Why Do Men Tend To Be Better Drivers Than Women

Are Women better drivers than men?

yes, by far!! however,i disagree with these insurance companies for "women only drivers"... if it was the other way around we'd all be up in arms about sexual discrimination. one rule for us and another rule for others. tut tut

Why are men better drivers than woman drivers?

As a professional driver, I would regard SOME women drivers as totally incompetent, but MOST women drivers as cautious and safe.

I have rarely come across MANY really good women drivers, but then I recall Michelle Mouton, a lady rally driver who really was absolutely superb, and well up to the pace of the male driver in a male dominated sport.

I don't think women drivers are much of a safety issue, because they tend to have less accidents and tend to put safety first.

That doesn't mean that they're good drivers though.

It's something I've always puzzled about, because there are any number of brilliant lady musicians, who obviously demonstrate extraordinary skills; many of which are similar to driving.

Why are men better drivers than women?

men aren't better drivers than women-that's why MEN'S insurance rates are higher

Who are better drivers? Men or women?

men

they are better at everything

Do you think women are better drivers than men?

Q: “Do you think women are safer drivers than men?”While I can’t speak for every woman or man as a driver, the women I have been in a car with while they have been driving have generally been very good. I think my mum only ever had one accident that was her fault in all her 50 or so years of driving, and my wife has never had an accident that was her fault in almost 25 years of driving.Me, on the other hand, had 3 accidents in about as many years in the first few years after I got my licence. Although since then, I have not had an accident in more than 30 years. I also know of other men that have been at fault in accidents.I have also seen insurance statistics that suggest that women are generally safer drivers than men, being in fewer accidents over all, although I became aware of those insurance statistics a number of years ago, so the statistics for more recent years might have changed.I would suggest that women are generally better drivers than men, especially younger age groups. To be honest I don’t know exactly why that is.

Are men better drivers than woman?

Well scientifically men tend to be better than women because of better spacial awareness, depth perception and navigational skills and it's also why men are better at maths and drawing. It's not a sexist thing it's been proved by science but it depends on how you class 'better' - do you mean men have a lower percentage of accidents to the population of men that drive or do you mean who can successfully carry out parallel parking that sort of thing.

Why do many people still think men are better drivers than women? I thought the 21st century would be more reasonable than this?

There is still a bias.I think where there is truth about female or older drivers being more hesitant and making dangerous manoeuvres, is because they sense the accusations. Many women in the 21st Century are still being raised by traditional 20th Century parents. They might even still have grandmothers who didn't see women as capable as men. They have deep self-doubt. They believe that they can't.A women's fear and stress while driving is exacerbated by their culture and education. My mother is a prime example of being completely and physically capable as a driver, but is paralysed by the fear of upsetting other drivers. She doesn't feel like she belongs on the road. Not because she's a bad driver, but because she doesn't have the pace of aggressive ones. She hates the idea of not being quick enough to spot someone flying past her at 100mph.I used to drive dangerously fast to somehow appease other, faster drivers on the road - so much so that I almost crashed a dozen of times. I could feel their judgement burning on my back!I have now learnt to not care and I'm a better driver for it. If anything, I'm worried I might have become one of those drivers that judge others for their driving!Maybe someone should study why people are always such stressy drivers and why they get such bad road rage. Why do they need to go 5mph quicker than you? Why can't they wait until I've finished overtaking? What are you going to gain from doing something that could kill you, a cyclist or another driver?? Is it worth it?Too many drivers are impatient, reckless, lucky to be alive or lucky to not be caught. These are the people that tend to blame women for their bad driving. The best drivers are those who take responsibility for other people's mistakes and drive in a way that mitigates risk.

Are men really better drivers than women? If so, is there an explanation?

The people who claim that are mostly men its not accurate according to the incredibly comprehensive amount of statistics built up by the people who have most, financially, to lose by people having accidents. INSURANCE COMPANIES. This is why they used to offer lower premiums to women [while it was still legal to use gender as a factor in deciding premiums] Despite what some people try to say insurance companies didn’t give cheaper premiums to women because they were biased they did it because women drivers cost them less in claims. If men’s speed, accuracy and quick reflexes were better than women’s then they would be less likely to have accidents not more

Are women really better drivers than men? If so, is there an explanation?

Women are not better drivers than men just like men are not better drivers than women. It does not work like that. If what you have stated is true (as you have not provided any credible evidence to back your claim up) then you need to start thinking about why this might be true. Maybe there are reasons for it. Some countries say men in their country tend to drive longer distances and the longer the distance you drive the greater the chance you will be invovled in a car accident. I have also heard some countries say men drive more often than women and the more often you drive the greater your chance of being in a car accident. All I am saying is look into it because you may well find that if you live in one of the countries I am talking about and the roles were reversed and women drove longer distances and more often than men then you may well find women were the ones having the most major crashes and in that case it would mean neither gender is more dangerous when driving.Studies just about always leave vital information when making claims like this and it is useally vital information that totally changes the story.
