You want drugs to make you feel like everybody else.If you are on any psychotropics, they will mess up almost all street drugs.Get therapy, Get better Doctors. Why does doing drugs feel so good?

The scientific reasons that why drugs make you feel good are because of their chemical formula. After entering into the body drugs effects the brain and release ‘dopamine’ which makes us feel good and happy. Various drugs have various effects on body. Some drugs creats impact on nervous system and makes you feel relaxed and satisfied. That's the basic essential of a drug. they are chemically created in such a way to make you feel relaxed and good.Drugs releases many pleasure creating chamicals in body. It effects the memories so people forget their problems for a while. Human brain remembers the feelings , so once you take drugs than your body demands it. If you satisfies the demand then it asks for more and then it becomes worst, you can not do any thing without having drugs. The question comes here that on the first place, why do people take drugs ?Well, there are some psychological reasonswe have created our society in such a way that people and mostly teenagers feel that drugs are Symbol of higher lifestyle.People feel that taking drugs is a symbol of high standard living. In movies, series, and in our surroundings we see people taking drugs when they are depressed or in truble. So indirectly it creats a psychological impact on brain that taking drugs in miseries or problems will help you solve them. And it has also become a way to show people that you are depressed and need sympathy. Thus, drugs are just taken for temporary artificial pleasure. So avoid taking them.Take care.. :)

What is the effect of cocaine in a person with ADHD?

The reverse of someone without it. Because people with ADHD have a dopamine deficiency in their brains, and cocaine essentially floods the brain with dopamine, cocaine in effect balances and stabilizes the neurochemical environment of an ADHD individual. Whereas for a person with a balanced dopamine system (non-ADHD) cocaine would cause them to become MORE energetic and hyper, cocaine causes ADHD people to become more focused and calm. This is speaking from personal experience and observing other ADHD people on coke. The non-ADHD people end up blabbing to each other all night and want to go out for walks or hit the club. The ADHD people just want to sit on the couch, smoke a cigarette and stare at the wall.Cocaine also makes ADHD people particularly irritable, because the sensation of having their brain dopamine stabilized is not euphoric. It’s unsettling and depersonalizing, yet even more addicting to an ADHD individual hating every second of the experience than it is to someone getting euphoria from the drug, because in a way it’s a “fix” for the brain’s imbalance. An ADHD cocaine addict suffers most because they not only experience severe depersonalization and distance from their “true selves” when on the drug, they also don’t really get a true experience of euphoria from it anytime besides for the first or second time, and will spend the rest of their attempts to get high in relative discomfort, shooting for a star that they’ll never be able to reach.

Does Xanax affect a person's personality?

It sounds like your friend has panic disorder with agoraphobia (which I have).

Xanax can be a great drug. It can cause anterograde amnesia. Anterograde amnesia is the inability to create new memories after taking the medication (technically the memories are chemically destroyed before they reach the hypocampus). This is the same phenomena as if a person drinks very heavily for a night then can't remember half of the night. Taking Xanax alone long term is typically reserved for very severe cases where other drugs failed.

I have been house bound even room bound (I could enter two rooms of a massive house). It can destroy your life. I took almost every drug but Xanax made it possible for me to walkout side. I excelled in school, I became more social, I could focus more easily, it helped a hypersomnia sleeping disorder I have (which is highly paradoxical) and I am now in medical school and still taking my modest dose of Xanax XR. And Xanax XR is best for long term use.

She might be on too high of a dose and that is were the amnesia is coming from. And she will probably develop tolerance so the amnesia might go away over a few weeks. But it sounds like that is the only con. The odd behaviours she had sound like they were a problem. It would be hard to speculate how the Xanax exactly changed everything.

I am sure you don't want her on any medications and if she takes any other meds then that could change the situation. For example taking Temazepam or other sleeping medications and taking Xanax during the day can increase risk of side effects.

Why do drugs effect people differently?

Not everybody has the exact same makeup or biology. You are generally the same as other humans but are not an exact copy of your parents. or most other people. Some people have blue eyes, some green, some brown, some black, some even had two colours.Your exact biological and chemical makeup is different as well. Some people are prone to disease, others are not. Some people will get Alzheimer's some people won’t. Some people are genetically predisposed to get cancer, others are resistant.Your body is a mix of chemicals, genes, aminio acids and other biological material that is different from the exact mix of others. Some people are allergic to peanuts, others are not. Some people will die if stung by a bee, most will not. Pain Killers and alcohol put me to sleep, its not quite the same for other people. I am diabetic, and you are not (or maybe you are, but not everyone is). Some people catch the flue easily, thankfully I don’t.A specific drug may affect you more than it affects me, or vice versa. When I tried marijuana in my younger days, I never felt much of anything so I never went that route.

What are some positive ways drugs have affected /changed you and your life?

Thanks for the A2A.I was addicted to pain pills which turned into heroin. I've spent a bit thinking about this question. One thing my addiction/recovery taught me was if I can make it through the hell withdrawal, I can do pretty much anything. I never wanted to quit smoking and go to college, but after I knew that one little thing and it gave me the confidence to do those things, I did them. Another thing, I didn't have a very good childhood and always questioned if my parents loved me or even cared. After years of doing the shit I was doing, I realized they truly did care. They never turned their backs on me, they never gave up hope even when I didn't have any for myself. I hold that very close to my heart today.During my addiction, I realized who I really am as I person, I learned things about myself that I never knew.I learned (technically after I was clean for awhile) that I didn't like being numb, I hated being numb. I needed to feel emotions whether good or bad, it makes me a better person. Being an addict, it made me have a lot of compassion for other people. I understand others struggles and deeply care. I really want to help other people now, not just myself. It also taught me that I can't hold everything inside until I explode, I need to share feelings and be open. The most important thing of all is, I learned life is a gift and shouldn't be taken for granted. To live life the best I can and continue to get better as a person everyday. I would say all of those things are positive, at least in my book.
