Does auto insurance cover a person or an automobile? What if someone drives your insured car and they have none

You will covered in any vehicle as long as they have insurance and you have permission to drive the car. You do not have to have insurance if you do not own a car. What would you be insuring? The person who owns the car is to have the insurance on that vehicle. If you get into an accident then the insurance they have on the vehicle is the what would cover it. If they have full coverage then the car and you ar covered. If they only have liability then only the other person and car that you hit are covered. As far as your husband car, you are covered not matter what because you live in the same house as he does. Everyone in the house is covered to drive that car even if they are not listed on the policy.

Is it okay to abbreviate a company's name in writing a cover letter?

Yes, it’s all right to abbreviate the company’s name as long as it’s something appropriate. For example, instead of Costco Wholesale, there is nothing wrong with your simply using Costco. But if you were to use “C.W.,” that’s not acceptable. With a place that has a long name like Macedonian Human Rights Movement International,it would be all right to refer to them as MHRMI or Macedonian Human Rights. But if you used MHR, that would not be ok. So there are limitations on how you can abbreviate when it comes to resumes and cover letters.FYI, another poster had referenced the global law firm of Allen & Overy LLP. Yes, they are known as A&O among employees and others. But there is another law firm called O’Connell and Aronowitz. We also have A.O.E Law & Associates Inc. If you were to use A&O for these other two, that wouldn’t make you look good at all. Especially since we’re dealing with companies all in the legal profession. So it’s not quite as simple as you may have first thought!

What legal work does one need to do to start an online business in NYC?

It’s a difficult question as what you will need will vary depending on the exact details of your business.  Nonetheless, below are a few key areas that online businesses generally need help with when setting up:Selection of Business Entity:  For most entrepreneurs, entity choice generally boils down to three types: C-Corp, S-Corp and LLC.  If you are looking to raise institutional capital, the most common entity type is a Delaware C-corp.  If on the other hand, you aren’t really looking for outside funding, an LLC may be a better option for you since it allows for “pass-through” taxation.  That means you will be able to offset the initial losses from the business on your personal tax return.Terms of Service & Privacy Policy:  When you set up your online business, you will want a detailed terms of service in place , which is an agreement between your business and users of the site.  In general terms, it will outline how users are able to interact with your site and covers matters such as content and IP ownership and permitted uses of the site.  Similarly, a privacy policy will cover what information is stored on the site and how it can be used.Trademark Protection - Your business will likely have a logo and name that you should get trademarked.  A registered trademark allows you to create brand value over time by preventing others from using your logo/name for similar purposes.Website Development Agreement:  If you are hiring a developer to build out your site, make sure there is an agreement in place between the business and the developer.  A website development agreement will, among other things, clarify who owns the IP, what work is to be performed, and how the developer will be compensated. It is really important to get an attorney involved early on to make sure the above aspects are thought through carefully and prepared for your particular business needs.  Check out ShouldiSign.com, an online legal marketplace that connects businesses with pre-vetted attorneys for fixed-fee legal work.  Simply post a request, receive fixed-fee quotes and select the attorney that best meets your needs.Any questions, just shoot me a message.

Furnace needs replacing, will homeowner's insurance cover it?

Sorry; it won't. The furnace had to be damaged as a result of a covered peril. Wear and tear is not covered under your policy. I am in the same predicament. I will need a new furnace within a year according to my oil company. What a horrible expense!
