Why would someone sign in on Skype and keep his status "do not disturb"?
Has a live Skype call going all the time. I worked with a colleague once where we kept the Skype call running 3 to 5 hours a day as a video "water cooler." It felt like having an office mate even though we were working from homes in different countries.A bad experience with strangers or telemarketers. Uses Skype only for outbound or appointed calls. Prefers the model of starting a conversation in text chat and escalating to voice or video only as needed. Accident. Some people accidentally set their Skype presents to DND and forget to change back, don't know how to change it back, or don't know they did it in the first place.Generally, DND signals a strong desire to avoid interruption. Interrupting what? None of my business. If you have a need to know, why not ask?
IMVU Friend wants my skype!? I dont want to give my skype?
Okay so im using imvu recently and i met some friends and i accidently leaded one guy on :| And so i thought i was alright and stuff but he asked if he could call me on skype i dont have it but he wants me to get it and i absolutely refuse to go on because clearly this guy thinks its an actual relationship which ive told him its not for obvious reasons were on the internet hes 19 im 21 i live in ontario he lives in new jersey like fml and im too nice of a person to say something mean Wanna give me an excuse not to get it. Anything, and i have a mac and he knows that so i cant say i dont have webcam i was thinking of saying my macbook crashed when i was trying to move it into another room and i have to get it fixed for a couple days but idk if its believable or that its too quick that i barely know him. PLLEASE Help me out here :| I dont know what to say and i do care if he gets mad at me cause that means i'll lose a lot of friends -.-

We were having fun today and one of the guys who I hang out with had his skype open and asked me to fix the video for him because he was already on the "videocall" with the girl that we all know and wanted to see her. As soon as I fixed the video mode, I asked her to show us some boobs, everyone laughed but she said that I'm rude and hung up. That same night I went over my gf's apt and we had a talk. My gf told me that this kinda behavior offends her friend and her (obviously, but I thought it wouldn't be a big deal and we'll all forget about it in 10 mins); however, she told my gf everything. I had to apologize like a hundred times to her (not to my gf, she's my baby - doesn't get mad at me even though sometimes I'm just an asshole.) Is she just overreacting or a ***** (wanting to get me in trouble)? Or, I'm a big asshole?

I feel you! I take half my classes at home and go to school for half and am also a sophomore. This sounds cliche but it's true: do something you like to do and you will find people you like. try to get out of your house a little! Take an art class or try a sport, even just go to a coffee shop with a good book. Even if you don't find friends right away, it feels good to get out and do something for a while. Smile at people! I tend to always frown (resting ***** face or something I guess haha) people are way less likely to try and talk to me when I frown. I don't know if this is an option for you but I would recommend taking at least a few classes at school because this is the easiest way to meet people you like that are your age. Also, make sure to maintain your personal hygiene! Try to smell good and put some thought into what you wear, it really will make you seem much more approachable. I really hope I could help you, I have been in your position and I know how lonely it is. As a side note, you should talk to a therapist about it, especially because you struggle with self-harm. There are medications that might help (I know because I've tried them, I was really in a super similar situation). If you don't have money for a therapist or don't want a therapist at least talk to your regular doctor when you go for a check-up or something because they can also help. If the self-harm feels too personal to mention at least tell them how lonely and sad you've been feeling because if you are struggling with depression or anything similar it can feel even harder to make friends.
