Why Do I Randomly Feel Sad

Why do I sometimes randomly feel sad?

Its a time of changes for and what you,ve stated happens to many. Your leaving parents, siblings, home and familiar surroundings behind, your embarking on the major road to proper adulthood, new place, new people, new faces and a whole new way of life are all major changes. Though these changes are exciting and different and you are cooping with things, a part of is frightened and there,s a yearning for the past because you are now much more aware of the responsibilities of growing up and the challenges that lay ahead. Sometimes these realisations become overwhelming and result in the feelings you described. Its a rite of passage thing, and as you get more involved in your new life it will start subsiding, please don,t panic and don,t allow your mind to over-dramatise the situation. Keep in regular contact with home, talk and laugh with your new mates about the past and and those youthful days of some years past, whilst enjoying and appreciating the differences you are now experiencing. This new phase will itself soon whizz away, and once again you will be confronted with the challenges of a job, your career, a life partner and even a home and babies. So enjoy now, relax into these changes, you are going to do well, you will be alright....

Why do i randomly feel sad?

The mind is a powerful organ. It remembers everything from your first breath to now and most of it is subconscious memory.
So you very well could have a "reason" for being sad that you're not aware of, strange as that seems.
Depression is common in this new age. People are becomming less connected to their own thoughts and to others which in itself is sad. About 1/3 of the worlds population is depressed.
I'd say talk to your doctor, but you didn't mention being suicidal and I think behavioral meds are a load of garbage.. So if you're to see them about anything:
Proper exercise, diet, sleep.
Get in tune with yourself.
Namaste.

Why do I randomly feel sad sometimes?

You should keep a journal and vent every day. That's what I do. Because writing helps you vent, and sort out your thoughts. I feel so much better when I do. Because you might think you're upset about your relationship but as you keep writing you might find out that you're actually upset about something else. And if it turns out that IS because of the relationship, you've already written about it and got it out of your system, so you can think of rational, kinder ways to say it to him, as oppose to just freaking out when talking to him. And even if it is that you're just feeling paranoid, you should still talk to him about that. Tell him that if there's a problem in the relationship, you need to talk about it so you're not feeling paranoid or wondering what he's thinking all the time. Tell him you want the kind of relationship where you guys don't have to feel nervous about talking about things.

As for randomly feeling sad sometimes, even the stupidest stuff can make you feel better. Starting a conga line at a public place. Putting posters up of Justin Bieber and Selena gomez kissing in your bedroom, and replace Selena with a picture of Taylor Laughtner, and LOL at your amazing wall and all the weird crap you have on your wall and ceiling. Getting the kids menu so you can color. Listening to the musical stylings of Bo Burnham and MC Lars. Dancing in your living room. Dancing crazy at the bar.

'd like to recommend a few books to you. Even if you don't read, please read these. The Happy Book by Rachel Kempster and Meg Ladder (it's filled with activities to make you feel happy. Seriously, I'm Kidding by Ellen Degenerous (because it's funny and made me feel better) The Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole (because it's soooooooooooooooo funny!!!).

As for movies, if you haven't seen Ted yet, get it and watch it. You will laugh your @$$ off. I promise.

Also go to everyoneisgay.com. They give relationship advice and really funny videos (even if you're not gay it's still great advice and humor)

There are tons of things that can distract you from sadness. Watching mostly humor and music help me. You know what else helps me? Glee. It may not be your cup of tea, idk.

Also, maybe you're not getting proper nutrition. I always feel depressed if I'm eating lots of junk food. Drink lots of water and put healthy things into your body!! It makes a HUGE difference in your mood.

Why do i sometimes randomly feel sad?

Hi, im 16 year old male and sometimes i feel very sad and at school i dont want to talk to anyone even though im a jolly person who normally has a laugh with friends but sometimes i just feel very sad and i know deep down inside i want to cry and my friends ask me "whats up with you? this is not really like you?" and the sadness is not the normal upset feeling its this gut feeling which takes a few hours to ware off and i be back to myself again. something happened in my life 1 year ago and most of the time im always thinking about it i just cant get over it no matter how hard i try to forget it and when i think of this it makes me feel even more sad.

Most of the time i stay home playing computer games doing course work and i used to enjoy playing football with my friends know for some reason i just dont like it anymore im not sure if this is because when i go to play theres people around and im shy to play infront of them for some werid reason. i also hate admiting theres something wrong with me because i just keep all my feelings and emotions locked up inside and dont even tell the closest people in my family if theres something wrong. Also no body in my family knows i feel like this.

I also have a masterbation addiction where i sometimes get so bored i will masterbate 4-6 times in a day and my penis would start to literally hurt and i have a realy dirty mind for example if i see a hot girl i imagine all sorts of things i would do to her (meaning sex) i also sometimes cant control myself if i havent had atleast 1 masterbation in a day i get very horny so trying to prevent this i wake up at seven in the morning masterbate come back from school and masterbate and then before going bed masterbate and i dont know how to try and stop this filthy addiction because its getting in the way of my life and sometimes on the weekend i masterbate even more.

can somebody please tell me whats wrong with me since i know this stuff is not normal of a 16 yr old.

Why do i feel randomly sad sometimes?

well, i have been there once, it's so normal sometimes we will feel tired about life or work or lover without any reason,so don't worry, what helps is to choose a fresh thing to do that you never do before, such as travel to a strange city, see a latest film, read a good book, listen to an interesting lecture and so on...One word your problem is common, just not think about it too much, it will disappear as you do something else with time going.

Why do i always feel happy and then randomly sad?

It looks to me like you have low self esteem, which you have become quite proficient at hiding from others and putting on a smile, even if you don't feel like it. Try making a list about yourself- everything you're good at, something you like about yourself. I know it will be hard, but if nothing else, try to add one extra thing on to it each day. Then, when you have a list and you're feeling bad, read through it.
Otherwise, resolve that you will do one nice thing for someone else each day (could be something little like holding open a door) but don't tell anyone about the nice thing you have done.
Go sit out in the sunshine for ten minutes as the body produces serotonin (lifts your mood, makes you feel happy ) and do nothing, just relax.
If you feel you can, go talk to a teacher or someone you trust about how you feel. They may be more able to direct you to solutions.

Good Luck

Why Do I Randomly Feel Depressed?

Sounds like you are normal. When depression last 6 weeks or longer then you have a problem and should seek professional help.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be alone on occasion. When you do feel sad, watch a funny movie, lay out in the sun for a little while or journal (which can be very helpful and therapeutic).
