Is my dream of wanting to become an actress stupid to pursue?
I am a nursing student at a 4 yr university. I'll be finishing that up for that will be my back up job. I really want to pursue acting...its been a passion of mine since junior high. In highschool, I was in a couple of theatre plays and my instructor has always said I was a natural. I'm not gorgeous but most people say I'm vivacious...I'm asian. I've told my parents and they are very supportive as long as I finish school. What do u think?

I'm 15 and through out my life i wanted to become an actor but when i told my friends and family members they laughed at me and said you wouldn't make it... well i am not going to listen them that's why i am looking for help here... can you give me any suggestions.. I'm willing to work hard and put dedication to it.. Even if i only do commercials or what ever.. i want to be famous and explore the world..
Why are people so mean on yahoo answers?
I have asked some questions before and I got answers that actually made me cry. I say I want an opinion on my marriage and get You are a child, a horrible wife, I hope you dont have kids, get over it... If you arent here to help then why are you here? does putting people down make you feel better? That is a truely sad thing yall. I have gotten some answers that are very good answers. And they showed a kindness that some of you lack. PLEASE before you decide to pass judgment on others and you feel yourself start to get the itch to be cruel remember that someday you may want advice. You may want some kindness shown to you. Its not hard to be civil and just give the advice with out being rude or mean. Have I struck a nerve anywhere out there? I dont hate anyone, and I try to always treat others with dignity and respect. How can i become a famous Actress?
Im 14 and want to become a famous actress like in movies and stuff, do u know anywhere to go or call that could help me become that, or do u think its a long shot and i should try to look for a different job that id like?! Please help your answers mean allot! :)

You know I am a year older than you, and I felt the exact same way but Will Smith didn't inspire me. I felt the exact same way and I asked a question like this. Ask yourself if you're looking for fame and fortune, or if you really love the work. You can be a working actor without ever becoming well-known, and spend your life doing a job you love. The odds of becoming a star are slim, but I worked for 30 years as an actor in local, regional, and dinner theatre venues, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I loved every minute of it, and I only stopped because I got married, and wanted to be home with my husband. Absolutely give it a try! If you have talent and persistence, you can get steady work. If you don't try, you'll never know, and what's the point in setting yourself up for regrets? And here is another: Well, you should start on stage and move up. some really great actors and actresses started that way. then, once you get good anough and have an agent, you go for screen testing. good luck! being an actor is my dream too! Advice from me: I am scared of the world that is ahead of me but I suggest that you read up on acting books and research everything! That is what I plan to do. Why are people so stupid and can't answer any questions I ask on this thing???
I have asked several questions about different subjects, computer viruses, T.V. show actors, unsolicited telephone calls, on this yahoo ask me thing, and no one ever gives a correct answer. I usually get a better answer just doing a regular internet search. Why are people who use this Ask Me thing so stupid??? [I bet you won't even be able to answer THIS question either!!!]
