Why muslims say Mohamad abolished slavery when himself married slaves?
( femal captives ) and also ownd slaves which he did not married,and he also instructed the muslims in the following suras ,that its ok to marry slaves (" female captive","what ur right hand possess), or to have sexual intercourse with them . 79:30. Except with their wives and the (women slaves and captives) whom their right hands possess, for (then) they are not to be blamed," 4:24. "Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess. Thus has Allah ordained for you-" 33:50. "O Prophet (Muhammad SAW)! Verily, We have made lawful to you your wives, to whom you have paid their Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), and those (captives or slaves) whom your right hand possesses - whom Allah has given to you-" Please no retard answers like ..."it was only for those times " ..becouse u muslims say Quran it is a guide for all the times and all mankind.
Why do Muslim woman allow men to treat them like slaves?
Some if not all of the asnwers on here are resulsts of nothing but bigotaroy, ignorance, and stupidity. First of all, Muslim women were given all rights 1500yrs ago that the american women had to fight for in the 1930s. Woman didn't even have a soul as preached in the churches until the 1900s. So lets not get into the religion because what women were offered was centuries ahead of any society had to offer. In a truely Islamic society women have the following rights in Islam: 1. The right and duty to obtain education. 2. The right to have their own independent property. 3. The right to work to earn money if they need it or want it. 4. Equality of reward for equal deeds. 5. The right to express their opinion and be heard. 6. The right to provisions from the husband for all her needs and more. 7. The right to negotiate marriage terms of her choice. 8. The right to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply can't stand him. (pls note that God deeply frowns upon divorce as a solution unless there is hardly any other alternative but it does not mean that men have more right to divorce their wives than women do.) 9. The right to keep all her own money (she is not responsible to maintain any relations). 10. The right to get sexual satisfaction from her husband. 11. custody of their children after divorce. 12. to refuse any marriage that does not please them and more... Did women have the above rights in any society 1500yrs ago, better yet, do they have those even today? Do you get your kids after divorce or do you fight for it? Last but not least, let's not confuse religion with culture. Just because homosexuality is accepted as well eating pork and other lewd things in america, doesn't mean it's accepted in the bible. So lets not confuse what people do influenced by their culture with what the religion teaches. I think there is a bit of ignorance on the questioner when asking this. No one is treating anyone like slaves, it is not a matter of domestic violence. One that exists in every society and needs to be stopped. Women in west often falls into the same trap and let their man abuse them and do as they please and never report to the police nor do anything against it.

Well, fundamentalist Muslims have the right to be offended at whatever they choose to be (just like anyone else). What they do not have the right to do is force anyone to conform to their religious beliefs or fundamentalist driven sensibilities. And yes, I believe they think they are better (or at least more righteous) than the rest of us.

I AM a Muslim thats why i specifically put in "Muslims" in the question!! Some people may not agree but i feel that it is much harder to control yourself in a country like Saudi Arabia where i am currently living...why? for two main reasons: 1.There is absolutely nothing to do here other than internet and computers for us teens...especially those who can't speak good Arabic 2.Islam itself has become so "common" that people tend to forget it altogether and go to the more "western" side. The percentage of teens i see here practicing Islam is less than what i saw when i was in Canada
