Why Do I Have A Strong Pain On The Left Of My Pit Of My Stomach

Weird stomach pains.?

First off, you should call your doctor to get checked but in the mean time:

What quadrant is the pain in? (Lower right, lower left, upper right, upper left, all over, near the belly button)

1) Do you have a fever?

2) On a scale of 1-10, what is the pain?

3) Does your throat still hurt?

It's really hard to know what to suggest since I'm not sure where you're hurting.

If the pain was generalized and then moved to your lower right side, and you have a mild-serious fever with nausea/vomiting, this could be the start of appendicitis.

If the pain is under your rib cage or in the center ("pit") of the stomach under the sternum it could be something to do with acid or a gallbladder issue. I had a mild fever (100), constant aching or stabbing pain under my right rib and nausea/vomiting with my gallbladder disease.

If you have had mono recently and the pain is in the upper left hand quadrant, it could be an enlarged spleen or something to do with stomach acid.

If the pain is generalized and feels sort of crampy, you might be constipated and not even know it or it could be some sort of stomach bug or food poisioning or pulled muscles.

If the pain is down low in the lower left hand side, the possibilities are sort of endless. It could be the bladder, prostate, diverticulitis, constipation, gastroenteritis...

If you are on any medications, check the side-effects to see if abdominal pain or upset stomach could be caused by the meds as well.

I would suggest keeping as hydrated as possible (warm water is more gentle on the stomach than cold) and maybe massaging the abdomen. If you're really stressed out, your abdominal muscles can become very tense and sore so massage your abdomen in a clock-wise motion in the shower or tub and see if it helps move things along.

Keep in mind that gas pain can be almost excruciating. I've almost cried from gas pain before so sometimes the severity of the pain doesn't indicate how serious of a problem it is. However, always seek immediate medical attention when you have severe pain of any kind. Also, If you have a fever with vomiting/nausea with this pain, call your doctor right away or go to the hospital if you feel it's an emergency.

I hope you feel better soon!

How do I stop feeling a pit in my stomach after finding out my ex just broke up with me a week ago and is out hanging with buddies playing pool?

I've felt like that before and it's obvious that nobody wants to feel that way. It's not uncommon either.Have you noticed when you think about your ex and what she is doing now you feel the pit in your stomach, but when you focus on just the feeling itself it kind of goes down?Well if you haven't, its worth a try. Your mind's pull in the direction of your ex is very strong and it's hard to get over. That's why you shouldn't try to.It's easier to look at something new than to stop looking at something that causes pain. When you're feeling like you lost something or this wasn't supposed to happen, you resist reality and this causes the pain inside.Listen to how your thoughts dance around this feeling of hurt. You might delve into past memories or the meaning of the breakup. None of it is going to end this pain.Your ex can still matter to you. See her ending the relationship as setting you on your own way instead of a different way with you and her together. There's plenty of reasons why a relationship is not a good way to get the things you want. But the benefits are only worth it if that person truly wants to be with you and you can not have to worry about whether you hold their interest or loyalty. You don't need to look for that either. It comes from being an attractive person where you enjoy your life and what's in it.

What are the reasons why my stomach could hurt from drinking water?

You’ve probably learned not to drink much water if there’s pain, but it reminded me of past experience. I probably irritated my stomach lining from too much coffee, spicy food or something, when I was young. Over-the-counter pain pills can be especially irritating to the point of opening wounds that get infected by a particular bacteria that manages to survive in the strong acid environment of the stomach. The pH of the stomach can go to 1.5, strong enough to dissolve nails. The wound (ulcer) becomes inflamed, as the immune system cooks the bacteria and kills the invaders and the infected cells. Because the acid is so corrosive to the stomach lining, those cells replace themselves every day or day and a half, so the ulcers normally heal easily, if the source of the irritation is eliminated.Mucus membranes line all entrances to our bodies that are exposed to pathogens, and not surprisingly, line the stomach too. The ulcer is probably covered with mucus, as it is healing, and the big drink of water is probably washing off the mucus, exposing the wound to the acid, resulting in pain.

Why do my stomach hurt when I take a deep breath?

Very complicated to answer without more information. If it comes on with running and is off to one side or other other it may be a condition called side stitch. However, pain with breathing may also indicate that something is irritated on one side or the other of the diaphragm. On the top side of the diaphragm that is often one of the lungs, or more specifically the lining of the lung called the pleura. This can happen from scar tissue, infections, tumors and other things. It can also happen from the pericardium, the sac around the heart being inflamed. The esophagus could also do this.Things below the diaphragm that can cause this are numerous. On the right liver and gallbladder would be most common, but the right kidney, transverse and ascending colon, appendix and small bowel could do it.In the middle below the diaphragm the stomach, first parts of the small bowel, and pancreas would be common causes as well as the transverse colon. On the left side the spleen, transverse colon, descending colon, and sigmoid colon along with the left kidney and occasionally the aorta would be possible causes.Depending on the location these may give you some clue. But the internal organs are not hooked up to nerves as precisely as things like your hand or leg. Internal pains can be experienced in general areas rather than specific locations related to the organ. So any abdominal pain could be from all those abdominal causes I described or it could be from pain referred from the chest, the chest or abdominal wall or even be spine related pain if a nerve root was pinched.Seeing a medical professional for an evaluation would be a wise idea if this is either severe, recurrent, or ongoing. Best of luck,
