Why Do So Many Kids These Days Have No Respect For The Things They Get

How come kids these days have no respect. Im talking about kids born earily 90s-2000s?

Yeah, that's a stereotype, but then again it's more of a generalization. I guess there's no difference, but you're right that a good majority of people born then just don't care. I would know because they're my age too. A lot of them really are spoiled and many of them don't understand the hardships others have had. Or they do, except they choose to take their stress out on others, so they are jerks. For the ones who are that way, I also think it's the mentality of "Speak your mind. If they don't like what you have to say, so what?" Like the kid telling you to shut up. Maybe he didn't like what you were saying or how you were talking, so he thought it was right to speak his mind in hopes that you would stop talking. If that's how he was thinking, then I think he took the idea too far. That concept can bend either way though. Haha, I kind of see it as survival of the fittest.

Why do kids these days have no respect for elders?

u know what really pisses me off every year we have a veterans day program at my school and it last about an hour and after its over people always complain "omgosh that was so boring" "i hate those programs" "i was about to fall asleep" etc. i mean some of them died for us! and others that survived put themselves in harm and they don't give 2 cents! i mean the program may not be the most interesting thing in the world, but they gave up a part of their life for years, so i think we can give up one hour every year to listen to their courages story!

Why do kids these days have no respect for their parents?

The children treat their parents the way the parents allow them to. I am also aghast at what I see. I think that the parents, for the most part, both work. I think they try to compensate for the lost time with their kids by buying them TOO many things...the kids get spoiled, talk back, parents back off....how pathetically sad.

Why do you think today's generation have no regard or respect for the older generation?

I would say the free availability of information, globalization and increasing pace of technology are the prime reasons.Availability of information: We use the internet so much more than our parents and with all the information in the world literally on our fingertips, we feel we are smarter than our parents. What we forget is that the knowledge the older generation has is of more practical nature simply because they are more experienced at life than we are.Globalization: In countries like India, older generation have a more orthodox way of thinking while younger generation are more open as they are more exposed to Western culture. Again this makes the younger generation feel “superior” to the older. While I do agree that being open minded is important, that does not mean one gets the right to be disrespectful to people who do not share the same viewpoint.Increasing pace of technology: It is far more difficult for the older generation to keep up with the increasing pace of technology. Watching them struggle with this, it is not uncommon for the younger generation to again feel “superior” to the older. All above points are purely my opinions and any corrections, comments or suggestions are welcome.Cheers !!

Lack of respect from today's youth?

ok i was just gonna get on my soap box...but instead i will leave you with this to ponder......

Children act and think directly on their up bring. They do and say exactly as what they see in their homes. TV has a play in this also anymore since most parents do not do their parental duties. So since your generation are the ones making the decisions in this country and your generation are the CEO's and Marketing Exec's running the major TV stations that promote to our youth.....YOU and YOUR generation are the only ones to blame for the way that my generation and the generations below me have turned out. We are direct by product of "Maximizing Profits" and "Capitalizing a product using attitude"...I like to call that the "Paris Hilton Syndrome" Being a stupid spoiled whhore I quote South Park...is thee thing to be now. But remember...YOUR generation is the one who are airing "The Simple Life".
