Why Do U.s Sill Have 6 Military Bases Inside Of U.k

Is it true that military bases have strip clubs INSIDE?

ONCE upon a TIME... YES (or close) !!

I remember back in 1986 while going through Aviation Warfare Systems Operator (Aircrew) training on Naval Air Station, North Island we would get out of class early on Friday and head over to the "4-6er" Club for beer and dancers !! It was a common thing on Fridays, and I heard the Chief Petty Officer's club was even wilder.

Not strippers, but Go-Go dancers that certainly pushed the envelope. They would also have a "Lingerie Show" on Saturday evenings !! That all disappeared in 1988 with "Political Correctness".

I also saw the same thing in 1987 up at the Canadian Base in Esquimalt, BC.... but we just went into town (Victoria, BC) because there were REAL strippers of world renown !!

And YES... almost every US Base has a movie theater... because most bases were built in WWII and located away from population centers.

The joke during the Cold War was the Air Force built the Cinema, Clubs, Bowling Lanes, Housing, and Golf Course... then went back to Congress for more money to build hangars and a runway !! Meanwhile, the Navy did it backwards and never asked for extra money.

Are US military bases in the UK deemed US territory?

Original Question: Are US military bases in the UK deemed US territory?I have heard that a lot of the US bases are actually shared bases with the British military, does this mean that the US military personnel are not allowed to have unlimited autonomy in the bases?US military installations in the UK (and indeed every US base everywhere in the world), are governed by an agreement between the US and the Host Nation called the ‘Status of Forces Agreement’. This agreement outlines the interface between military personnel and the UK personnel and government.Part of the agreement lays out how US Military personnel are dealt with for any crimes they may commit. Traffic offences are between the individual and the local LEOs and Courts(Helpful hint: When in Scotland, given a choice between hitting a sheep and hitting the farmer in a auto accident, aim for the farmer. It’s cheaper. Much, much cheaper.)Most low level crime will be investigated by the local police, the evidence turned over to the offender’s CO, and punishment meted out by the Command. Since any CO assigned to a OUTUS facility is well aware of his status as a de facto ambassador, this is NOT a mercy. The Offender will be tried, and will pay, usually a much stricter penalty than the locals would have applied.Capital crimes (murder/rape/kidnapping/ et al) the offender is handed over the the local authorities to do with as they will… And the Offender is NOT expelled from the service. Once the locals are done with him, the Offender will face Courts Martial and Uncle Sam will get his pound of flesh. I ended up sitting in on such a Courts Martial and the offender would not shut his mouth. After 5 years for stealing a car in Glasgow the Navy had him back and was going through the motions so they could send him to Philadelphia Naval Prison. The idiot claimed that they couldn’t try him, because it would be ‘Double Jeopardy’. The Full Bird chairing the CM explained that it couldn’t be Double Jeopardy because the US hadn’t tried him for anything before that day.

Why are there US military bases around the world but no foreign military bases in US?

I know you Americans don’t see it that way, nor the american people think along that lines (not most, at least). Neither want to do so your “allied” governments, and most of them will not tell it openly. But american bases in other nations territory are mostly a reminder of American hegemony. In a way, most western nation are “occupied” territory.I’m Spanish, and I will tell you something, food for though, about american bases in Spain. They start with Franco, the fascist dictator. At some point, USA start to see Franco as a potential ally against communism, instead of a fascist remnantSo they make treaties, and put bases. But Franco was a… unstable ally. Spain denied the use of the bases sometimes, for various reasons, and also, Spain wanted to do some things (like develop an atomic weapon) that USA didn’t like.In fact, there was a huge confrontation between Carrero Blanco, Spanish First Minister, and Kissinger. The next morning, Carrero Blanco was blown out in the sky by the terrorist group of ETA, using resources and tactics hardly usual to them. They received some help from some outside people, never discovered. But anyone can join the dots, uh?Thing is: American bases in Spain are situated in a way that would allow, in the scenario of a “rebel” Spain, the quick and effective invasion from north morocco. The truth is: Spain was a unstable ally. Morocco was a much more stable ally. And the backup plan for USA, in case of a regimen change in Spain, was allow and facilitate a Moroccan invasion of Spain. And that’s why the bases are where they are.As you can imagine, many people then, and even now, are hardly unhappy, and have no love at all in its heart for the USA. And we think that could very well fuck off from our sovereign soil.Don’t take me wrong: I understand yous strategy, and can hardly blame you for it. In the same way that you can hardly blame me for being royally pissed off with your foreign policy, and really, really like to tell you to fuck off.

