Why Do I Feel Sick When I Play Games

Why do I feel sick when playing video games?

Sometimes, I experience the same thing. According to the source that I found, sitting farther away from the screen so that it doesn't fill your field of vision. Also, experience often helps you get over it. It seems that after enough exposure to dizzying graphics, your brain learns that you don't die from poison every time you play a first-person shooter, and it lets you enjoy your fun. This works for me, though sitting farther away will be inconvenient for some games. It doesn't always happen to me so I just do it when I feel sick. I got used to it eventually.

Why do i feel sick after i play video games?

Lord, do I feel your pain on the insomnia part.

Anyway....

There are two possibilities here. The most likely one is that you have motion sickness, and the crazy action in the games that you play is triggering it. Certain games make me sick; I can't watch my friend play Ace Combat without wanting to puke my guts out, and first-person shooters are pretty much out of the question. The other option is that you have a mild form of epilepsy and the flashing lights in the game are triggering odd reactions from your brain....but you'd probably know by know if you really did have epilepsy.

Unfortunately, there's not very much you can do about this. How well-hydrated are you? Dehydration can sometimes trigger nausea and sweating (which seems backwards, but it's true). If you drink more water during the day, especially before you start playing the game, you might not have such bad symptoms. And it needs to be straight-up WATER, not soda or juice or that vitamin water stuff. The only other thing that might combat this is popping a motion-sickness pill every time you want to play, and that's not very good for your body.

Why do we feel dizzy when playing games or reading on the phone in a moving car? How can I avoid this problem?

You're describing motion sickness or car sickness. We're not sure exactly what causes it, but we have a few theories. The one with which I'm most familiar goes like this:Visual input streams are used by the brain to define position and motion in 3-D space.Vestibulo-cochlear input from the motion sensors in the inner ear also are used to calculate angular and linear motion and acceleration. The brain uses both inputs for error correction, and they are supposed to match. When you're in a car or plane and look at a fixed object like a book or handheld while the vehicle is in motion, there is a mismatch between what your eyes are saying (you're at rest) and what the inner ear sensors are saying (you're accelerating). This kind of mismatch is unlikely in the natural world, attainable only if you spin around a lot and get dizzy (which causes the same mismatch). There are common plant toxins which causes this effect, they are often found in poisonous berries. The theory is that the nausea and sometimes vomiting is an ancient anti-poisoning reflex that is provoked by this kind of sensation. To prevent this sensation, look up in the direction of motion a few times a minute, or watch a point on the horizon. That helps synchronize the sensors, which prevents motion sickness somewhat. Medications also can help, including meclizine, diphenhydramine, and cetirizine.

Can you play video games when you're sick?

I lnow this is a stupid question but still....I'm sick with the flu, well more like the 24 hour flu cause Wednesday I was throwing up a couple a times. Yesterday thankfully I wasn't throwing up anymore but I still wasn't feeling well. And now today I don't have a fever anymore just I'm tired and my body aches from throwing up and not feeling well. So the past few days I stayed home right. Now it's after school hours and I'm really bored, and want to play some video games. ( Mainly GTA 5 ) only for an hour or two. But I'm afraid that when my mom comes home from work she'll yell at me like she usually does and say " If you're well enough to play video games, you were well enough to go to school " And when I try to tell her it's different from being sick while playing video games and going to school. At school you have to carry heavy bookbags, walk around class to class, sit up for hours, write nonstop, talk to anwer questions and stuff, and get other people sick as well. While playing video games you're still in bed laying down under the covers resting. Sorry if this is long, but I wanna know if I'm right about this? Can you play video games when you're sick? Thank You!
