Why Do People Prejudge Others By Their Skin Color

I don't judge anybody, to me that's telling somebody they're going to heaven or hell and I can't read anybody's heart. I can discern if somebody is good for me and if they're not good for me I can stay away from them but it has nothing to do with skin color and unless somebody is extremely rude right off the bat I usually get to know them a little bit before I decide if they're good for me or not, but if they continue to hurt me then they're out of my life. I am assertive but I'm not passive and I'm not aggressive. Its healthy to be assertive and it's healthy to keep yourself from being hurt as much as possible by those people that would hurt us for pleasure…

Why do people judge me because of my religion?I don’t know what religion you are, but I’m sorry to say that there are good reasons to judge based on a person’s religion, especially if the judging person has actually known people within the religion. (The more people they know in the religion, the more reasonable the judgment; points taken off if they are holding opinions based on second-hand information or media.)A religion is not just a skin color or gender or a tattoo. It’s a series of beliefs and behaviors, which speaks very highly to the person who holds to them. Yes, people vary in their interpretation of the strictures, but if a religion has a (deserved) reputation for being harsh on people who defy it, then a person is well within their rational rights to make certain assumptons about their beliefs and behaviors.Let me be clear that by “judging” I don’t mean “Ew! I hate them!” I have always spoken out, loudly and clearly, against making trivial, harsh or permanent judgments.However. I would not be remiss in assuming a staunch Catholic or evangelical opposes abortion. That a Southern Baptist disapproves of my glass of wine at dinner. And if a person is a member of a religion who is harsh on defiant people, I will assume that 1) they whole-heartedly believe in its tenets, or 2) they’re okay with belonging to a group who harshly punishes its critics. That doesn’t mean the person can’t be intelligent, loyal, a good worker, or fun to be around. It does mean that I probably shouldn’t invite a Catholic to a pro-choice rally, or give a bottle of wine to a Southern Baptist. That involves judgment.Myself, though I assume that I won’t have much in common with certain religions who are anti-choice or hold women and men to different standards, I’ve always found it interesting to talk with intelligent and discerning church members and find out their position with regards to their church’s tenets. I don’t assume I know everything about Catholics, Mormons and evangelicals. They always surprise me. I always leave myself open to learning something new.

Why do people judge people by their skin color?

First of all there is a difference between prejudice and racist. "Pre-judge" = prejudice. It is a natural state of mind to connect things that are familiar to you to things that are not. If you've had bad experiences with a certain race, or only exposed to that race in the media, then you are obviously going to "prejudge" them.
That is not the same as RACISM. Racism is hating someone for who they are, simply by their race.
EVERYONE is prejudiced to a certain extent. IT IS NATURAL. RACISM is not natural. There is a difference.
Is it racist to think that because someone is tall and black, they play basketball? NO. Is it prejudiced? YES. See the difference?

Why is it a natural instinct to judge others?

Why is it a natural instinct to judge the actions of other people? I know that we all do it, even I on occasion have done it without thinking but I try as hard as possible not to do it. Why does this happen? This hurts the emotions of other people. Why is the natural thought "If they don't do what I do than it must be wrong." Even as I ask this question I know that I am being a bit judgmental of others. Is it even possible to do stuff w/o judgment of other people? Why does it matter in the first place? If the other person is not bothering you than what does their decision matter to you? I mean this sort of makes me a hypocrite but I just would like to now why it happens? How I can stop it. People are right to their opinions but still. why?

Is there more to "race" than skin color?

If everybody looked the same but came from different places would there still be races? Or would we just be recognizing different cultures? Now that I think about it the big deal over races seems silly, cause our different cultures should be more important. Just because someone is the same skin tone as you doesn't mean you share the same culture. Sooo much fuss is made in the world over a variance of skin color from really pale peach to really dark brown. Its so foolish, but there's nothing I can really do about it. Skin color really is as much importance as hair color and eye color. Once again, the only important thing differentiating us is our cultures. Why cant people realize this? Society fail.

Why are Black people Racist towards Each other base on skin Tone i think its stupid they are the same Race?

That's mostly in America and that's mainly because back in slavery days, the lightskinned black person had the privledge to be a house n*gro* (who stayed at the slave owners house, and did the easy work) vs the field n*gro who had to work in the plantation under the hot sun and was treated as less simply because they had darker skin compared to the lightskinned ones. They say this is a heriditary trait they've evolved throughout those years and that's why it continues today still. But not only in America, I myself am a lightskinned black person from East Africa born and raised in Europe.. I myself have been hated on by darkskinned blacks from my homeland or not by jealousy and envy simply because i'm handsome and have a lighter skin complexion. Mind you slavery never happend in my homeland so Idk if that hatred is hereditary or not, it could just be simply jealousy which is an emotion you can find anywhere.

AND BTW YOU ARE COMPLETLY RIGHT, ITS FREAKING RIDICULOUS. ONE LOVE!
