Why Do I Get Muscle Cramps While Stretching.

How to get rid of muscle cramps?

Me and my friends played soccer for about 2 hours straight and in our last game, I got some muscle cramps, at first i ignored it and still tried to play but my muscles still gave way and my calf muscle cramped like hell, its been 2 days since then but I cant quite stretch my calf muscle and its still sore... what can i do to get rid of the pain?

Why do i get muscle cramps all the time?

Most of the time it is a nutritional deficiency. There are 3 major deficiencies that cause this.
1) Calcium
2) Magnesium
3) Potassium

Bananas are good source of Potassium.
Almonds, Halibut and spinach are good sources of Magnesium
Broccoli, Spinach and Salmon are good sources of Calcium (I would avoid the milk products due to allergy issues which can also cause cramping).

I wish you the best of luck

Leg getting stuck stretching?

What you are experiencing is a cramp-muscle cramp-.

A cramp is an involuntary and forcibly contracted muscle that does not relax. Cramps can affect any muscle under your voluntary control (skeletal muscle). Muscles that span two joints are most prone to cramping. Cramps can involve part or all of a muscle, or several muscles in a group.

The most commonly affected muscle groups are:

* Back of lower leg/calf
* Back of thigh (hamstrings)
* Front of thigh (quadriceps)

Although the exact cause of muscle cramps is unknown (idiopathic), some researchers believe inadequate stretching and muscle fatigue leads to abnormalities in mechanisms that control muscle contraction. Other factors may also be involved, including poor conditioning, exercising or working in intense heat, dehydration and depletion of salt and minerals (electrolytes). If you have been working out lately, or adding more activities that you were not used to (like walking a long distance), that could be the cause.
Remember to always drink enough water, and if you sweat a lot, or it's hot where you live, try having some orange juice and eat a banana, those are loaded with potassium and help preventing cramps.

See your doctor if cramps are severe, happen frequently, or are not related to obvious causes like strenuous exercise. You could have problems with circulation, nerves, metabolism, hormones, medications, or nutrition.
