Why Do Women Pluck All Their Eye Brows Off

Who do women have no eyebrows?

So I’m seeing all these videos of women taking off there makeup and they have very little eyebrow hair, but when I saw any man they have tons of eyebrow hair. Why do women have no eyebrow hair, is it because of the chemicals in the makeup or do they just pluck?

Why do girls/women pluck their eyebrows?

I couldn't agree with you more. We pluck our eyebrows to keep them neat-looking and to keep us pretty (haha). Unfortunately, a lot of women either don't know how to pluck or they over-fantasize a certain look which in reality do not suit them at all.

Why do some women shave their eyebrows off then draw on fake ones?

Shaving eyebrows has been in and out of fashion since the 1920's but in the present generation you only see ghetto chicks, goths, trannies and asian women (especially popular among japanese youth) doing the deed. People most likely do this because they think it is edgier, easier than plucking, and/or want to change the natural shape of their brow. Another theory is that the natural brow is so fine and sparing which is hereditary among those of asian decent (I know, I am half filipino myself) for example, shaving and penciling or even tattooing is a trade-off.

Is it a sin to pluck your eyebrows?

No! And i dont think there are any religions that forbid it!

Haha. I can just imagine if it was a sin it would be in the bible as "Thou shalt not pluck thy eyebrows" Bahahah that would be funny.
Lol hope that didn't offend anybody :P

Should men groom their eyebrows? Why or why not?

Should men groom their eyebrows? As with questions about whether women should or should not depilate their legs, underarms, or any other region, it’s up to the individual what they choose to do with their own body.In my personal opinion - yes, most men are more attractive when their eyebrows are groomed to some reasonable level. The über-hub is the absolute opposite of a metrosexual. He got a pedicure - once - under duress with his mother and me.He hated it with a burning passion and swore it would never happen again.Queries about eyebrow grooming (for his prodigious unibrow and crazy errant brows) were met with a complete stonewall and solid ‘NO’.So, being the excellent, accommodating wifey I am, I did what any good wife would do.I got him good and liquored up, to the point where he was snoozing in his recliner.I folded a washcloth and placed it over his eyes, blocking out all light.I leaned his chair all the way back and positioned a floor lamp directly over his head.I got my tweezers and went to fuckin’ town on his eyebrows. He, of course, roused himself after the first particularly painful pluck. I soothed him, gave him another sip of the magical sleepy elixir, and went back to work. The next morning I showed him the results, and he was grudgingly approving. This is now a practice I repeat about twice a year. He’s never consented while sober, but has gotten more pliable while under the influence.Once, he even asked if it was time, because his unibrow was coming back.Obviously he wants it, even if he once said no.I’m an eyebrow rapist. I admit it freely. My man is well-groomed and I have no regrets.

Why do people wax their eyebrows off and then pencil them in?

Speaking as someone who's naturally eyebrow-challenged, sometimes there is not enough hair to form any sort of attractive shape. And if you're going to pencil them in anyway, you might as well do it on a smooth surface. I went in for a waxing once. This was in my 30s, when I had more eyebrow hairs than I did now. The waxing person took one look at me and said, "Oh, honey, there's nothing to wax!" And she warned me that waxing would possibly damage the few hairs I had left. Luckily, at the time, extremely thin, penciled eyebrows were in style, so for a few years I simply bleached my eyebrow hairs, trimmed them neatly (well, as much as I could given the fact that the hairs are few and far between) and then drew on a brow with a sticky eyeliner-type pencil in a taupe shade. Then I would dust it with face powder and set it with a liquid bandage product. (My fake eyebrow routine took some time and a lot of experimentation to perfect, if you couldn't tell.)Flash forward 15 years and my eyebrows are more or less nonexistent. I've moved on to an eyebrow powder, which has some texture and sets well on bare skin. It's funny, now that I think about it, my entire makeup routine basically evolved around my lack of eyebrows and refusal to wear bangs (I could cover up the eyebrowlessness better this way). What happens when I don't wear eyebrow pencil, or makeup for that matter? Well, my features kind of disappear, especially when I am tan (I have light eyes and olive skin), and I personally think I look weird, though my mom and sisters also have extremely sparse eyebrows. Repercussions, other than looking a bit weird? I don't think there are any. I mean, everyone has something about their appearance that's a little odd, whether it be an oddly proportioned facial feature, overly thick eyebrows, flaring nostrils and the like. I personally don't know anyone who waxes their brows and draws them back on, but I imagine they either like the look or don't want to bother with shaping and plucking.

When did people start to pluck their eyebrows?

Hair removal has always been part of men and women beauty or esthetic routine. Since Prehistoric time to our contemporary time (including Antiquity and Medieval time), men and women used every kind of tools, create paste and cream to get rid of their body hair including eyebrows.Excluding prehistoric men and women, during Antiquity and Medieval time it was usually men and women from upper class who removed their hair. It was a social distinction. There were many codes with body hair (including eyebrows) and hair in manies cultures around the world used by men and women. And each code was proper to each culture. In Western, at the end of Medieval time, men and women were fully covered by clothes and so many of them kept their body hair.Since 1915, following the launch of the first feminine razor on American market, the female hair removal become more and more popularized. Women started to wear clothes that show some part of their bodies like legs or armpits. To fit with the ideal of women beauty and feminity showed in publicities, they removed visible hairs. With time, medias, sex industries, the practice become a standard in many, many countries in the world.

Why do some women shave their eyebrows and paint them back on?

This, to me, is one of the mysteries of this world. The way I see it, it comes from an irresistable urge to control even the smallest details of their appearance, which itself comes from an inability to like their own body the way it is. To be frank, painted eyebrows never look good. Never. It never looks real and it just sticks out. Sometimes, it makes an otherwise perfectly fine looking woman look like a clown. It looks like the woman has lost it, kind of like these women who are so addicted to plastic surgery that they no longer look human. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but I wish people would just accept their bodies the way they are -- I've never found a woman to be less desirable because of her [natural] eyebrows. To boot, guys don't even care about eyebrows. I've yet to see a woman's natural eyebrows I found odd: just normal ones or the painted ones.A friend of mine told me her friend spends 2 hours a day drawing on the "perfect" eyebrows. When I think of all the things I could achieve with an extra 2 hours a day...

What do guys think about plucked or tattooed eyebrows of women?

Guys aren’t a group who think the same about much, except sex. You assume they discuss women’s eyebrows. It would be a very unusual man who did.I’ve never had a man notice my tattooed or microbladed eyebrows because they don’t look much different than natural eyebrows or penciled eyebrows.I have pale eyebrows. Without pencil, which I’m not very good at getting straight first thing in the morning, or tattoo, I have no visible eyebrows.Cosmetic Tattoo and microblading uses semi permanent ink, not regular tattooed forever ink. This means it fades quickly. My first tattooed eyebrows faded to orange after a few years. The eyeliner washed away sooner and I’m left with a couple of bits of tattooed eyeliner that looks like I haven’t cleaned my eye make up off.Microblading lasts about 3 years max they tell me. It’s much more natural looking than tattoo unless you’ve had a great cosmetic artist who incorporated different color shades.Frankly it’s a rare man who is observant enough to pick out microblading from natural eyebrows.
