Why Do Conservatives Have This Idea That Immigrants Owe Them Something For The

Why do people think they deserve welfare?

Most of the people you are referring to have learned this behavior from their parents. Kids raised on welfare see there parents that do nothing still get money and then when they are on their own they do what they learned.

It is partly our governments fault. Yes some people need it and it is a good thought/idea to help those who are in need. However! Our govt sets these people up to fail. Once on the public welfare system it is VERY hard to get off. They need to start rewarding success not failure!

Unfortunately this will continue to happen and there is almost nothing that we can do about it. But I have also noticed it isn't the Americans born here that think it is their right. Notice all the immigrants who come here to be on our welfare system! To become a citizen they should be required to support themselves!

The core moral question is, “should an innocent third party be able to benefit from a crime?”If a man embezzles money from his company, and gives it to his little daughter, should she get to keep the money? What if she desperately needs it for cancer surgery?Though heart-wrenching, the answer is still “no” — because that man stole something, and justice dictates it be returned.People have a hard time recognizing this: illegally staying in the country is a form of theft. What’s being stolen are services, paid for by the US taxpayer. This happens in direct and obvious ways, like when illegals use the emergency room, or less obvious ways, like the municipal water facility working overtime and needing to be replaced sooner. We give to our country in the form of taxes, and it gives back in the form of services. It is collectivized, for better or worse, like a sort of giant potluck. Illegals are the folks who show up and eat without having brought anything.I have nothing against illegal trespassers; I don’t wish them any ill. Heck, I can empathize with making that choice. However, giving in to sentimentalism has the practical effect of favoring people who never paid into the system over your fellow citizens. It’s not about being unjust to illegals; it’s about being just to those who are already here. That’s the point of having a country — it’s a sort of giant extended family that looks out for its own. I hope we can agree, a family that ignores its own kin in favor of helping strangers, is not worth much.

Why is society allowed to be racist towards Native Americans?

I personally do not find it amusing to laugh about anything negative associated with any race. My opinion hopefully no one jumps down my throat for saying this but I strongly believe the Native American tribes ran this country very well. No offense to anyone now of English decent because you are not your ancestors who did this. The Native Americans had no desire for materialist wealth they are thankful for what nature gave them. A beautiful country with great weather and good crops and animals to eat . My option is that it was so wrong to try to conquer and civilize people who did not need civilizing. My opinion is they were more civilized that the English because the had more morals than any of the English. The Native americans shared and very kind to let others come to their home. What did the Native Americans get in return hatred disease, hunger for power greed. stupid technology that isolates us. The past is the past but this Governments owes them much more than reservations they are owed an apology and their land back that was taken unfairly but soldiers who cheated the Natives allowing them to think they were safe! (THIS IS COMPLETELY NOT BLAMING THE NEW GENERATION OF ENGLISH BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THEIR ANCESTORS! )

First, I don’t think this is a question. You’re just hoping to start a discussion/argument by stating your opinion and asking how anyone can seriously doubt you. I guess that’s OK, but it feels a bit like trolling. But, trying to take this in the best way possible…Anti-Abortion folks (not necessarily conservatives) simply believe that abortion is murder of children, so if you start with that as a given, they figure the rest of us are willing to murder kids, so why would we be upset at the lesser crime of removing them from a destitute family? If you accept their most basic premise, the question is valid.I would respond to these folks by pointing out that you start from the very different basic premise that a fertilized human egg does not immediately become a human, but the common ground you share with them is that at the very least, a child who has been born is precious and not to be treated as an animal. The problem they have with you is, from my perspective, the same problem you have with them: Neither of you is willing to believe the other is a good person who just starts from a different basic premise. Until each side respects the common ground of trying to be the best people you can each be, it will always be the case that you can “invalidate” any position by tying it to the big thing you disagree on.Best to reject that approach and not bother to engage in debate with people who insist on focusing on disagreement instead of common ground. However, you’ll be surprised at how many people are willing to have a good discussion if you take the first step.

