Why Do I Only Feel Excited During Scary Rides In Theme Parks And Everything Else Is Kind Of Boring

Do people tend to like amusement parks less as they get older?

Time to get my grumpy old man tone going…Amusement parks, like so many other day-long excursions, just seem like expensive hassles to me now. I’d feel like I was paying a lot of money to do something that wasn’t relaxing at all on my day off, when I really need to relax. On top of that, I’d be thinking about all of the other things I could be doing for free, or should be doing at home.Parks and playgrounds are free to use* and relaxing enough for me and my kids. In the summer, the dog beach is fun and free to use and my kids and dog love it. These places also do not require an entire day to go to, enjoy, and come back from.I also have a back yard that my kids, dog, and I enjoy playing in when the weather is right. For the cost of taking my family to an amusement park for a day, I can buy a really awesome outside toy that my kids could keep for years until they got bored of it. Or, for a little more than the cost of taking my family to an amusement park for a day, my wife and I could take a weekend trip to Vegas… something I’d actually really enjoy.Amusement parks? No thanks. I’ll let the teens that are trying to impress their girlfriends and 20-somethings who don’t have families have the amusement parks. Nothing about them appeals to me.*But not free, since I paid for them indirectly via property taxes. I couldn’t keep my conservative credentials if I didn’t mention that.

Why is literally everyone around me so boring? I even run into nothing but boring people?

Be happy for your future. You think negative you get negative. You think positive you get positive. Start off find one happy thing of college,Think of one happy thing at home, think of one happy thing about your neigbour hood, think of one happy thing about your family, think of one happy hing about your associates, think of one happy thing about your state, think of one happy thing about your city. I double dare you

How do you describe the feeling of riding a roller coaster?

Rollercoaster rides are extremely thrilling, suspenseful and exhilarating.Imagine yourself getting into your seat and getting strapped in. You can hear the buzzing of excitement from your fellow passengers. They talk about previous times and how thrilling this is. You can literally feel all the animosity as your neck hair peaks with anxiousness. The ride slowly takes off and you start the incline. Your ears are hypnotized by the clicking of the gears while, you watch yourself climb higher and higher. Your blood starts rushing and you can feel every foot you climb.Dramatically, your climb starts to slow as you reach the acme of the structure. All the noises stop and you feel a rumbling as gravity rips the cars down, the wind is slapping you in the face as it would if, you put your head out of the window of a speeding car.The ear piercing screams of all the thrill seekers behind and infront of you only boost the adrenal glands into full throttle, as your body is shaking from the twists turns and loops. The excitement consumes you as you feel the sling shot of velocity ever drop you take. Then you get spit out to a straightaway that yields the while experience and you feel your body still in motion, while your brain adjusts you still feel the adrenaline flowing fast. The ride then comes to a stop and you either feel like doing it again and again or, you feel like crawling into a dark motionless hole feeling terrified.

A metaphor about amusement park rides?

From the movie, "Parenthood". Grandma tells a story:
"You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster... Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride!... I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn't like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.

It's a metaphor about life. Riding the merry go round is a symbol for a boring life.

Why do people like going to amusement parks?

There is not just one answer to this question -- the reasons people visit amusement parks and theme parks varies depending on the guest. One of the most important reasons people visit amusement parks these days is because it offers a shared experience that allows for the creation of new, one-of-a-kind memories for families and friends. It's a different way for people to interact with each other in an environment dedicated to fun. Screaming together on a roller coaster really does bring people closer together, which is why when we look at the top rides at amusement parks it is always the attractions that can be experienced as a group. Another top reason people visit amusement parks is for the safe thrills. Not everyone is going to get to fly a jet, and not everyone wants to jump out of a plane, or go white water rafting, or drive a race car. All of these experiences can be safely replicated at an amusement park. There are many other more specific reasons for visiting an amusement park. Some people go for the opportunity to interact and engage with their favorite characters and brands. Other people go for concerts, special events and seasonal celebrations. Some people visit because they are part of a group (church, school, company) while others visit just to make their kids happy.Ultimately, amusement parks and theme parks are mass market activities that appeal in some way or another to the majority of people in a given community. While not everyone will visit every year, it is a sure bet that most people living with a certain radius of the park will visit at least a few times growing up and the again once they have kids of their own.

