Why Do Parents Get Their Children Circumcised

Should it be illegal for parents to circumcise their children?

Yes, it should be. Considering that circumcising female babies is a felony and cutting off other body parts is considered severe child abuse that you'd probably be imprisoned for.I used to work in an OB unit in a hospital and let me tell you, circumcision is pretty horrifying And it's torture. Really made me question people's sanity that they would ever think that would be appropriate to do to a 2 day old baby-”oh look, we have a little boy. Quick get a knife so we can chop off some of his penis so daddy can feel like they have matching penises” - family traditions of abuse! Also, consenting to circumcision is consenting to the possibility that a young boy could get his whole penis cut off, have serious complications and never be able to have a normal sex life. Or even die! when you really think about what'd that would be like for a male, it makes more sense why it should be illegal and not a decision that is made by someone else. In the OB unit that I worked at, one day a boy was circumcised and burst a lung from screaming so much so he had to be rushed to the neonatal ICU. The parents were really upset and I didn't understand why(well i did). You knew that was a possibility when you signed the consent form. Or did you not even bother to read the consent form because that would make you question or re-think your penis cutting fetish?(that sounds crazy, but some pple are obsessed w it. To the point where they request multiple times that the baby be cut right in the first hour after birth- not joking.)Also to wrap this up, who really cares about what some penis cutting religion requires. Chop up your own dick, not those of non-consenting young boys. Not all religious practices are acceptable.as far as adult circumcision goes, that should be legal. Hell, you're an adult chop off your whole penis if you want. I don't care!

Why would a parent get their child circumcised, knowing he might not want it? Wouldn't you be upset if your pasents did that to you and didn't care how you'd feel about it?

At one time it was considered a health issue. It is also a religious issue for many cultures. In spite of the rabid anti-circumcision propaganda it is nothing like female genital mutilation, boys can live perfectly happy, normal and healthy lives with or without a foreskin. In my time it was done for both health reasons and tradition. My parents wanted the best for me and made their decision based on the knowledge and beliefs of the time. I am just fine thank you. When my son was born I went with the pediatrician's recommendation. I wanted the best for him and made the decision based on current medical knowledge and practices. I however will not tell you which decision we made, that is between him and whomever he chooses to share it with. As it should be.

Why do parents circumcise their babies?

I'm not for or against circumcision but with all the arguments and debates over whether which is better makes me wonder why parents even decide to have it done...? Like who decided that it should even be done in the first place? I myself am pretty sure I am circumcised and I'm not mad about it, but like I would rather like to have a choice. Plus with all you people out there spitting out false information, it doesn't help your side get any closer to an agreement that you're right, it just throws off the people who actually need information... so anyways *read title* yeah why do they do that...

After all these years, why do parents still circumcise their kids when they are babies?

Why hasn't there been a law to stop this? I was just watching these youtubers, and they got their lil baby circumcised.

I mean, all this b s about it being more hygienic is all lies. All it does is take away natural lubrication, and makes it dry, and takes away a kids freedom of choice.

People say it reduces the risk of getting infections and all that, and is much cleaner. So why don't they just get their noses cut off too? It would be much cleaner and you wouldn't have to clean it anymore. You're probably thinking right now, that noses have a purpose and foreskins do not. WRONG. foreskins have purposes too

So why do parents still do it to their kids?

Are you cut (circumcised)? Do you wish that your parents had chosen not to let the doctor mutilate you?

I have been circumcised, although I grew up with my foreskin intact, only having the procedure in my 40’s. My parents were not religious, and there was no doctrine to follow, so me and my penis were left au naturel. However, most of my adult life, I had an extremely tight foreskin (phimosis). The good part of this is that this provided a numbing sensation as the blood flow was restricted once erect - and as such I was able to keep sex going indefinitely (or at least until I became too tired). The downside is that I found it very difficult to cum through intercourse. The phimosis got progressively worse, to the point that sex became painful, after which I sought advice, and was referred for circumcision. They did an excellent job, and I don’t regret it one bit. I wish I had gotten it done many years earlier.I do prefer the look of a circumcised penis (its more aesthetically pleasing to me), and it is certainly easier to keep clean. But I guess teh question was really aimed at whether parents should be taking this decision for their male children out or religious doctrine. Tough call.

Is it still legal for parents to have their kids circumcised to punish them for masturbating?

if your gonna punish your kid for jerking off, thats just wrong, its like in boys blood to do it. there hormones are going crazy. I hope this question isnt your personal situation. Forbidding a boy to do that is like against there nature. Let him jerk off if he wants, isnt it better than getting some girl pregnant when there not ready? Circumcising should only be done for sanity reasons or religious reasons when there very young. But for jackin off? come on....your not gonna stop boys, men from doing it.