I am an Independent. Many people here have given biased answers with regards to the difference between the two parties.  It's pretty clear that a majority of the answers are from liberals.  Just note the subtle wording used when defining these two terms.Don't be fooled: The definitions of liberal vs. conservative and the reality of what it means to be a liberal vs. a conservative are completely different. In general for the U.S.,Liberals (Democrats): believe the answer to solving fiscal and economic problems is higher taxes.  They believe in more government control and regulations to solve people's problems.Conservatives (Republicans): believe the answer to solving fiscal and economic problems is spending less.  They believe in less government interference, while letting individuals and states to solve their own problems. The stereotype is that conservatives are mostly wealthy old white men who are rich and greedy.  The truth is that there are a lot of minorities within the conservative party.  The rich people already pay the highest tax bracket in the U.S. and liberals want to tax them even more, but morally that isn't fair.  Conservatives want tax reform and are pushing a flat tax, in which everyone would pay the same percentage, which is clearly fair. The stereotype is that liberals are mostly minorities, women, and LGBTs.  The truth is that there are tons of the majority (white males) within the liberal party.  The liberal party in America is more wealthy than the conservative party today because they have control of the media, Hollywood, and schools. So, the definitions have changed; liberals want more government control (less freedoms) and conservatives want to give more power to individuals (more freedoms).  Liberals believe the working class should pay for those who don't work through higher taxes, while conservatives believe in personal responsibility.Liberals want a Utopia... a perfect world where everyone is equal and happy.  Conservatives see the world and understand that a Utopia is not realistic.Again, I am independent.  I am only playing devil's advocate here because most answers here are skewed towards liberalism, so I'm just showing how a conservative would argue. Please don't downvote my post just because you disagree with it.

Why do we, as Americans, celebrate diversity over unity?

You may wish to look at this video also .it explains more about what the post is asking also.

Inability to speak English impairs the capacity of a citizen to digest political speech, to serve on juries, to participate in judicial proceedings, to serve in the armed forces, and to participate in a military mobilization. From the viewpoint of society, the fact that some citizens will escape the obligations and miss the opportunities of America will only enhance the prospect for isolation and ethnic strife By draining public funds, lowering wages and working conditions, displacing legal workers, and overwhelming communities, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants. The aggressive way the illegals work at not assimilating into the American way of life causes many problems.both for the illegal and American citizens.
We will not allow this country to become your Mexico
I say Mexico because I live in AZ and our illegals come from Mexico.99% are from Mexico and the other 1% are fro other Latin country's.Truth not selective racism.

Excellant post Margie thanks

At this stage of the game, I do not see that there is any compromise that either side would give in to. To Trump, he as to have a commitment to building a wall. Just extra funding for beefing up border security would not be acceptable to him. He MUST have something towards specifically building a wall. It is symbolic with him and he needs to show that he is fighting for a wall to satisfy his bonehead followers who are demanding one be built. On the other hand, the Democrats absolutely are committed to there being nothing said or money allocated specifically for a wall. They would accept extra money for enhancing the border protection but for them, THERE CAN BE NO WALL.What is going to have to happen is that enough pressure is put on McConnel that he brings up a bill, already passed by the House, that would provide funding that would open up the government again. He is the loggerhead right now. If he did bring up the bill in the Senate it would pass and probably by a vetoproof majority as the Republicans are really getting nervous about this whole deal. They know that the American public absolutely abhor the shutdown and they are the ones that are being blamed for it. If the public becomes pissed off enough it would not give them the votes for re-election and the scares the hell out of them. The Republicans in the Senate would vote for the bill, it would pass, the government shutdown would come to an end and McConnell, who is not well liked at all, even in his home state of Kentucky, would be blamed so Trump has not only backed himself into a corner with no good way out, he has placed McDonnell on the hot seat. The problem is that Trump’s base, the unruly, apparently uneducated group demands nothing short of a wall even though it would be a boondoggle, a complete waste of money that would not even begin to do anythng too add to our security and would certainly NOT solve the problem of people sneaking into our country illegally nor would it stop the flow of drugs. It would not even slow it down very much.To end this fiasco it is going to have to be a vote in the Senate for a bill already passed (basically unchanged from the first time) by the House. There is no compromise that I can see that either side would agree to.
