Why Do People Constantly Hate On Government

Why do people hate government and politicians so much nowadays?

That is, compared to 7-10 years ago.

Congress has what, a 7% approval rating? And Obama's approval rating went down the drain faster than anyone else's... and considering how popular he was at first, that's pretty surprising. Then there's the tea parties, millions of people protesting the IRS. Then there's the guy who rammed a plane into an IRS building. Then there's the 9/11 truth movement, 33% of Americans think our gov did it.

So what caused this rapid increase in mistrust in government? And are people correct?

Why do some people hate the American government so badly?

Through history, there has been no correlation between the internal freedom of a society and its violence and aggression abroad. For example, England was the freest country in the world in the 19th Century, yet in India they acted like the Nazis did. The United States is, politically...the most open and freest society in the world and it also has the record for the record for the most brutal violence and aggression in the world. Now these things are just uncorrelated.— Noam Chomsky, explaining whyPeople around the world have problems with specific policies and actions undertaken by the US Government. Since they don’t live in America, they have no ideas about American freedoms (which let’s not forget wasn’t always created from above by the government, it often came, from below, from the bottom-up by the American people, especially its marginalized groups).Russians dislike America for NATO expansion, for their Cold War propaganda campaign which demonized them out of context and beyond proportion, and sidelined and suppressed their mammoth contributions to the Anti-Nazi victory. Iranians, well look up the Shah and Mossadeq, the French (well some of them) dislike the Americans for their xenophobia, the cheese-eating-surrender stuff while neglecting the many contributions the French made to American culture and history. In South America, the dislike goes back to the 19th Century, and the level of American involvement in stamping out democratic movements and opposing reforms and revolutions is well, staggering. Even the Roman Empire wasn’t so tyrannical. Then there’s America’s free trade which suppresses local businesses, doesn’t allow competition and so on. American culture ensures that the lowest grossing blockbuster will be more widely seen than the best performing French/Italian/(Insert Non-English Eurochinese art film) independent title. So that’s that.

Do the Nepalese people hate the Indian government, Indian politicians, or the Indian people? Why?

I might sound mean saying this, but I agree that most Nepalese do tend to hate India/Indian government or Indians in general, which is an undeniable fact. And, it isn't just Nepalese Quorans who throw resentment at India but fellow Nepalese citizens in general. The question to consider here is not Why we tend to hate Indians but HOW.There are many reasons why India is resented by many Nepalese, some of which are;Bullying of us in different sociopolitical and economical issues. Our usage of petroleum and other imported good from Indian stakeholders which makes us indebted to them in economic ways. The government's Intervention in political instances and pivotal decisions of Nepal, etcNegative imagery of Nepalese in Indian Cinema and un-officiated right for the usage of Buddha.Being the "Big Brother," India's attitude of looking down upon Nepal. How we hate them?We consider boycotting Indian movies from Nepalese theatersWe burn the efficacy of them during protests and organize a national strikeWe stamp "Buddha was born in Nepal" in our note to try to prove that Buddha was in-fact born in NepalThe methods of us resenting them is such naive and pointless that at some point of time we lose the very objective of our hatred, and rather turn it into bigotry, violence and prejudice. Despite our enormous resentment for India and Indian products, we always are dependent on them for many things and we tend to increase the consumption and usage of Indian products in Nepal every year. When the foreign products in general has so much flourished in the national market, it gets tougher to eliminate them, moreover lessen their usage. On top of that, hating the very nation who supply us with whatever we need, ummm..doesn't sound legit. Most of us don't even actually know why we hate them and for what reasons, but we still hate them for the sake of hatred.

Why do American people hate politicians and government but love servicemen?

Most Americans know a soldier, even if it’s a retired one, like their grandparent. Most Americans do not personally know a politician.Soldiers cannot pass laws that the citizens wont like.Politicians can.Soldiers are (mostly) poor or middle class, and did not join the service to get rich.Politicians are (mostly) middle and upper class, and many use their political influence for their own personal gain.A soldier’s job is to keep the country safe from foreign militaries. The country is safe from foreign militaries. They do their job well. How well do politicians do their jobs?

Why do ex-military start to hate/dislike the U.S. Government?

I have always been sort of a "military brat" and have been planning on joining the military after i graduate from college, BUT ever since i started college this fall (right after high school), I have met several military vets (some of who have actually served in Iraq or on overseas bases in Germany or Japan) and I have noticed that a great deal of them now have a very unfavorable view of the United States Government. I was very surprised that these military vets had an unfavorable view of the U.S. since people who serve in the military generally feel a sense of patriotism towards their country......One of these military vets (who was in JROTC throughout his high school life and enlisted right after high school) told me "man i just wasted my time in the air force...i wouldn't recommend it...i didn't get the MOS that i wanted...the recruiter just wanted me to sign the contract...i was stuck answering phone calls for one of my Captains...i enlisted because i wanted to guard nukes, not do some p***y a$$ job".
Another one of my classmates (who actually served in Iraq) did voice his opinion in class one day when we were having an open discussion regarding the leaders of this country, he said "we are a very hypocritical country...we talk about freedom, yet we take over other countries to try to shove our way of life down their throats...That's what i learned while i was in Iraq.
I have also noticed that Tim McVeigh (who plotted one of the deadliest terror attacks in U.S. history) actually served in the U.S. military BEFORE carrying through with the attacks that killed several Americans.
...My question is: what is it about serving in the military that turns "GunHO" patriots into people who dislike/hate the government?
