Why Do I Attract Melodramatic People In My Life

I am 20 and I find every girl melodramatic which is why I face problems to talk to the girls what should I do?

A2ALooks like you have met a whole bunch of sissy, whiny girls in your life, or you have made an assumption based on a few.... :PWhichever case it is, I would like to make a statement on behalf of all the girls. No, not every girl is melodramatic. I have met many girls who do not have even a bit of melodrama in them. Most of the times, they are even teased around to be too 'guy'ish. Now I do not know why you could not find a girl from this subgroup.. And to be fair, some guys are melodramatic too. It's not just about us girls.. It is just a generalization made by the society and melodrama is considered to be a trait of ladies... In a similar way, a guy is supposed to be unemotional..Maybe you are only searching in those girls who look after their looks, wear pink, and are highly emotional (not that anything is wrong with them, its their choice of life).. And most of the people only find these emotional girls to be real girls. Rest of us, just get overlooked for being too 'guy'ish... So, I suggest, you go and try to mingle with girls in a big group... Most of us, nowadays, do not believe in melodrama and are happy to hog away and howl on pathetic things like guys... You just need to meet new 'girls' with different 'traits'.Best of luck my friend!! :D

Should I contact this professor if I am attracted to him?

As far as I know, in most US universities, romantic relationships between professors and students are only forbidden if the professor is in a position of authority over the student. That is to say, as long as you aren't a student in his class, he won't get fired for having a relationship with you. That said, romantic relationships between professors and students are definitely taboo in academia. When it happens, it negatively affects the professor's reputation in a world where reputation matters a good deal. It is safe to assume that the sentence, "Sure he sleeps with undergrads, but only ones that aren't in his class so it's no big deal," has never been said at a tenure revue meeting. Sure, that's his problem, and not yours, but you are walking into a situation which is ripe for drama. Also, keep in mind that a professor's eyes generally light up when they receive enthusiastic questions from a student who was clearly paying attention to them - even more so when it's from someone without a prior interest in their field. So, there is a potential that you're misreading his body language.

What attracts some young men to date older women?

This answer may hurt a few but then I have to write this…I dated an older woman for a while and the only thing that made me leave her is the societal bullshit about the relationships. In my experience, a woman older than me usually turns out to be more sensible and is really free of drama. She had lesser mood swings and definitely knew what she wanted out of her life and relationship in general. So when she is concerned, it is an actual concern and not some sort of teenage girl mimicry! She taught me to be sophisticated. She had the depth which I always yearned for. I could talk economics, poetry and literature with her for hours. She knew about that more than me! For once, I found a woman who did not act submissive and praised me for my knowledge just like that. I was the one who had to earn the complements here. She taught me to learn to handle my shit together and never really acted like a weeping pillow for me when I felt like talking crap about my ex.And since she was older, she was lesser insecure about herself as compared to other ladies I dated. Before I knew her, I always thought that she had that air of arrogance around her. But once I came to know her, I was in awe of this lady every fucking day.We both refrained doing hours of phone calls and all those cheesy WhatsApp messages. We rather made it a point to be with each other more in person.Yes she was opinionated but not melodramatic like those loudmouth bimbos we watch in those crappy MTV reality shows. So that was the good part about her.So yeah, she was not Mrs. Robinson nor was I a BA pass toyboy. An older (more importantly matured) woman can teach you a lot, specially about how to respect yourself in a relationship than to become someone’s bitch.I hope she is doing just fine wherever she is.She is the real corporate bad ass. Much like Jessica Pearson!Enough for now… am going to listen the Scarborough Fair (the title song of The Graduate!)

Why do people enjoy the idea of superheroes?

As a person who loves X-Men comics, I've thought about this myself. The easiest answer is a question: Why do people like anything? Why do people like to climb mountains, or watch cooking shows, or do calculus, or have lots of sex? None of those things appeal to me (I find mountains terrifying), but others are willing to give away their money and health for them. That's just the way people are.Second, superheroes are an elegant mixture of sci-fi/fantasy and soap opera. All of the mainstream superheroes have decades upon decades of backstories. It's easy to get wrapped up in their exciting, fantastic, melodramatic lives. As a queer person of color, I quickly identified with the X-Men's struggle to make a home for themselves in a world that hates them. I fantasize what grade school would have been like for me if I could've shot laser beams at my bullies. A little lawlessness can be fun.

Is it just me or are capricorns emo drama queens.?

I am 32 and have dated three capricorn women. They always seemed so self absorbed, moody, and self pitying. I dated one who had a chronic condition which wasn't serious or life threatening (you would never know unless she told you). Yet, she always acted like a dying cancer patient and acted all melodramatic and wrote poetry about how much she was "suffering".

I had similar experiences with the other two. They always gave some tearful story on their lives, even if they were really just some spoiled upper-middle class college grad. Everything in their life was an emotional crisis. It was pathetic.

Oh yeah, I'm a Capricorn, lol.

Why are soap operas so popular?

For the same reason that film and TV are so popular in general - pure, unadulterated escapism... and soap opera has that by the bucketful.
The demographic that tend to get attracted soaps with, shall we say, fairly poor production values are those who usually feel they have something to escape from. The soap opera genre basically feeds off the shattered hopes and dreams of it's audience, while simultaneously (and through the adverts placed carefully in the breaks) making them think they are missing something or are not worthy of more. It's almost a parasite/host relationship, which unfortunately is all too prevelant in many forms of entertainment today.
