Why Do I Walk Up The Stairs On My Toe

Why does my cat attack my feet only when I walk up the stairs?

Your kitty wants to play. :-)Stairs are cats’ favourite places for play-ambushing humans. The many steps offer so much choice where to lie to plot the ambush. As you walk up the stairs, your lift your feet higher than when you walk on flat ground, and this bigger movement makes your feet more exciting for a play-ambush.Try walking up the stairs trailing a piece of string. Make it long enough so the end trails on the steps. You can attach a cat toy, a key, a plastic ring from the opening of a plastic bottle, or a feather, or just use the string on its own. Walk up the stairs, dragging the string. I’m 99% sure that your kitty will attack the string instead of your feet. :-)As to why she hissed - that’ part is surprising. She’s probably frustrated that you didn’t take the time to play with her, but that doesn’t normally cause a cat to hiss. Since the hiss happened only once, it’s probably not part of the pattern.Just play with your kitty and have fun.

Why do I always stomp my foot when I walk up stairs?

Try jumping a few times with both feet and then doing skater jumps, so jumping with one foot side to side, and landing light (without a stomp). My guess is that you’re just flopping your feet and not using your core, glutes and quads to control your movement. I used to get terrible knee pain from poor stair movement, think about your butt more when you’re moving. Just thinking about it will make you use it more. I walk up the stairs on my tip-toes and Walk down 'oddly'? Why?

Ever since I've been a baby I've been walking/or running down the stairs two feet on the step at the time [[Having to place both feet on the step before taking the next step]] And when ever I walk/or run up the stairs I have to walk up on my tip-toes, just can't walk up with flat feet.

Is that odd? Just wondering.

I have problems walking down the stairs but not up the stairs. How can I get better?

You use different muscles climbing; usually you lean into the stairs, and some people use a handrail to help pull them up. Going down stairs takes a lot more balance. Your base brain takes a signal from your upper thigh and hip muscles as part of the balance input. If you strengthen your core, hamstrings, and glutes you will soon be able to walk downstairs like a teenager. If you were disabled and those muscles atrophied, it is normal that your balance would be greatly affected. It is a real pleasure to see that balance come back, and it is relatively easy. The big gain is knowing that your bones are getting stronger too. Weak muscles that don’t pull on bones cause them to become porous (osteo porosis). Porous bones break a lot easier than strong ones, and a hip fracture when you are old and weak is generally a death sentence. Think about it.

I fell down stairs and my toe has been hurting for 2 days. I can walk but it hurts to wiggle it. I don't think it's broken, what could be the cause of this?

Hello Nora, you didn't say which toe.If you look at your finger bones, (fingers are built like toes) you see little pieces of bone and everywhere the finger bends is a joint. The joints are held together by little cords on the sides of the fingers called ligaments.More than likely, you injured a ligament on one side of the toe. If you have pain on one side when you bend the toe side to side, you probably injured a ligament. The bone can be crushed, but the way you described the fall it probably did not break the bone. Since I am not a medical doctor, you should schedule an appointment if it continues to hurt. You can ease the pain with ice in a packet so the skin does not freeze. Good luck!

My ankle clicks loudly whenever I walk up stairs?

This has been bugging me for months now. It's not painful, but whenever I walk up stairs, or make any similar kind of movement on my right ankle, it clicks loudly. I've finally had enough of it, what do I do? I went to physio for the same foot over a dancing injury, but they didn't seem to notice anything there, but it probably didn't help that I didn't mention it. Can I do something to make this go away? Help me please!

Do you tiptoe up the stairs or place your foot flat on each step?

I am under orders to Tiptoe .

Dogs play bites when i go down the stairs?

When she starts play biting/attacking your feet, just stop moving. The game won't be fun for her anymore if her target isn't moving. Once she stops biting, start moving again. If she tries biting again, stop moving. Also, when you stop moving make sure to completely ignore her which means no talking and no eye contact. She will probably get a little confused, but keep going. When you get to the bottom and she isn't biting your feet, praise her (you may need to even praise her for not biting your feet when you take a single step). You may also want to teach her in the future the commands upstairs and downstairs. If she likes stairs, then send her down the stairs before you (or up the stairs before you. When you get to the bottom/top praise her. You could also teach her a wait command. Tell her to wait at the top of the stairs. You go to the bottom and call her to the bottom (this can be a downstairs command or a recall). This will keep her out of your way on the stairs if you are ever carrying anything and she can't be attacking your feet if she is waiting at the top or the bottom for you.

Good luck!
