Why Do Libs Hate Capitalism And Walmart

How come liberals hate the free market and capitalism?

Woah woah woah. Who said liberals hate the free market or capitalism? I'm a liberal and an entrepreneur. I love the free market and capitalism! However, they do have their problems. In a completely free market, monopolies will arise and will be easier to maintain, especially in high overhead industries like manufacturing. Monopolies are bad for society as it results in less productivity and higher prices. This also means less innovation. Wonder why the USA pays the most amount of money for some of the slowest internet speeds in the developed world? It's because ISPs don't really have any true competition. I can only get Comcast in my neighborhood and ATT in the next neighborhood over. Since I, as a consumer, don't have a choice in ISPs, what incentive do they have to improve? Want to know why health care in the US is so bad? It's because of how little competition there is in healthcare. It's the freemarket at work. Businesses want to lower competition and raise more barriers of entry, not encourage more competition, which of course is the basis for providing more to consumers.Average people need protection from abuses of power. That's the crux of the American Constitution. Unfettered freemarket capitalism concentrates the power in a few large players, abusing the people with high prices to maximize their profits. Look at standard oil, ATT, the railroads! All of these companies built monopolies or cartels to operate with in that hurt society as a whole. The government needs to be a balance between protecting the interests of business, and protecting the welfare of the people.

Why are liberals terrified of ultra capitalism?

In actuality they're not, And if it's any consolation to your obvious stupidity there's plenty of liberals that work for those companies because you doofus idiot, discrimination on the basis of religious and or political affiliation is entirely illegal. This is why one of the major reasons that corporations ARE a good thing. And as far as labor unions are concerned the problem with thier existence in this day and age,is thier alignment with political parties and organizations, weather that be conservative or liberal. This being true unions as organizations are often highjacked away from doing what they were initally intended to accomplish So your juvenile and quite asinine attempt to create the narrative that liberals are totally opposed to economically feasible and diverse capitalism is patently false and misleading and even stupid.

Why do liberals hate McDonald's so much?

They feel McD's mere existence is causing them to lose control over the lives and health of the entire nation.

Why do so many liberals claim to be against capitalism, yet they all buy iPhones?

You confuse Liberals with Communists.Communists are the ones who want every aspect of the economy to be planned by the State. However it should be pointed out that just before his death, even Lenin had realised that the lack of innovation and distributive markets was hampering the USSR’s development and was considering how to re-introduce the “good” aspects of Capitalism. Most Liberals & Socialists believe in a mixed economy. One where the basics of decent access to food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare are provided for all People, via a system of State run Corporations, taxation and welfare payments. After that, well regulated capitalism can help drive innovation & find efficient forms of distribution. Many Liberals, and Socialists buy iPhones. Many others buy android or microsoft phones. Others have no phone. The same can be said of Capitslists and Conservatives. So your hyperbole betrays your lack of insight. Why should they not?. Do you ask why Capitalists don’t refuse help from socially provided services like the Police, Fire Departments, Armed Services etc and insist on providing their own defence against misfortune? Most on the left believe that those who work for a living should get the “full fruits of their labour”. Mostvof us do not believe that we should all live in the woods and grow our own vegetables until the world changes. As Aneurin Bevan (a Socialist Minister & founder of our National Health Service & Social Housing in the UK Labour government after ww2) might have said:Socialists & Liberals believe that everyone who wants an iPhone should be enabled to buy one!

As someone who is liberal, should I boycott Walmart?

As a liberal who seriously disapproves of WalMart’s owners’ politics, I avoid shopping there as much as possible for basically the reasons you mention.I do have a caveat for myself, though. On the very rare occasions when I have needed something in a serious hurry and the WalMart is the only retailer within a 15 minute drive that has the item in stock, I am willing in that instance to go there for the item. Practically speaking, this has been twice in the past ten years.I do not judge others for where they shop, just myself. I try to keep as much of my grocery shopping as possible at Costco, BJs Wholesale, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, and the local Asian chains.I’ll shop regular megamarts near me when I have to but prefer the local regional chain, Market Basket, as the owner treats his employees well, the prices on many products are pretty good, the produce is fresh and the fish is very good. Their only problem are cramped parking lots—lotta people shop there for some reason. My sister walks past the local Whole Foods to go to Market Basket. As for local business? If the owner’s a good person and the workers are happy then I’ll go there regardless of the politics. Kind souls should be encouraged regardless of party, and there are plenty of kind Republicans out there.

Why do liberals hate free enterprise?

The way the New Deal coalition obtained enough votes to stay in power was that a majority of the voters depended upon the system - either worked for it (govt employees or unions working mostly public jobs) or received handouts from it, or were close to needing such handouts and needed the security of knowing that they would remain in place.

If your next meal depends upon the election of the party that supports keeping the system in place, you'll vote for that party.

To politically maintain that majority you need a highly inefficient bureaucracy.

To economically maintain it you need it to be the case that most of the voters are financially dependent upon government.

When you reduce tax and tariff rates and other obstacles to free trade, more people become financially independent of government, more financially independent of the system, thus less likely to vote to support it - - - even though from an economic perspective it's easier for them to do so.

This is why, despite the increased tax revenue that has resulted from cutting tax rates, most Democrats oppose tax cuts - - - it's not just about raising revenue for their programs, it's about keeping the vast majority of the people in a position where they need or could one day need to lean on the government financially.

It's ingenious when you stop to think about it - the tax burden put in place to pay for their programs is what keeps so many people dependent upon them - - it's a never ending cycle, or it was until we somehow broke it by cutting tax and tariff rates.
