Why Do I Not Have An Appetite In The Morning

Why do I lose my appetite in the morning?

Last night I went to bed on a pretty much empty stomach and I remember someone was having a "snack", and I could seriously smell it my bedroom LOL, and I was hungry and decided I would have it for breakfast. This morning when I woke up I don't feel like eating anything and it sounds gross if I think of having what I smelled yesterday. Why is this? Is this also because I slept late (lack of sleep)?

I don't have an appetite in the morning.?

The body will get used to whatever you repeatedly expose it to, breakfast included. If you often do not eat an early breakfast, your body will get used to that and readjust it's metabolism in that type of a cycle. If you start eating an early breakfast every day, you will get used to it and not feel nauseous after a while. Breakfast is important, so I wouldn't skip it if I were you, just try eating it at the same time each day. Later, when you get older, skipping breakfast can be a cause for gaining weight, so if your family is prone to this it might be something to consider.

As for the alcohol tolerance, it is impossible to base any answer on the information you have given.

Why do we have low appetite in the morning? Or is it just me?

Did you have a strong appetite in the morning and has it suddenly changed? Careful, it could be something more serious. You may want to check with the doctor. If it has been a common theme for you, it’s probably nothing to worry about. Your metabolism is just not in sync with waking up and being hungry. You have to start training it to be adapted to food when you wake up. While asleep, your metabolism is likely not working as hard to digest food, and when you awake, it’s remaining in that less productive state. So, start working on making breakfast a routine. At first, you may not feel hungry, so try eating small amounts. You may be able to work your way up to a decent size breakfast. Also - be careful about snacking too much before bedtime. If you eat a large meal right before going to bed, chances are you will not feel very hungry when you wake up.Lastly - it could just be part of your hormonal makeup. It may take time for you to warm up to eating. Try different foods, to see if switching what you eat, might warm you up to the taste of breakfast.Edit: Someone brought up a good point. I don’t think that you “should be” hungry in the morning or breakfast is a must. In fact, it may just be common in the morning that we aren’t hungry. I know for years I went without breakfast. Personally, I had to stop because I drink coffee (not my favorite habit) and having it on an empty stomach on a regular basis will make me sick, dizzy, jittery, light-headed, you name it.

I have no appetite in the morning?

Hey,

i have no appetite in the morning, especially when during class days (monday to friday) here in the Philippines.

I wake up early cuz my school is very far from our home (bout 30mins jeepney ride), and i ate my breakfast in 6:20am with hot milk, etc...

but when it has no class like sundays and saturdays, i have more appetite to eat, and i still wake the same time during class days. why is this? is there any solution that i may increase my appetite during breakfast?

I never have the appetite to eat in the morning. Why does this happen?

I start with chai. It has honey for energy, some easily digested protein in the milk(I don’t have problems with dairy…people use milks made from nuts and beans and seeds as well), and the spices are certfied organic and are good medicine for the stomach. If I don’t eat something some time after that, but still morning, later in the afternoon I would start craving food(low blood sugar) and be hungry the rest of the day, no matter how much I binge. But since my tummy is in such a good mood from the delicious chai, I can enjoy whatever I make next.

I have no appetite in the morning. Is it possible to jumpstart one's appetite by eating e.g a cookie before breakfast?

Eating a cookie or similar high sugar food is a bad idea. You might get a rise in blood sugar, but then your body is likely to release insulin to counter act it. The problem is the insulin release is imprecise. So it is likely to remain in your bloodstream converting that blood sugar to fat, far too long. This often causes your blood sugar levels to drop too low. So you get hungry & eat.So if you then eat food full of sugar the fat accumulating, insulin rich cycle continues. If you eat foods that slowly release sugar, you may maintain a “normal” range of blood sugar. Enough to power your daily activity but not enough to convert to fat.So if you can eat the latter when you are hungry, why not force yourself to eat that at the start. And avoid the sugar cycle completely.Note: Oatmeal is not the only health breakfast choice. Consider cereals like Weet-bix, vita-bix, or leafy greens (spinach leaves, raw carrot), almonds. Adding a little fat to your meal does help you to feel fuller longer.UPDATE:Fairly recent research shows that the time of day you eat food also effects your body’s ability to process it. Your natural circadian rhythm is driven by a release of various hormones, the most well known is melatonin. In preparing your body for sleep it also prepares it to “fast” & be inactive. This results in a significant slowing of its ability to absorb fat & sugars from the blood. So a big meal at night is likely to result in elevated blood sugar & fats. The same meal in the morning will get processed & used as energy throughout the morning.High blood sugar levels are known to damage eyes, kidneys & liver. Hence the expression “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince & dinner like a pauper”

Why do I feel fatigue and loss of appetite after a morning run?

It is quite common to have a poor appetite after a hard workout. If my run is slow and moderate (like on a recovery day) I can usually eat within 30 minutes or so. If the run has been very long or very intense I cannot eat for 90 minutes or so. I also frequently experience feeling “chilled”. And have to get out of my wet running clothes and into something dry and warm. Also, after an intense workout I cannot handle solid food and prefer to make a smoothie with fruits, vegetables and protein powder. Sometimes I will throw in some espresso to get some caffeine for an energy boost. I have friends that add ice cubes to their smoothies but I like mine closer to room temperature. I hope some of these tips help you.

I have no appetite in the morning. Sometimes my stomach repels what I'm trying to eat for breakfast.  Should I see a doctor or does this happen to everyone?

I also rarely feel hungry in the morning. I think it's normal, because it it the way I have always been, and I am very healthy.I feel like as a society - and maybe as a species - we are very concerned with putting things into categories, boxes of "right" and "wrong". I tend to think of most things as a sliding scale. In general, eating a healthy breakfast is good for you, and people who do tend to weigh less and be healthier. "In general" is a pretty broad phrase, and allows for plenty of variation from the norm.I also think that as humans we are very concerned with impressing upon other people our versions of right and wrong, and we are all very worried about what other people think of us. I just figure that I am one of those people that isn't hungry until 10, so I eat at 10, and don't worry too much about what other people think about it. I had a professor once try to convince me that I HAD to eat breakfast every morning, and I was being ridiculous for not doing so. I said I was sorry if it upset her, but I am who I am, and I will eat when my body says to. OK, I also hate giving advice, because everyone is different and you should listen to yourself and not anyone else (oddly, I love getting advice, I think of it more as information which can be stored and used to analyze my own situation, which is why I love Quora!). So don't listen to me! Listen to your stomach!

I have literally no appetite in the morning, usually it's only much later at night, how can I reverse this?

First: is there some pressing need to reverse it? There is absolutely nothing wrong with not eating early in the morning. The “breakfast is the most important meal” was an advertising campaign thought up by - wait for it - breakfast cereal manufacturers.Second: hunger is partially the result of hormones. All not being hungry in the morning means is your hunger hormone is low, and it is partially low because you are used to not eating in the morning. Yes, a lot of things in the body become circular, we are remarkably adaptable! So if for some reason you feel it is indeed important that you start feeling morning hunger, you’ll have to start eating in the morning to train your body to expect food at that time of day.But the obvious problem here is training yourself to eat earlier won’t ‘untrain’ your late eating habit. You may be better off just sticking with your current routine.
