Why Do Companies Sell Verizon Iphone 5 5c 5s Unlocks

Can I use an AT&T SIM card on a Verizon iPhone 6?

There is no ‘Verizon’ iPhone 6. All iPhones are made by Apple. Carriers may carrier lock the handsets they distribute for subsidation, but there is no carrier branding on the iPhone.Any iPhone 4S or newer that is not carrier locked can migrate to another service provider unabated.

Can an AT&T iPhone 5 be used in the Verizon network?

No.Verizon uses a different network technology (CDMA) than AT&T (GSM), and for LTE (the successor standard for CDMA/GSM) the 2 carriers use different frequencies. That's why there are different hardware variants of the iPhone.Even though you may have A1429, a variant supporting both networks in the same hardware, the device will be configured to work only in Verizon once it is activated for it.See here for some (technical) details on the variant differences: http://www.anandtech.com/show/63...

How do I unlock my iPhone without a SIM card?

You don't need an active SIM card to activate an iPhone; any SIM card that matches the carrier that an iPhone is locked to will work, or if the iPhone is unlocked, any SIM card should do. You will need to activate the iPhone via a USB connection to iTunes in this case which will processes the activation via your computer over the Internet, and in this case neither iTunes nor iOS cares about whether the SIM card is active. So, knowing this, if you can find an old SIM card laying around, or borrow somebody else's old SIM card, try sticking it in your iPhone and going through the activation process. It will either work or it won't (usually if the iPhone is locked and the SIM doesn't match), but you won't damage your iPhone or hurt anything by trying.Even if you find an old full-sized SIM card, you can cut it down to micro-SIM size to insert into your iPhone. If it's a dead SIM card anyway, you've got nothing to lose by trying this either, and instructions and templates for doing this can be easily found online. If you really can't get your hands on any SIM card whatsoever, your only other option is to resort to jailbreaking tools that will effectively bypass the activation process, colloquially known as "hactivating" an iPhone. A wide variety of information and tutorials for doing this can be found online, particularly if you search for "hactivate iPhone" so there's not much point in going into them in detail here.

I have an iPhone 5s factory locked to Sprint. How do I get it unlocked?

I have been with Sprint before and Verizon too and generally speaking Sprint has always been a stickler about not unlocking their iphones for use with other local carriers but will for international use only. Verizon the same. The only one that will let you are T-mobile and AT&T. Now saying that you can do what the other guy said and take a chance on the websites with scammers or go to an Apple store and get an already unlocked phone from there. They usually sell unlocked phones a month or two after they are released although now I think they sell them at the same time due to the fact that T-mobile has no contract and AT&T just announced no contract either. Or go to att or tmobile and get one there. But for sure Sprint will never unlock your phone at 100% because they dont want you going somewhere else. Besides new phones that you get at an Apple store are now able to work on either gsm or cdma.

Is there any website which can factory unlock my iPhone 5 for free?

Unfortunately not. those that say they do often turn out to be scams. If you're in the UK for iPhone factory unlocks I would recommend http://www.proiphoneunlock.com.  they're decent people and will keep you in the loop. They have a range  of iPhone unlocking solutions that go beyond the imei unlocks and are a  bit cheaper. Also, they don't sell stupid cloud rubbish or scam codes.

Why do people buy phones off contract?

Phones that come with plan-especially smart phones- are usually "factory-locked phones", that means that they can only operate sim cards from the carrier who is providing the plan..
So if you are using a simcard from AT&T, you cannot swap the sim card to a sim card from another carrier, for example, Verison.. which is a huge problem to people who wish to change to another carrier, or to people who travel abroad and want to purchase sim cards from another country to be used on that phone..

off contract phones are mostly "factory unlocked" phones, (unfortunately, many scams happen in Asia and Europe, where locked phones are sold as unlocked ones).. having an unlocked phone gives you the freedom to change the carrier anytime you want.

by the way, those contract plans are not that cheap as you think.. at the end of the contract , you already have added up the difference; and the carrier have already made money from you..
So you will and up paying the full amount of the phone with the service charges and the call /text charges.. there is no such thing is free..

but maybe there is some good news, some carriers, like AT&T, will unlock the phone for you for free at the end of your contract which is Something worth asking the mobile phone carriers, if you choose to buy a phone under contract,
because many do not..

unlocking the phone is actually a software Setting hidden inside the phone.. most carriers would unlock the phone for you anytime during the contract period but after paying a sum of money ( usually to add up to the original price of the phone )..

In the past, many hackers and mobile phone repair shops offered to unlock the phone for you for a very cheap price and sometimes for free; until a law was passed in the US making the unlocking illegal in the US that carries prison sentence and heavy fines. many countries followed..

I always advise to purchase a phone out of contract, because it gives you the freedom to choose which plan that you feel comfortable and cheaper.. phones under contract may feel cheaper and it does make it easy for you to have the phone sooner.. but you will end up paying the full amount of the phone, and most likely , you end up paying more than you bargained..

Help: How do I flash my Verizon to MetroPCS myself?

You don't flash a Verizon phone onto MetroPCS GSM vs CDMA / Unlocking vs Flashing. Flashing is something that you do between companies on the CDMA network (Sprint and Verizon). However now that MetroPCS is a part of T-Mobile they are no longer on the CDMA network they are on the GSM network. CDMA and GSM use a different technology. Companies that use the GSM network rely on SIM cards and require the phone to be unlocked when transferring between GSM carriers. However you may be in luck because in almost every other country they do not use the CDMA network they use the GSM network. That means if your Verizon phone is unlocked for international use all you have to do is obtain a new SIM card from MetroPCS and they can switch it over for you. This will allow your phone to work for texting and calling but will cause problems when it comes to transmitting data; Internet (besides wifi) will not work, including picture messages.Best advice is to sell your Verizon phone and port your number from Verizon to MetroPCS which will give you a larger instant rebate towards a new phone.