Can you buy tobacco products on US military bases?

yes you can.

personally (and this is if it were up to me), i would ban not only the sale of it on military bases, i would ban the SMOKING OF and use of CHEW on military bases, even if you are in your own car. if you are on base, or anything attached to the base, the roads, the buildings (and you would be driving on the roads belonging to the base) - anywhere within the fence, it would be banned. Military or civilian - doesn't matter. if you are on base, it is a no-go. if you are OFF base (even at home) and smoke, it can be career ending.

Now why would i be a hard as.$ on the matter? a handful of reasons:

(1) you stink when you smoke. i don't care about your gum or breathmints. it's in your hair, your clothes, YOU SMELL

(2) off of (1) above, it is about professional image. Nothing makes you look like a BUM in uniform faster than a cigarette, pipe, wahtever, hanging off your lip. professional appearance goes out the window.

(3) allowing it to be sold on base gives the image that the military ENDORSES the use of tobacco products. I think it is hypocritical. they know it is not healthy for you, they know it leads to increased down time because of trips to a clininc and smoking related ilnesses, but they sell what harms you?

(4) non-somkers typically work more hours, has fewer down days or down time, healthier, don't go to the clinic as often, have fewer long term related illnesses. this saves precious $$$ for the service.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

why WON'T it happen? $$$$. smokes are HUGE profit makers for the BX/PX, etc on base. the profits help pay for the cost of offsetting other programs. plus, when you havea 'cough', you buy cough medicine, and the BX/PX gets a cut of that.

it's not about 'public health' - it's all about the money. almost everything in life is

Being a navy sailor do you stay covered inside a car on a base?

I believe you are always covered except indoors. The exception is if you are under arms or wearing a duty belt. In those circumstances you are covered indoors.

Did India ever offer a military base to the USA or did the USA ever ask India for a military base in India?

YesSeveral times,Charbatia was used for high altitude recon of China during the incursion of 1962 and afterwards up until Nehru's Death.Hell, He became so desperate he asked for nearly 10,000 US air force personnel to support i don't remember exactly how many fighters, refuelling planes and what not he had asked by personally writing a letter to US President kennedy. Kennedy thought that nehru was desperate and since china went back he just hid the letter so as not to embarrass the Indian Prime Minister. When America attacked taliban in AfghanistanIndia had offered all operational assistance to the United States, including use of its facilities, in any operations launched in pursuit of the perpetrators of the 11 September attack. Importantly Indian intelligence officials provided the United States with needed information concerning the financing and training of Islamic extremist groups in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Indian government had also offered the United States the use of its territory for staging any military operations in Afghanistan. On the naval front, India provided a frigate for escorting coalition shipping through the Straits of Malacca, made shipyards available for coalition ship repairs and opened ports for naval port calls. India offered the US its air bases and provided the Northern Alliance with logistical support. The Indian Army opened a hospital in Tajikistan, to treat injured Northern Alliance soldiers. India also loaned Mi-17 helicopters to the Northern Alliance. There are Several Instances which might even have not been made public. What people don't understand is that countries help countries in trouble if it does not harm their own national Interests.Hope it helps.

Does Mexico have any secret Military Bases like the US?

I doubt Mexico has any ultra-secret military run bases like Area 51....however.....it's a good question to pose: Do any OTHER countries have their version of "Area 51"?

The answer there is YES:

Russia has not just one---but TWO.

China purportedly has ( or had ) one that may have moved to Hong Kong

It's rumored the UK has a military testing facility inside their Mi-6 building---although I think that whisper is spun by James Bond fans. Another legend purports England's "Area 51" is cleverly hiding in plain sight---and has yet to be noticed!!

Nazi Germany, during WW2, purportedly had FOUR ultra-secret military experiment facilities during the height of the Third Reich---where some of the X-files type stuff was being seriously looked into.

If we wake up to little shiny silvery flying saucers with Russian Red Stars on them---and see Commie pilots "mooning" us----then we'll know the CIA has not done their job.
