Why did the number of YouTube comments’ thumbs up not grow?

I got 107 thumbs up on a 1 month old YouTube comment and was not notified until today. Why does this happen?
I wish I knew. Things happen on YouTube and it seems almost as soon as you have an answer, things change and the answer no longer applies. In the bad old days of apps and services, updates were rolled out after several months. So users had time to get used to the current system before having to learn something new. Now it seems that more and more companies are rolling out changes almost daily, some more noticeable than others. Every change can result in a glitch. Some glitches are so impactful that notices are sent to users or industry pundits report on them. Others don’t even get a mention.A couple of possibilities I can think of that may have happened in your situation:Even though your comment is a month old, you may not have received a lot of thumbs ups until recently.Notification may only be triggered when you exceed 100 thumbs ups.And the other real possibility is that your notification got caught in one of those glitches and was log-jammed in a backlog with a bunch of other notifications until the glitch was fixed (intentionally or unintentionally).
How do you check thumbs up for your youtube comments?
Go to the video you made the comment on, and choose to view all comments (Its at the bottom right part of the page). Now hold down the Ctrl key and F key. This will bring up a little window for you to search for a keyword. In this case, type your username. You can find your comment and see if you have any thumbs up.
How long does it take thumbs on YouTube comments to appear?
first of all, comments need 2 thumbs up or more to show. you will never see a comment w/ just a +1 next to it so if yu are the first to thumb up a comment, it won't show until somone comes along and also thumbs it up - then it will say +2. s for thumbs down, they are not shown anymore at all. when a comment receives a lot of thumbs down, it becomes hdden. you won't ever see -2 or -5, etc but the votes do count.

After youtube changed their layout I didn't think it could get much worse. After seeing this BS I've finally lost it. Google what the hell is wrong with you? It's like taking someone successful like Michael Jackson and having him work with and do Justin Biebers type of music. The new comments just don't make sense and I don't think you can reply to those things. Also now youtube allows you spam as much as you want and now people are just posting pictures of ***** and saying the same comments 80 times. **** google plus!!!
Youtube thumbs up not showing?
Rating a video-comment with a "thumb" is not updated immediately for 2 important reasons. The same is also true for rating videos with "stars", as well as how total "view counts" are counted & displayed. Reason 1 is to prevent the values from being falsely inflated/built-up. You can't just raise or lower those numbers because you feel like it. Thus, YouTube has made sure that you aren't capable of doing that. The very same thing is also true here on Yahoo!Answers. You can't fool around with the thumbs or vote more than once. Reason 2 is really because YouTube does not update those figures right away. There'll always be a very lengthy gap of time in between when you thumb/rate/view a video and when it's figures are updated, unless you happen to click just before "update time" (which usually is every 6 hours, but sometimes is 12 or more). This helps explain why your thumbs/ratings/views are blocked even when you delete your cache/cookies/history, shutdown, and reboot. This also explains why vast chunks of video-comments go radically missing as you go from page 1 to page 2 to page 3, especially with videos which have gone viral. And finally, this also explains why the "replies" to people's video-comments seemingly always appear like regular video-comments when they're first posted.
