Why Do Some People Write

Why do some people write with two "&" signs?

I keep seeing people write like that. They use a sentence with the word "and" in it and they write two of "and" signs like this-&&. I am just wondering why they write like that. Because I am seeing that so much on facebook and everywhere. Can someone tell me why they do that?

Why are people writing God with a dash (-)?

It's a sign of respect amongst Jewish people to write the name of G-d with a dash in the middle instead of an "o". It stems from the belief that G-d is so Holy that writing His name would be desecrating it. During the time when the Torah (first 5 books of the Bible) was written, the men whom God spoke the words of the Bible to would break their reed pen and get a new one after writing His name, since it was so holy. It seems a little extreme, but it is a sign of respect and a tradition. In writing the Torah, the scribes would write an acronym of G-d's name :YHVH. This is pronounced "YahWeh" in other faiths, but there is no W in the Hebrew language. Jewish people do not pronounce this name and instead substitute "Adonai" whenever they see it written. In prayer, the Jewish people usually address G-d as Adonai. It's not ridiculous once it's explained, and the Jewish people are not trying to shun G-d's name. Rather, they are showing appreciation for His holiness.

I know some Christian people who do this, too, writing "G-d" or "L-rd".

Side note: When you see "G-d" written, please don't pronounce it as "Gee-dee" or "Gee dash dee", say "God".

Why do some people write out the "at" in their email addresses on websites - and not write "@?"

Yeah, it's to avoid robots crawling web pages looking for email addresses. That said, I'm not sure if it really works -- it would be easy enough to look for these variant forms and add those to the spam list.
