Why does my 7 week old puppy keep shaking and whimpering?
He hasn't had many experiences in his life and this one is very scary since he's away from his mom and siblings for the first time. It should only take a few days till he settles in and gets used to things. Please make sure you always watch to make sure your baby doesn't pick this puppy up the wrong way or, heaven forbid, drop the puppy.
My pregnant dogs temperature has been 98 all day, when will she begin whelping?
My dog was bred from the dates of September 18th to October 9th. She is huge at this point and as previously stated her temp has remained right around 98 all day today. What should I expect next and how soon should the pups arrive?
Dogs pregnant... and is crying? labor?
HAppy new years to start off. And two shes about 7 weeks pregnant.. and there is this toy in her cage that i took out when i was cleaning it out and she immediately started to cry for it.. and i was like wow.. she has never done that. and i would give it to her and she would run in the cage with it. Does she think its her baby? and two shes panting and crying... doesnt seem like the puppies have dropped but could this be labor???

Always keep its cage up on a high table or shelf with no chairs or other objects nearby that would allow the dog to reach the cage.
Why is my dog whimpering every time I pick him up?
Hi my dog is a 9 week old chocolate lab puppy and he whimpers when we pick him up. We pick him up by under his arms--like his arm pits. He has never done this before bu he may be tired but we just gave him a half a cup of his food and he scoffed it down like he usually does. We don't know what to do but we felt his body and it seems fine and now he is walking around like usual. Is this normal? Please help!
My Chi is pregnant --Panting hard all night-is she in labor?
She is not due until July 4th--but since 9pm last night she's been panting HARD--acting very nervous (shaking) and whimpering. I can't afford to take her to the emergency Vet. She doesn't act like she can't move or anything though. she keeps moving from her Whelping box to her dog house to under the bed. No sleep ALL night! Is any of this behavior normal in ANY way! I'm waiting on her Vets office to open right now! Thanks PS--I'm GOING to have her spayed ! For those of you who want to tell me that--I already know! I'm NOT a breeder--her pregnancy WAS an accident! I know better NOW!

Do dogs have pain or shivers when in heat??
My puppy just went into her 1st heat. She is 8 months old and still very small. She is a daschund, I have her dad and know the family that has her mom and her brother. The three other dogs are standard size daschunds but she is about half their size and it doesn't look like she'll be growing any more. I was a bit surprised by her heat because she is still so small but I guess she is in the right time period. She only weighs 9 lbs. Ok so she started bleeding 2 days ago and she seems to be in pain. I'm not sure if dogs have cramps or discomfort the way women do but she seems like she's terrified. She is constantly shivering or whimpering and she wants to be right next to me all the time. This is not like her at all because she is very hyper and active puppy that doesn't like to sit for more than a few minutes. I will be sending her dad to the mom's house to visit and keep them separated until the cycle is over with. How long should I wait 2 or 3 weeks?? When will I know?? Thanks
