phone and she told me verbatim "No, it's my phone not your's. Go get your own phone." And she was always mean about it.

Why didn't early immigrants continue to speak their own language but the recent immigrants show an emphasis to teach their native language to their children?

This assumption is absolutely and obviously false. Why do Americans speak English? Because the immigrants spoke it…And many other languages have been spoken in the United States: German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Polish, Italian, Yiddish, French, etc. One reason most of those aren’t widely spoken today is that it has been many generations since large numbers of immigrants spoke those languages (so today the most common languages spoken by immigrants are Spanish, Chinese, etc.), but that’s just a demographic question, not a linguistic one. What seems to happen with immigrant languages is that they disappear after a few generations unless there is a relatively stable or large (or isolated) population. The Amish have preserved Pennsylvania German because they are relatively isolated from English speakers. But most other varieties of American German have faded away after a few generations of separation from Europe, as the populations blend into English speakers. (One big shift from the earliest European immigration to America is the effect of public education in English.)The first generation immigrants of course speak the language, and usually their children also speak it natively (sometimes called the “1.5 generation” because they may have arrived as young children or been born into a foreign-language-speaking home, and they are in a sense ‘between’ languages). But after that, the second generation is less likely to teach the language to the third, and so forth. It can happen, but statistically is less likely. And so we see the older immigrant languages fading out because there are fewer immigrants today from those countries. Once children learn the local/official language natively, they can use it fluently just like any speaker without any potential communication barrier, so they are less likely to fall back on their heritage language even if they remain bilingual, and may only use that language for identity/cultural reasons, perhaps talking to family, maybe not every day. Soon it becomes a secondary language, and then fades away into forgotten linguistic heritage after a few generations. The same could eventually happen to Spanish (and other languages) if demographic immigration trends shift again.Note: I interpret the implication of this question to be that it’s about the United States of America, so that’s how I wrote the answer. But in general I suppose this would apply anywhere with relevant immigrant populations.

Should I try speaking to her again?

Hey, so I met this girl in my class over a year ago now. I added her on Facebook and I think she began to like me, I would catch her looking at me often , being around me alot and she even started a small conversation once.
This went on all year, but with things slowly "dropping off". I definitely think she isn't as interested as she was, but I still catch her looking at me, but looks away very quick and it seems rather "secretive" about looking.

She is quite shy and clever too, so I don't know if she is finding it hard to stop liking me or something like that... Would it be worth telling her how I feel, if so, what should I say? Or is it one of those things I should leave?
The only thing is, we only spoke that once (we were never in a situation to talk more) and things seem abit awkward now, but I would really like to speak to her properly, how would I do this?

Thanks, any extra advice would be helpful.

Why didn't Anne Frank write her diary in German?

Anne Frank was born in 1929 in Germany. In 1933, at the age of 4, she emigrated to The Netherlands. She wrote the book in Dutch between 1942 and 1944, when German was at best a distant memory to her. A Dutchman betrayed her and her family for a miserable amount of money on Aug. 4th 1944.Partly due to the celebrity of Anne Frank, people tend to think that The Netherlands was one of the safest havens for Jews. However, 75% of Dutch Jews, many of whom had been part of Dutch society in large numbers for many centuries, didn’t survive. Hollands very dense population, was one reason for the successful betrayal of many hidden Jews. The cash the Nazi occupiers paid ‘per head’ had seemed to be an efficient incentive.Anne Frank died in Bergen-Belsen at the end of 1944 or in the first months of 1945.There have been lots of discussions about the authorship of Anne Frank. Many people (even scholars) didn’t believe she could have written the diary between the ages of 13 and 15. The generally accepted truth is that the only surviving family member, her father Otto Frank, having come back home alone, had corrected spelling and grammar mistakes. This can now be checked, as reliable science is now available to prove the authenticity of the diary.

How to get over the fact that I didn't approach her?

I have had a long time crush that I liked for 5 years. 5 years ago she was a new student in high school. It took her a couple of weeks for her to notice me. She would always make deep passionate eye contact with me for several seconds for almost everyday for about 3 years ( but never talked). She is shy; like me. I couldn't work up the nerve to talk to her. When high school ended I thought I blew it, but luckily we went to the same community college. I thought it would be easier to go talk to her, but time passed and I thought she didn't like me anymore. When ever I see her guys try to flirt with her, but she doesn't pay attention to them, but when I am around she looks to talk to the guys. She would quickly talk to them which made me mad. When I pass by her when she's by herself she would always look down, looking sad. I played around with girls. But she is what I ever think about. Now school has ended and I never made a move and now it has devastated me? Any advice please?

Why didn't Hillary Clinton address her supporters on election night?

I think the composite of the other three answers I see pretty much covers the field: she was totally taken by surprise, she was too emotionally distraught to put together a good presence, and she wanted to say the right things when she spoke, so she and her speechwriters had to do some revamping.I think it must’ve been awfully difficult for her to make the very generous speech that she made without any sniping at Trump, calling for all Americans to support their new president, and admitting that she was bitterly disappointed. And to do that without having her tone, attitude, facial expressions, even the set of her shoulders, not betray her may have been more than she could have managed last night. It’s also possible that there was some strategizing to decide whether to call for recounts or court battles, given that she did win the national vote.

I saw the most beautiful girl today, but I didn't do anything about it...?

Today two friends and I were at the store and this girl that worked there smiled at me, I smiled back, then I didn't do anything else. My friends kept telling me to go up and talk to her, but I just froze up! I didn't know what to do or what to say. So of course they questioned my manhood and told me that I'll have to talk to her next Saturday. I really want to talk to her, but I have no idea what to say. I'm thinking about going into the store and looking at the products and wait for her to come up and ask if I need help then just start a conversation from that. Do you have any better ideas? Do you have any advice on how I can prepare myself from chickening out a week from today? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
