Why Do Soctors Say You Need To Fight Your Sickness For Example Cancer

Can a simple blood test tell if you have cancer?

i recently became an exchange student in germany and my german is not perfect, but for the past 11 weeks i have noticed my lymph nodes were swollen. i haven't been sick so i looked online and i read that it could be a number of things including cancer. i went to the doctor and he took quite a bit of blood and told my host mother what was up. she told me that there was no virus or ailment in my body, and not to worry because he checked for cancer and it wasn't that too. now last time i checked, you cant check for certain cancers without a biopsy so i have the feeling that she is just trying to keep me calm and relaxed until the holidays are over. i wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. if my lymph nodes are still swollen after the holidays, i have to go back to the doctors again (orders directly from the doctor)
do i have anything to worry about? its not like i have pain, but i have been overwhelmingly tired all the time lately. can you check for cancer in your neck from a blood sample from your arm? i would like sources if you can, at this point i need real answers not just opinions.
thanks all!

Is a Doctor obligated to inform a sick person of their illness?

Regardless of ability or interest to pursue treatment, are doctors obligated morally or legally to inform a person of their illness or that they suspect an illness?
Are doctors today, not telling patients when they suspect life ending illness because they know the person doesn't have insurance and probably couldn't afford treatment.

Why do I feel depressed when I'm sick?

In my experience there are a few different reasons - or maybe I should say there are a few different kinds of depression - for feeling depressed when you're sick.  First and most obvious is that you feel down because the illness is leaving you low-energy. Second, depending on the illness and your personality, your body is redirecting its resources to deal with the illness. your good mood is lower priority. Third is, possibly, that the illness leaves you in pain and pain makes you grumpy and irritable - irritability is one of the threshold symptoms of clinical depression. Fourth is that pain, illness, being home from work, fever, etc etc all rob you of some of your resilience. Resilience is the opposite of, or antidote to, depression.  And Fifth - the last one I can think of right now - is that after the most acute parts of illness, when you're feeling like you're getting better but you're not better yet, you may have an expectation of feeling better or of doing more than is realistic for you at the moment. You want to be better faster. You want to be back at your "normal" and you're not ready yet. So getting a little better actually leaves you more bummed out than when you were too sick to care. note: I am not a doctor, just someone who's been depressed a lot.

What is your opinion of a Homeopathic Doctor treating cancer?

Do you believe in Natural or Homeopathic treatments for serious illnesses such as Cancer? Do you believe in any "alternative" treatments for illnesses? Is conventional health care the ONLY way to treat our bodies?

Why do some patients die in their sleep (specifically cancer patients)? How does the doctor know the patient is about to die and call their family?

I am not a doctor, or even a nurse, but I have been with several people who were dying of cancer, so I am speaking from experience with friends and family only. Because I am old I have known the deaths of quite a few people. When a cancer patient is very sick indeed and death is close, in order that they have a peaceful death free of pain, very strong painkillers, such as morphine, are used. These have the side effect of inducing a deep sleep. The patient may well be asleep most of the time in the days before they die, so it is not at all surprising that they die in their sleep. The doctor does not always know when the patient is going to die. Twice I have seen them be wrong about this. In one case the patient’s family were called in late at night, and waited around for something to happen for all that night and until late the next evening. Then they had to go home to get some sleep, and the patient passed away while they were not there. The patient was asleep the whole time and not aware of their presence or absence. In one case, many years ago, when the cancer patient was begging endlessly for death, a doctor prescribed a lethal dose of morphine and the family took the patient home and administered it. In those days, end of life pain was not always managed as well as it is now, and the doctor’s action would have been viewed as compassionate. The family obviously did know in this case that the patient would die, and were with her. Some people who are terminally ill from other causes may be in a coma, perhaps as a result of a stroke or an accident. People who die of kidney failure also drift off into a deep sleep prior to death, so it is a gentle way to go. It is also possible for someone to have a fatal heart attack during their sleep. Some people are on life support and the machine is turned off. Twice I have known the life support to be continued for more than 24 hours while family members travelled to say goodbye, but this was not for the benefit of the patient, who knew nothing about it.I have had 6 children, and every birth was different. No childbirth can truly be planned to be as the mother wants it. I suspect that every death is different too, regardless of medical interventions.

If you had some type (any type) of cancer, would you seek a homeopathic treatment?

Suppose you had cancer or some other life threatening illness, would you alternative remedy people seek out homeopathic treatment? How can we encourage more mystics, psychics, nut-jobs, faith healers, etc to use only homeopathic remedies for serious illness so as to rid oursevles of these frauds? And don't you think there should be a law passed requiring homeopaths to use pnly their own remedies when faced with a life threatening sickness?

I am terrified of being diagnosed with diseases and cancer. I give myself bad thoughts when I see something strange about my body. What should I do?

I seriously used to be like this. I think this is one of the main factors why I took medical school—to understand our bodies better, and not to be terrified if something strange happens because I would know exactly what was going on. The more I learn, the more I realize human body is amazing. There are four things I keep in mind when the this kind of anxiety attacks:Please note that we are always surrounded by bacteria and other nasty stuffs. We have 10,000 germs in each of our tooth and another 4,742 all over our mouth. And we fight them back everyday—you might not know it, but our immune system is working day and night fighting these germs back for you. Not just the microscopic cells inside our bodies, but your skin is even also a physical barrier between you and those nasty germs. They better stay there and not get into our body. A fun fact: HIV will never be able to penetrate the depth of our skin (amazing, isn’t it?), except when there’s an open wound. So keep yourself clean, keep your wounds clean (if there are any), and you’re basically good to go. Our immune system is very legible to keep us healthy, so don’t worry.Don’t look up your symptoms on the internet because the results are going to freak you out. Seriously, a tiny bulge anywhere in our body is a sign of cancer, according to the Blogspots. Consult to a person you trust, like doctor acquaintances or so. They will give you a more reasonable explanation.Keep in mind: cancer and most of the diseases you’re worried about don’t happen overnight. It takes time for them to make us sick, and it’s usually something noticeable (probably except for some diseases). If you think you’re exposed to any contagious factors, then stay alarmed for any strange symptoms happening to your body. Aside from it, just relax.Four things to keep you away from any diseases: keep yourself clean, exercise regularly, eat healthy (take vitamins, if possible), and get fair amount of sleep. Carry hand sanitizer everywhere if that makes you comfortable. If you’ve done all of those stuffs I mentioned, boom, you really don’t have to worry about your health. Just don’t overthink.I keep those things in mind and I worry less now. I hope it works for you!