What does it feel like to ride a motorcycle?

Everyone has told you how it feels like. Now let me tell you a different perspective that might brake (pun-intended) your mind:Riding a motorcycle means entering the avatar state. As your motorcycle and your whole face, body, arms and legs pierce through the AIR, riding on wheels feels never as fast.Narrow alleys? Steep hill roads? Even to the island on the other side? You can always rely on your motorcycle to take you anywhere on EARTH.Massive traffic? Unlike those clumsy four-wheeled beasts, your trusty two wheels have a chance to cut through and slip by, just like WATER on a river of rocks……And when you kick the tires and light the FIRE, you can feel the thunderous roar of the engine on your whole body. It feels glorious.Even the military does it all the time..Of course, entering the avatar state has its risk:As you are more and more addicted to the power, you may become irresponsible and misuse its power to cause problems to others (read: pedestarians). As you feel more control over that power, you may grow arrogant. It puts a danger to yourself and the others. And of course, unable to control the avatar state means you may risk your limb, or even worse your life..Hopefully this will give most of you the idea how it feels when you accelerate the pedal.Ride safely folks..p.s. My motorcycling experiences are limited to the areas of Jabodetabek and Tanjungpinang - Batam , which as you can see is located in Indonesia. I believe other countries might not experience the same thing as the roads here, where 85 million motorcycles goes through the road everyday. Not to mention of the road condition which is probably not as good as the one in the west.

What does the Tower of Terror drop feel like?

No... Disneyland's version of Tower of Terror is much more "sudden" than Disney World's version. I've been on the Disney World TOT more times than I can count; my first time at Disneyland really was... surprising, to say the least.

That being said, it's an up-and-down ride. It's a Drop Tower-type ride. (Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drop_tower ) It lifts you up then drops you down in a random pattern.

The difference is that Disney's ToT is much, much more extravagant in design and implementation than your typical amusement park.

Also, it is kind of like the most "exciting" moments of Space Mountain, when you have those sudden drops that give you "air time" in your seat; that moment when you lift up a little bit... That "up/down" airtime is what ToT is all about.

It's not as scary as people make it out to be. I'm usually the person laughing like a lunatic. I'm ALWAYS having a blast on that ride.

Wouldn't eternal life in heaven praising God get a bit tiresome after a few hundred years?

Yes, and probably sooner. The possibilities of heaven, as an environment, reduce to three:1: Life in Heaven is more intense. That is, some kind of (emotional) high.2: Life in Heaven is more varied. More rides in the heavenly theme park.3: Life in Heaven is some combination of 1 and 2. There are more rides in the theme park, and you are high when you take them.To these, you have the added possibility that: God will change you so that, what ever heaven is, you will love it forever. These changes must constitute either an increase in mental function, (ie you become hyper-human,) or a decrease in mental function. (You become sub-human, an idiot or some kind of animal.)Some combination of increase in some functions, and a decrease in others, is also possible, and probably necessary. But would it then be possible for some sort of heaven to hold a person’s attention forever? Doubtful, but it merits further discussion. One possibility, and this is mentioned, is the individual would become a kind of perpetual virgin. The only reasonable interpretation of this is that no matter how many times the individual had a particular experience, it would seem to that person like it was the first time. This would require the suppression of some sort of emotional memory function. For the purely hyper-human, even if the variety and intensity of possible experiences in heaven is greater than on earth, they cannot be infinite. His experience would be similar to any earth- bound human, though at a different scale. Even so, it is unlikely, having a greater sensitivity to boredom than his previous human self, that he could endure this forever. This is especially the situation if we consider that any existence in heaven is an existence without consequence or meaning. Your occupation would consist of praising God, who cannot possibly have much need of it. Perhaps you would have some sort of buzz on. At some sacrifice to your intellect. Would God, could God, change you so that you did not miss the fact that your existences had become meaningless, and you still retain any degree of intelligence? Doubtful.A heaven of forever without death is attractive only to those who do not think about it. For those of understanding, however, the earth is heaven, and heaven earth.
