Why Do Most Black People Try To Act Tough

Why do most black people try to act tough?

There could be a few answers to that.
1. They grew up in a crappy part of the city and see the whole world that way.
2. They watch too much MTV
3. They feels society puts pressure on them to feel that way because of their skin color. (Stereotype)

If you ask me I blame MTV. They put out the stereotype that all black men need to act ghetto and say "know what I am sayin?"

Why do black people act so tough?

Not all black people act "tough" as you say it. That is another stereo-type and it's wrong. Seems to me like you're then one acting tough. In your details you mention that you've fought a lot black guys. Do you go around looking for fights to get in? I mean I know that black people just don't come up to you and try to pick a fight with you everywhere you look. Lets be honest with ourselves instead of twisting reality into a story that's not true.

When Black people act tough... is that a sign...?

Lots of Black people want to act tough and when they are around other Black people, they want to act as thoug they own everything.

Is that a sign of how insecure they are?
they are afraid to act normal cause they fear somebody is going to step on them?

Why do some people act tough in groups?

Alright for example I was at the gas station to get some gas then I walk in the these idiots are started laughing (I'm black and all these situations have to do with black people or whites trying to act what they think is black) But some of their friends walk out their as quite as could be. Another situation I'm at a mall and some group of guys start following me to say I'm ugly which I know I'm not a supermodel but I think I'm pretty handsome lol anyway these people followed me around I got lost turned around and they laughed at me I just looked awkwardly because these guys themselves looked like somebody dropped them on their face at birth but I was on the phone and past them again and no one said not **** but was staring cowardly. And to get a little off topic I went to a bar with my cousin he got me in yay and this big giant nfl guy up to me and said I like how you walked in here like a real *****. Anyway whats up with some guys acting tough **** in groups.

Why do people act tough or join gangs?

people act tough because they are not tough they feel that one day they will have to fight and they will lose they think that if they act like they are tough then they will become tough and that no one will want to fight them. they join gangs for the same reason and you are right they are losers

Why do black people act so tough? Intimidating..(OR PEOPLE IN GENERAL)?

i think its just the stereotype that black people are stronger than any other color, and they feel like they have to live up to that so no one will push them around. i think its an instilled fear that they will be made slaves again or something if they dont act this way. and because most people believe that blacks are stronger and tougher, they get away with it.

How should you act around black people?

You should be the real you. Don’t try to be someone that you really aren’t in real life. As a Black person, I enjoy being around non-Black people that are down to earth, approachable, and friendly.I definitely wouldn’t use the n-word. In college, at the recreation center, many non-Black people just pretended like the Black guys weren’t using the word while playing basketball. But that didn’t prevent them from hanging out and having a good time playing basketball. And many times the non-Black guys would hang out with the Black guys outside of the recreation center.I also played basketball at the YMCA in my hometown with guys from many different ethnic backgrounds. We always played hard on the court and had a very good time. Nobody ever yelled at each other or came close to getting into fights. But the games were always extremely competitive.I have sometime been around non-Black people that aren’t comfortable around Black people. Sometimes, their lack of comfort can express itself in the form of fear. Other times, they will try too hard and act out of character. In my personal experience, that means trying to make you laugh too much or focusing too much on my Blackness by wanting to only talk about Black American culture.I love being around non-Black people that are comfortable in their skin. They don’t view me as exotic or think that I am the sole representative of Blackness. I have a Colombian friend that I love to shoot the shit with and have conversations about serious matters. Every single time we see each other, it’s like two long lost brothers seeing each other for the first time in years.I want interactions with non-Black people that make me feel good and don’t leave me feeling icky. Thankfully, I have enough encounters with people where we can both be at ease without having any racial difficulties.Note: I don’t ever use the n-word in my everyday speech.

Why do some people act tough when it's obvious they can't back it up?

I noticed that many people especially women try to act tough. Even though they can't back it up. Most recently, I've seen this lady in her suv almost run over this guy crossing the street. For no good reason she screamed out to the guy get the f out of the road A hole. I was thinking to myself, if she said to this guy's face he would set her straight. Anyway I see many women act tough when they have no basis to stand on. I can't figure out why either. Don't get me wrong I love and appreciate women. It's just that I won't go around bossing or talking sht about someone if I can't back it up? Is it possible that they feel no one will follow up on there actions?

What is the cringiest thing people do to try to act tough?

I come from Texas, so naturally, every other vehicle on the road is a pickup truck. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them. I even drove one at one point, because that’s what I learned with. Other than being an absolute pain to park, and skiddish in the rain, it ran great. I felt pretty invincible in it, as naïve as that sounds.Turns out, others do too. There’s trucks, and then there’s trucks.Souped up with white lights that are conveniently positioned directly into my rear view mirror, I feel like I’m going blind driving in front of a big pickup truck. And if I’m not going quickly enough, despite driving the speed limit, the lights come closer. The truck has been raised, so it almost towers over my little Honda crossover, forcing me to speed in order to just see.Sometimes the trucks have six wheels, and large exhaust pipes for God-knows what reason. And it always seems to be a show of ostentatiousness. They rev unnecessarily, they take up more than one parking spot, some make a point of tailing you for going too slowly, and in general, seem to be an overcompensation when you look at the scrawny, big belt-buckle, cowboy boot wearing kid that hops out of the cabin.
