Why is reading books so boring?
As many people have said, you probably just haven't found a book that interests you. You probably need something more fast-paced. You should look into books that are paced more like movies, with lots of action. "Maximum Ride" by James Patterson is action-packed and very movie-like. Just don't read the fourth one because it sucked. The first three are great though. I suggested these because you probably don't enjoy reading because you can't get past the boring set-up and background information at the beginning of most books, after which they get very exciting. "Maximum Ride" just sort of jumps right into the story. Also, if there is a movie that you particularly enjoy, check and see if it was based on a book. This way, you'll have your favorite parts to look forward to when reading the book.
Why do I find reading books boring? How should I change it?
When you read, you feel bore, sleepy. Do you know I used for few years in my engineering books as a sleeping pills. I have bad habit of waking up whole night. I don't know why didn't I feel sleepy those nights. When there is necessary that I have to sleep tonight. I took out the falling out the layer of dust from book. While looking the book one layer of sleep aroused.I opened the book and flapped the paged. I read preface, forewords and dedication. Whenever I tried to read before exam, I couldn't cross the after dedication.In the half way of contents I slept with sound sleep. I thanked to book after waking up.When you read book, you see the words then surely it will be boring.When you read and understand what these black symbols want to show. If you are able to visualize the words into images you will never feel bore.Wherever your imagination goes, your manifestation flow.Try to think figuratively, in images, you will enjoy reading. It is called that reading is a good habit but why? Reading make you to think, change your thoughts, strong your figurative thinking and implicated thinking. It strong your memory. Your focus and concentration ability increase.
Why do people find books and reading boring?
i love reading. i think books are great and give you a way to escape like you said they take you into a different world and the plots can be so interesting. but i suspose some people find it boring stting doing nothing but then i cant understand that becasue you are taken into the plot. i can only imagine that they find it a waste of time or maybe tsome people cannot read lol.

I used to hate to read. But now that I go to the library every saturday. I love to read. I am reading Grudge Match by Jay Brandon. An awesome book so far. Do you actually think reading is that boring?

Reading and books are not the only way to improve one's knowledge, you can opt for audio visual mediums if you find that interesting. In todays world, where there is internet, youtube and various social apps, it's not a hindrance atall.You can Go for some interesting movies, or short documentary films. If downloading such stuffs and movies are restricted for you, simply switch the television and get hooked to the national geographic channel, or discovery, or history channel, or even a news channel of your preferred language, go for anything you find useful.Even various story books and novels are very interesting and can help to gain knowledge,but as you are not a book person, you can search for the alternative movie version of the books or in case you don’t find any, simply search for audio books and have a nice time listening to the stories. (These audio books are really helpful, you can even take it's help for completing your academic lessons and syllabus, watching online lectures helps a lot).You can also participate in group discussions, it's not necessary for you to speak up or say about your point of view, just try to listen and grasp is all.Knowledge can be aquired from everywhere, you just need to keep you senses alert. Go out, meet with new people, take up a current situation and discuss about it with your friends and family, listen to their point of view, Google up suffs you want to know about , search for related videos.Limited knowledge is not a result of lack of interest in reading, it is the result of lack Of interest in learning new things, you just need to be keen about everything and you will gain a lot.
