Why Do Republicans Like Koch

As a Republican, do you like the Koch brothers? If not, why?

What for?

How would the Republican party do in elections if the Koch brothers stopped any further campaign financing?

My guess is that, overall, they would do much better. By eliminating the "puppetmasters" the GOP candidates would have to play to the general public and, as a result, would see their numbers increase by appealing to a larger base.

Why do the Koch Brothers own the Republican Party?

Wow, I don't know where you got that idea, but they don't. They really, really don't. In fact, if you look at the political history of the Kochs, you'll see just how hard it is to control American politics with money alone.Ideologically, they are right-libertarians. David Koch even ran as the Libertarian Party's Vice-Presidential candidate in 1980. Hmm, that didn't work out so well.Bet you didn't know they each gave $10 million to the ACLU to fight the Bush administration's Patriot Act. That's $10 million from Charles and another $10 million from David.I think the reason you think they "own" the Republican Party is that they did donate heavily in 2012 to defeat President Obama. They also given heavily to "Republican" issues, such as Proposition 23 in California (overturning global warming regulations in that state), and to right-libertarian organizations like the Cato Institute (which they helped found), the Mercatus Institute, and the Fraser institute. They also heavily support, perhaps to the point of "owning", Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Partners, two groups which have funneled money and support to Tea Party groups across the nation. But I've worked on Republican campaigns, and I assure you that I've never met anyone who felt beholden to the Kochs (Mitt Romney might be an exception, but I'm not on a first-name basis with Mitt). Also, I go to all the Republican National Committee meetings (next one is at the end of January), and I've never seen then attend any of those, nor are they ever mentioned there, not even in the closed-door sessions. They're just big, influential donors, who are less "Republican" than most of the other big donors to the party.

Why do republicans love Corporations but hate the Disney Corporation?

Especially when Disney is the only decent corporation. Disney has done way more to challenge our establishments, and challenge the status quo. Most other ones like Monsanto, Microsoft, oil companies, Goldman-Sachs, Koch industries, drug companies, meat packing and the medical industry want to control and oppress all for their own interests.

How do Republican voters justify the Koch brother's recent display of strong control over their legislature?

I personally like the Koch brothers. You may want to read up on them from sources that are not biased. They really are quite interesting. Then there is the Freedom Caucus, another misrepresented group. You could look into the politics of Justin Amash or Rand Paul to get more of a handle on what they are about. Their sin is mostly wanting to follow the Constitution. Then , read about “primarying incumbents”.Republican leadership threatened to primary those congressmen that did not follow lock step with their plans. The Koch brothers offered money to those candidates to fend off these attacks that will come come next election cycle. So I guess to answer your question, it would be yes. I like my congressmen to be principled, fight for the wishes of their constituency, and independent thinkers. The Kochs support acts to equal the playing field against establishment Republicans and their corporate masters.

Is it true the Koch brothers’ cabal and their Republican lackeys will let you have all the guns you want as long as you will let them have all the tax cuts they want?

Is it true the Koch brothers’ cabal and their Republican lackeys will let you have all the guns you want as long as you will let them have all the tax cuts they want?Perhaps you mean tax breaks? I’m against tax breaks because they corrupt the market system. If you did indeed mean “tax cuts”, that sounds like a win-win to me. I’m not a gun enthusiast but I know people who are. They are very knowledgeable about guns and enjoy their collections. And whether you believe it or not, all tax cuts benefit everyone. So I fail to see a downside here.

Why does Blarney Sandlers get so worked up over the Koch Bros.?

All liberals get worked up over people that worked hard and made something of themselves.

Who are the Koch Brothers and why are they so evil?

They started the organization "Americans For Prosperity" which is against labor unions, against minimum wage, against regulation of any kind except regulation on the workers. They are against any kind of taxes what so ever. They are against entitlement programs and all workers' rights. Is that evil enough?
