Why Do You Think The Bible Is True Politically Speaking Of Course

Politically speaking, why do very religious people tend to be conservative, and atheists more liberal?

Because conservative Christians tend to ignore the passages in the New Testament that they don’t like. They ignore the parable of the Good Samaritan, they ignore the fact that Jesus was an itinerant who had no personal possessions except the clothes he stood up in and gave teachings such as those to the ‘rich young man’ “go, sell your possessions, give to the poor, then come and follow me’. They ignore that he said you cannot follow mammon and God. They ignore that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. They ignore that their God created and loves the non-white people they fear so much every bit as much as He loves them and their children, and that according to their own teachings He died to save them. Yet I’ve seen Christian forums describing their opponents as ‘dirt’. The very people their God, who they say they love so much, died to save and they take it upon themselves to pour vitriol on them. So much for turning the other cheek! So much for loving your enemy and praying for him. They can’t even love those who simply disagree with them. There seems to be very little compassion or humility in the religious right but a great deal of cruelty and spite. So many of them approve of Trump, a man who of hatred and lies. You hear fatuous phrases such as ‘God is using DJT as part of His plan’. It beggars belief. That a God of ‘love’ needs a man of hate and habitual lies to do his will. They are driven by fear, the very opposite of love. Also, they have a very tenuous relationship with the truth. They are anti-science. The denial of evolution reminds me of the church’s persecution of Galileo when it put him on trial for saying that the Earth was not the centre of the universe. It took 359 years to officially admit it was wrong! So much for humility. The problem with conservative Christians is that they put belief before reason and this makes them gullible.

Biblically speaking, can a Democrat be a Christian?

It may be possible.

Jesus taught us to love one another, but did not tell us to set up an economic system and taxes that would encourage companies to outsource jobs to sweatshops. His example that the things we do to the least among us is as we are doing them unto Him may mean that denying employees health care insurance so that investors may buy bigger houses, vacation homes, more cars, etc., is not appropriate.

He may not agree with our approach to attack a country that had not attacked us, continuing to occupy the country we had attacked without reason, costing tens of thousands of civilian lives.

He taught that all are our brothers, but did not make an exception for us to incarcerate and torture persons, denying them access to courts and due process.

He never condemned gays. Probably too busy preaching about love.

He never condemned abortion. Again, probably devoted too much time telling persons to care about each other.

He told followers to go into the world to preach the good news. He warned them to "accept neither gold nor silver", but he overlooked the advantages of big church buildings, jumbotrons, limos, and and other accoutrements for successful preachers.

So I guess that some Democrats and some Republicans are falling a little short of expectations.

Jewish people, do you think it is annoying when right wingers pretend to support Israel?

Ebin, who gave you the right to speak on behalf of all Jews? You are a dirty, hate-filled shitlamic rat.

By the way, your ugly name means "F...ed" in one slavic language. Very becoming to you, bin sharamuta luti.

allah hu wakber 5 times...

America (and American Jews, of course) and Israel will always stand united in your way to "universal shitlamic caliphate" - be assured.

Why is the vatican so powerful in world politics ?

That's a question I would love for the Catholic Church themselves to answer, and the Church itself would have to answer.

It's especially confusing since the Bible teaches that the Christians are to remain no part of the world

"If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you" - John 15:19

"Adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God" - James 4:4

and that Jesus himself, the founder of Christianity refused to become involved in the politics of his day

"Hence when the men saw the signs he performed, they began to say: “This is for a certainty the prophet that was to come into the world.” Therefore Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone." - John 6:14,15

and that the true ruler of the world until Jesus takes over control of earths affairs? Would be Satan the Devil

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,  having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness,  betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,  having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5

"The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one" - 1 John 5:19

So all I can say is ...

Good question, I would like to hear an answer from the Catholic Church

Why is it that liberals twist the bible to fit their agenda?

Libs do this because they think its a gotcha. What's so stupid and pathetic is how they proudly announce that they don't believe a "2,000 year old book," but then think wrongly that they have the authority to tell Christians what Jesus meant. But in the same breath say that Jesus never existed.

It's a special kind of lib stupid. "Zombie G" does that very thing.

Romare is wrong. Jesus (God) did mention homosex and abortion. He called it an abomination, and adultery. He also said these people would not get into heaven unless they turned from their sin. Jesus (God) also said Thou shalt not kill. Killing babies is what abortion does.
