Why Do Conservatives Try To Act Like They Care About Black People

Do conservatives actually care about Black people?

This is a sincere question. Please avoid trying to tip toe around the question.

Whenever a situation such as the one in Ferguson or Zimmerman/Martin comes up, white conservatives, such as Rudy Giuliani, come out and say "how come blacks don't care about black on black crime?" Now, you should know that of course some black people DO care about black on black crime. But when conservatives say things like this, do they mean it sincerely or are they looking to avoid the issue at hand? Do you say this type of stuff when white people murder other white people and talk about "white on white crime"?

Why do conservatives hate the ACLU?

I, personally am very liberal and very fond of the ACLU. I believe that they are a vital organization for freedom and that without them, the conservatives would continue to get away with some UN-american acts.

1) madatory prayer at naval acadamys ( this is a new one)

2) bush and the patriot act of spying on americans

3) gitmo ( I along with the aclu applaud congress for giving the detanies due process)

4) discrimatiton against gays

the list goes on and on, we need the ACLU!

What irks you the most about conservatives and liberals?

I can tell you liberals are extremely hypocritical.“If Donald loses and doesn't accept the results and says the election is rigged - he will be a direct threat to democracy!”Remember those riots, and protests and chants of, “not my president,” the days following election day? Example of not accepting the resultsRemember when all the liberals said/says Russia hacked the election and thus rigged it? Example of saying the election is riggedAll these Hollywood liberals are telling us how much we need to care about the environment and allBut they all live in the most impractical house when it comes to the environment and use the most non-environmental friendly stuff.“Wow did you see that white guy shoot that black guy today? So racist.”Yet no one cares when it's black on black violence. And they also care about black on white violence - anything interracial.Actually wait, if it were a white person attacking a black person - it would make much greater news than a black person attacking a white person. So people come out who Donald Trump “sexually assaulted,” (they’re false rumors) and Trump says (not acts on) some lockert room talk, and people say “Oh, he can't be president. We can't have a rapist as president.”And what about when Bill Clinton does act on sexual assault, and has multiple extra-marital affairs? Oh that's right, his wife stays with him to further her own career, and people just brush it off

What do black people think of Ben Carson?

Here is what ONE black person thinks of him. And, 90 percent of my (very large) family and friends tend to agree with me. He was respected as a successful black man, a surgeon. His book, ‘Gifted Hands’ was a must-read. Hell, I was proud of him. But, there is a quote that I feel is apt regarding his political forays. Credit Twain, Lincoln or whomever: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.”No one thought him a fool. He was idolized by many. But, he opened his mouth and compared the Affordable Care Act to slavery. He opened his mouth and badmouthed Pres. Obama at the National Prayer breakfast. He opened his mouth and told ridiculous stories about (probably) fictitious stabbings and belt buckle shields. He opened his mouth and displayed shocking political ignorance and mean-spiritedness. All this in service to a party and political movement that has staked its modern-day success on demonizing and disenfranchising black people. As secretary of HUD he is the stereotypical token. He admitted he has no clue how to run a federal agency and he’s proven it. Worse, is that he seeks to destroy a housing safety net his family enjoyed when he was young. He makes the same tired move many “freethinking” black conservatives do - they consider black outreach or even empathetic overtures contemptible because they are race-specific. They conveniently forget that Trumpism, i.e. modern conservatism, is wildly race-specific. Its base is virtually all white.Carson, IMO, sold his soul and is not a person worthy of my respect, admiration or attention. He can keep his crappy book.

Why do conservatives seem to only have a problem with “identity politics” when it’s not coming from them? Examples are “War on Christmas”, “Gay Agenda”, “White nationalism”, etc.

Original question: Why do conservatives seem to only have a problem with “identity politics” when it’s not coming from them? Examples are “War on Christmas”, “Gay Agenda”, “White nationalism”, etc.Because, as with so many other conservative policy positions, they are either (a) ignorant, (b) hypocritical, or (c) both. The examples you’ve cited are most frequently heard from social/religious conservatives, most notably fundamentalist Evangelical Protestants. I have not yet encountered a secular conservative who complains about the “War on Christmas” or the “Gay Agenda.” Secular conservatives have other things to worry about — like trying to destroy the social safety net and reduce regulations upon poor, persecuted oil and gas companies, so they can pollute as much as they want to.That being said, there is still a form of “identity politics” within movement conservatism. It is increasingly occurring in the form of the White and Christian identities, which the Republican Party has exploited successfully. The White identity, in particular, is entrenched within movement conservatism, as it includes both secular and religious conservatives.A substantial amount of research has been done on this subject. A study published in the peer-reviewed journal Advances in Political Psychology concluded that Republicans and conservatives are actually more susceptible to identity politics than Democrats and liberals.[1]Yes, conservatives — you read that correctly. Those of us who are liberal have known this for quite some time. The authors write:The correct’ alignment of social identities — including White and Christian identities that are not typically mentioned in ‘identity politics’ punditry — is more strongly related to Republican partisanship than to Democratic partisanship…….In essence, we find that all politics is identity politics, including the partisan preferences of Whites and Christians [emphasis mine].Did you read the bold text? All politics is identity politics.Conservatives have yet to understand this. They seem to view “identity politics” as some foreign, unusual concept, when in reality, it’s just politics as usual. So next time you hear an angry conservative or right-libertarian raging about “identity politics,”inform them of how their own community engages in this behavior.Or just roll your eyes and move on.Footnotes[1] One Tribe to Bind Them All: How Our Social Group Attachments Strengthen Partisanship

I hate being black.. (Please read description..)?

Wow, I feel like crying just typing this. Everyday someone has to make a comment about black people. Like in my school, there was a fight between to ghetto girls at lunch. All the black people were getting involved in it and all the white people just stood and laughed and got scared, etc . I just watched in disgust. Then, when I sat down at my lunch table, a white boy that sits at my table said" Ugh, more black girls. You know, this school would be better without black people." And then him and another white boy that sat at my table started categorizing blacks.( Stealers, Poor, Ghetto, Ugly) I just wanted to cry , so I went to the bathroom at my school and started crying silently. I'm not in any of those categories! They just think just because the majority of blacks are like that in my school, all blacks are like that! (Man I'm crying now..) Most black people in my school try to act ghetto , because they think that's the way black people act. I'm actually really smart and non-ghetto and people call me an oreo. I have all a's and a B and B-, and most people say that's really rare for a black person to have those grades. That's why they say the school would be better without blacks. I also live in a nice 2 story house in a nice neighborhood, so I'm not poor like lots of people say. I hate being categorized and stereotyped. And when I walk into stores in the mall, white people just stare and look at me like they're waiting for me to steal something. I don't steal! And, I want to be a pediatrician when I grow up, but I never see black people that are pediatricians. Maybe they are nurses or something but never pediatricians. And, I'm afraid the patients are going to say in their mind" Oh no, we have a black doctor... she's not gonna help us.." Also, many white boys in my school say blacks are ugly and they would never date a black girl. They say they never see black girls with long hair like whites. And if they do, they immediately think it's a weave or wig. That brings my self esteem down. And with all this hate blacks are getting my self esteem is REALLY low. I'm SO uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm thinking about buying skin bleaching cream from Walmart today to make my skin lighter. I even thought about killing myself.. and If this black hate gets really out of hand, I might just do it..
I don't feel loved at all in this world being a black..
