Why Do All Child Celebrities Lose Their Minds

Why do all child celebrities lose their minds?

I think they have a better chance if they come from well adjusted families. You can't say that about Miley, Lindsay, Bieber, Britney. Their parents just fight with each other and shamelessly use their children for a pay cheque.

Some child entertainers end up taking their own parents to court to get themselves legally emancipated, because their parents are just robbing everything from them.

Those are the types who usually seem to go off the rails, but it's a generalization. Some just go off the rails anyway from drugs and too much partying, they become targets of enablers and don't have the life experience or maturity to avoid harmful influences.

It seems to be a Hollywood thing, in other countries child stars tend to turn out more stable, though some still have trouble.

Why give your child a weird name?

I know people who do it must think that they're all celebrities, but why not have some common sense? As a parent, my goal is to not have my kid beat up in school. Naming your child something weird and defending it by calling it unique is a reflection upon you. Not only do the kids at school think your child is weird, the parents look at you like a nutcase saying "Why would you do that?" I'll give you credit, you gave your child a unique name, but it's unique because it's weird. I'm asking this because I ran into a copycat at my daughter's school who's parents named their son Orange! really? There are perfectly normal unique names you can use. Yes I said unique and normal in the same sentence because it's possible. Sorry for the rant there, just answer me why? Why name you kid something weird like Wrench, Orange, Diesel, or Sunshine?

Has Mel Gibson gone insane? Has he completely lost his mind?

He's a bigot. Also, he's rich enough now to not care about "ruining his career".
I just wonder how the Christians who thought he was sooooo awesome for taking on Hollywood by making Passion feel now... pretty pretty pretty (Curb) stupid I presume.

Why do people find humor in Tragedy?

Angela,I wish I knew the answer because I wonder the same thing.Sometimes I think that our children are exposed to so much when they are young, violent movies, video games and even the nightly news that they sometimes have a hard time knowing what is fiction and what is real.In the case of Steve Irwins death, even though we as a society are naturally curious,I think it shows a lack of respect for a fellow human being to want to watch his death on tape. This is reality, not a hollywood movie.I put myself in the family's place and try to imagine how I would feel if it were my loved one that was being viewed in his last moments on earth. That is why I am so vocal about this subject.I didn't know the man and hardly ever seen him on TV,but it is just the idea that we should have a little compassion.I bet those who are so vocal about really wanting to see the tape would be the first ones to cry and complain if it were their father or son that was being viewed in one of most vulnerable moments in our lives. We as parents have the responsibility to instill some morals and compassion in our children. If we don't do it when they are young, they won't learn it on their own when they get older.Little things mean alot, buy a gift for a less fortunate child at Christmas, volunteer some time at the local nursing home with people who never get a visitor.I did these with my son when he was young and I think he turned out to be a very caring person. He is 19 and would never watch the Steve video,he said it would be too sad.Our society has become so "me" focused, thinking we are entitled to have whatever we want, weather or not that causes hurt to another.Just my opinion. Thanks for the great question.

What do you think about Charlie Sheen?

What a sad case this is, but just another round of rehab is not what Charlie Sheen needs. It's my understanding that he has been through several trips to rehab already. He is going to have to hit rock-bottom and hit it hard. It certainly sounds like he is already there, but his misery can get much worse. I think he needs urgent REAL medical care. The media is having a field day making him out to be a complete a$$, but I think he is crying out for help. His family needs to stage a true intervention and get him some REAL help (and I don't mean those extravagant country club rehabs that other celebrities check into) NOW.

I have to disagree with Kelly, who said that junkies end up in one of two places: prison or the morgue. Yes, there are many "old junkies" around that are clean and sober. Drug addiction is treatable and many recovered addicts live full, productive lives (though the potential for relapse is great). I think Robert Downey Jr. is one celebrity example who has been to hell and back and (seems) to be living clean and sober now. I truly hope Charlie makes the same come-back and gets healthy....for his sake, as well as his childrens'. I hope he doesn't wind up being another statistic, like Anna Nicole or Curt Cobain.
