Im 13 why do my parents treat me like im 2?
You are young & they care about you & want what's best for you & want to protect you. Especially if you are the youngest or an only child. You don't understand it now, but you will when you're older.
Why do my parents disrespect me?
Often I feel that way with my dad especially. The reason is that I'm exactly like him in some ways and radically different in others. We're both stubborn and outspoken, but he's pragmatic, practical, and all that good stuff, and I'm a hopeless romantic and poet, etc. I think what has helped me most when my dad squashes something I say is to realize that I am becoming an adult, and that it's okay to have a different opinion than my parents. If they disrespect something I say, the best thing to do is let it lie and know that I have my opinion. Just make sure you keep on being respectful...that's great, girl! I have a hard time w/ it too!
Why do parents spy on their kids?
Insecurity makes people spy on each other. Parents may spy on their kids because1. they are insecure about their own parenting styles2. they are insecure about their children's social company3. they are insecure about the society in generalHowever I doubt if spying would be any use because in any generation, the children are smarter than the parents. If they have to find a way to dodge the spying, they will. The best way to tackle this insecurity is to give them freedom and instil the thought that 'freedom comes with responsibility'. Children should be their own moral guardians.

I'm a 13 year old girl and i totally hate when my parents criticize me. I think parents need to understand that kids have a mind of their own and if they keep spanking or criticizing their child, the child will hate them. I mean if i was a parent I would talk thinks out with my child and support them in every safe way. I would not lay a finger on them. I know you guys don't care what I say but give me a chance...its from a teens perspective. Also, most of the time, when the parent criticize the child, don't you think when the child goes to school they would be stressed out and fall behind? "God, I'm so stupid my own parents hate me...I give up! i don't care anymore!" I don't think this is fair because, the child is getting bullied at home and at school. This may lead the child to commit suicide. (which IS NOT good)

Parents do this because children need guidance for the first years of education. However if parents do this when kid is already teenager it is bad habbit.
