Why Does Best Buys Force You To Activate Your Contract Phone At The Store

Is buying a smartphone full price w/o contract better?

Can anyone answer my questions about smartphones?

1) What's the difference in buying a smartphone for full retail price at an electronics store with no contract (Example: Buying a Samsung for $400 at a Best Buy without contract) to buying a smartphone w/ contract but at a much smaller price (Buying the same $400 Samsung for $100 but w/ data plan etc.)

2) Let's say I buy a smartphone without a data plan and at a full retail price. Does that mean that I can basically go to any data provider and have my smartphone under their plan instead of buying a smartphone from a data provider? (Example: I take the $400 Samsung that I bought and instead of buying the data plan for Verizon, would I be able to take it to T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint etc and have them activate my smartphone?)

The reason I'm asking these questions is because I don't want to buy a smartphone w/ an expensive monthly plan. I'm new to this BTW

Can I break an enlistment contract after swearing in the Air Force?

Ok, if you are in the DEP program and have Not taken your Second Oath of Enlistment , signed your contract and shipped to Boot Camp (usually all done on the day you ship out to boot camp) , then you can back out of DEP. You will be within your rights. You will need to draft a letter to the Recruiting Command stating you wish to be released from DEP and no longer wish to join. The recruiter may be angry and try to talk you out of backing out but there is nothing they can truly do. So if you get any threats then they aren't telling the truth. However, if you change your mind and decide later on to join again, the Air Force may be hesitant to work with you. No they don't own you either and don't listen to those on here who say they do. You will not get a Honorable , OTH or any other discharge because you aren't truly in yet. Just a generalized release from DEP.

If I buy a Straight Talk iPhone 5S from Walmart, can I use it on my Verizon plan?

It depends. If the device is LOCKED to a particular carrier, you are going to need to rectify that with Straight Talk and Apple first.Second, and this is the tough one, Verizon is NOTORIOUSLY difficult when it comes to activating devices that did not come from them or Apple directly. I had this experience when trying to activate an unlocked iPad Air with them a few years back. It took me about two weeks and ten hours on the phone to finally get them to activate the device, and that was after signing an agreement that basically told me that if I have any problems with the device or the network, I am on my own.

How much force is needed to puncture an 8 or 12 gram C02 cartridge?

I need to know how much force (Newtons, lbf, kgf does not matter) is required to puncture the tip of one of those expendable C02 cartridges. I don't have time to build a test stand (with a pin, weights etc.) Anyone have a rough estimate?

When you join the military, what happens with loans/bills/contracts?

Good news. You can keep your car. Best idea is to set up a payment plan while you are away in Basic Training. You might also speak to your bank and let them know your plans. It can sometimes reduce your monthly interest rate. As for the student loans, you can request a deferment until the end of your military contract (Military Deferment). Call and set it up with whomever your student loans are through. Keep in mind you will still be charged interest. Finally, the cell phone. Most, if not all, cell phone companies have a Military clause in their contract that will allow you to get out of the contract due to military orders, which you will have upon being accepted at MEPS. Good luck!

How do you unlock a phone that is network locked without having to buy an unlock code?

Yes, you can unlock your network locked phone without buying an unlock code. For this you have to ask your service provider to get the unlock code. If your account is in good standing and your contract period is expired then they will provide you the unlock code for free. One another method to unlock your phone for free by using software but it is not recommended as it may damage your device. Also there are some sites offering free unlock codes but there is some tricks inside the free code or they are scammers. So finally it is not free at all. However the safest method to unlock your phone is through unlock code from any trusted or reputable unlocking service like www.codes2unlock.com I had used them many time and it works each time without any issue.

Why can't you make online purchases with a child support card?

maybe because it for the support of the child and you have no business using the card for online purchases. you are one of the reasons i say their should be an accounting as to how the money is spent. the money is for the child not for you to spend on yourself. 1/4 of the grocery bill should be paid by the father since half the child is yours. 1/4 of housing cost should be paid by the father not a dime more. 1/2 of clothing and needs for child. why only 1/4 simple 2 person household you are responsible for yourself not your ex. and half that child is yours. as more people enter the household expenses should be reduced.
big time advocate of child support reform.
if this was done then all you lazy custodial parents would be forced to grow up and actually get a job. and personally any money not accounted for should automatically reduce the next months payment, maybe if this happened all you gold diggers would wake up
