Why Do Some Songs Say

In some songs, why do they say Dog Chow?

It actually isn't Dog Chow. It is Dark Child. Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins is a songwriter, record producer, and musician. The word 'Darkchild' appears in many of his tracks. The Tiffany Evans/ Bow Wow song was produced by Darkchild. The Pussycat Dolls song is a Darkchild remix. You can also hear Darkchild in a song Brandy sings - Top of the World (a Darkchild Remix).

Why do I cry over some songs?

Interesting to me that almost every single answer to this question has assumed an emotional response due to triggered memories. Perhaps that's why, but then, I doubt you would have asked your question; you'd know why, as you would relive those strong memories and experiences. Fairly obvious connection.I'm going to give a different answer based on my own experience. I think music (with our without singing) can be emotive in a general sense. Not sad, not mournful, not anything specific. Just powerful in pure, undirected fashion. You say “a song that's not sad or emotional,” but I take that to mean specifically emotional. Your crying response may be related to the ability of music to make your feel, not one way or another, but to powerfully open you up. I've experienced this, and it often gives me chills/goosebumps and brings me to tears. Not because I'm sad, mad, happy, or excited. But because there is an immensity of feeling, of emotion. It's like the raw emotional substrate upon which all emotions are built. And it moves us powerfully. These experiences are not based on specific connections you've made between a song and an experience. They aren't nostalgia. They aren’t due to memories, repressed or otherwise. They are simply part of what it is to be human. We are innately musical, and this is a manifestation of this fact. Not sure if this describes your experience or helps you, but it describes my own experience with instances like you mentioned in your question. I'm not emotional in a specific way. I'm fundamentally moved. You are OK. It's totally OK. In fact, it's beautiful. It's part of what makes us human. And it's one of the more powerful, rich experiences one can have. Treasure these experiences.

Why don't some songs say who they feature?

So you're asking why doesn't an artist get title credits when the song is released?  This is actually a newer phenomenon in Pop music.  Artists have been gathering together since the beginning of music to share their ideas, talents and time to make a great recording, or just to jam together with people they respect.  Musicians get into jam sessions with friends or other musicians just to see what happens.  If the session is recorded for release, then the credits in the album's notes may list the players. With modern Pop music, the featured artist in the title is there for one of two reasons,  so that the featured artist's fans will also buy the song, or to bolster the career and sales of the recording artist.  It's all about the sales numbers.  One or the other needs the credits right up front to make this thing sell.

Why does Justin Bieber say 'Mafia' in the start of some of his songs?

In the beginning of a couple of his songs such as Down To Earth he whispers 'Mafia'? Does this have some sort of meaning? Anyone know?

P.S If you don't answer and just hate on Justin Bieber it'll just show me what sort of person you are so please don't bother.

Why do some of kid cudi's songs say (Nightmare)?

Yeah what everyone said is right and when he was a kid he had night terrors, which are like really realistic bad nightmares, so hes just talking about his life.

Why do some artists say "mafia" at the beginning of their songs?

Justin Bieber's song, "down to earth", David Archuleta's song, "running", and Miley Cyrus', "can't be tamed."
They all say "mafia" at the beginning. Why?? What does that mean?

Why does some songs touch our heart?

I'd prefer "invoke an emotional response" rather than "touch our heart".... Hearts are blood pumps.... That aside... If you had a formula for that you could likely make a lot of money.  We can see why the lyrics to some songs might well do this.. If the song talks about some life experience we find resonant, or even one to which we have some empathy..... That's relatively easy to understand. When John Prine does "Mexican Home", and says...."My father died on the porch outside...On an August afternoon..."   That resonates with me, as my father did indeed die outside on an August afternoon.But... I get a very similar emotional response to hearing certain sections of entirely instrumental music like Sibelius or Shotokovich or even Mark Knopfler. Why?   I don't believe anyone can provide a definitive answer at present.
