Why are people still eating McDonald's food, despite the fact that everyone knows how unhealthy it is?
People eat McDonald's food because it is delicious and it is cheap. I'm going to get lots of sarcastic responses to my "delicious" comment. I cook dinner at home 4 nights each week, my wife does it 3 times, and any outsider would consider what we produce to be gourmet. For six years I owned a gourmet restaurant in Berkeley that was very highly rated, called "Inn Season". It competed directly with Chez Panisse: our food was 85% as delicious, and cost half as much. I almost never eat at McDonald's. My favorite dishes to prepare at home are salmon (still red and fleshy) with capers and Sherry; and chicken cooked in a complex peanut sauceBut when I do eat at McDonald's, I am astonished at the nourishment I can buy for $1. Indeed, their $1 hamburger (that they had last time I ate there) was a sufficient dinner; it provided all the calories I needed, and with the lettuce topping and bread bun it was a decently balanced meal. Fast food is unhealthy primarily because you eat it so quickly that your body doesn't have to reduce your hunger sensations -- so you overeat. Overeating is the primary problem with fast food. In terms of quality, their hamburgers would be considered gourmet by anyone who judged it by the food standards of 100 years ago. As I said, I rarely eat them myself because I prefer more variety and delicate flavors. But from the perspective of most people in the world, they are delicious -- and amazingly cheap.
When French people say "Mac Do" for McDonald's how do you pronounce it?
Mac Doe. Conversely, it's hilarious to hear other people of other languages try to order things in English. ------trying to say words like......McNuggets, or McMuffins. Funny McDonalds movie scene...........In the film, "Time After Time".....(1980's more or less) .... HG Wells, chases Jack the Ripper, to the present, after Jack steals his time machine. There is a scene, where, now in this weird future.....(1980)......he gets in line at McDonalds, and not knowing how to order, just imitates the fat slob in front of him. So he takes on this deep base voice.......and sez....."Gimme a Big Mac, and Large Fries," and within seconds, they plop the tray down in front of him, and he's amazed at the speed at which they produce this food. Then he "marvels" over the "wood" tables. (They're plastic.....because there wasn't any plastic in his time, ya see? ) It was a funny scene..............good movie.........

Why do black people order such strange food at McDonalds and such?
It really holds up my order. Yesterday I was in line and the girl orders a Big Mac and collard greens. WTF, where does she think she is? Of course she had to get real loud then. And then when I was at Long John Silvers one time this black dude orders catfish. These things aren't even on the menu. IDK maybe there is a secret one for them.
Why are american poor people so fat?
@mellow----no, that alone doesn't explain it. Sure, they might not be able to afford gym memberships, but walking is free, no? (instead, I see them all on those little electric scooters, because walking is apparently too much work) And yes, junk food is cheap. But so is beans and rice and I never see them buy that. They can obviously afford their beer and cigarettes, so they could afford veggies instead. But they choose not to. Why? THAT is what I am asking. Perhaps YOU are ignorant in assuming a superficial understanding to the question. Hope I clarified for you.

What's the strangest request you've had at McDonald’s?
“Can I get a free meal if I show you my tits?”It was late in the day but early in my graveyard shift when a bombshell blonde came through the drive-thru in a convertible and, out of nowhere, threw that out at me.“You had a Big Mac meal, right?” I said nervously, as my face turned deeper shades of red. She was stunning, with a reverse bob hairstyle and oozing confidence. I was a shy and socially inept eighteen-year-old, she looked to be in her early twenties. She looked like she has just left a party, not surprising for a store that was right next to a community college.“Yep!”“Ok, hold on.” I hastily grabbed the Big Mac from the heated landing zone (where food is kept warm) and threw it in a bag. I snatched a fry from the fry station, shoved napkins into the bag, and handed it out the window along with her drink, a Sprite I think.She looked at me blankly. “You don’t want to see my tits?”“You don’t have to…I mean, you, uh, you’re good to go,” I stammered.“Alright,” she muttered. I couldn’t tell if she was baffled or embarrassed. “Well, thank you,” was the last I ever heard of her. Because you live in the wrong area. If you lived further up north in America like where I am, you'd never see a single Mexican and hardly any blacks. It's kind of weird, but I got used to it when I moved.
