Why Does Hobby Lobby And The Gop Want To Deny Birth Control To Women

What's it like to work for Hobby Lobby?

Just like any retail store it mostly depends on management. I worked for them over five years with two managers and three co-managers. The constant was the closing at an early hour and Sundays off which meant I was always home for bedtime and had weekend time with my kids. Every year we received a Christmas card which had an inspirational message and the suggestion to find a Jesus loving church near by. Most employees were Christian but not all. The single Pagan and I often chatted about religion when alone. She would change out the dust cover of her books.  I actually applied to be a co-manager and went through about a year of training to be an assistant manager or frame shop manager before I left to attend college full time. Mostly the employees were good people, but not always. I had a pair gang up on me for taking too much responsibility like I was already management. They didn't let up until I was in hysterical tears sobbing. So as everywhere else just being religious doesn't make someone a good person. We had a loyal customer base including a group of older well to do ladies who would plan their shopping trips around rain storms so they could use the excuse of being stuck in the storedue to the rain, in reality they found the rain on the metal roof coupled with the inspirational music and pretties to be soothing.

Why do some health insurances cover Viagra but not birth control?

In the USA, under the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), all insurance is supposed to cover birth control, although Hobby Lobby sued for the right to refuse to allow birth control to be covered for their employees, and they won (but they allow Viagra to be covered). The Republicans would like to get rid of the birth control provision. The reason insurance companies were willing to pay for Viagra and not birth control is actually very much related to the problem of the rape culture that our society continues to support (as evidenced by people saying that Kavanaugh’s alleged sexual abuse is just boys being boys). You see, men are encouraged to have sex in our society, but women are not supposed to. Therefore if men need a little help to have sex with Viagra, then they get it, very few questions asked and for sure, insurance covers it. But women needing birth control is considered questionable and slutty and cannot be condoned, therefore birth control will not be covered. (And this is why women who are raped are blamed for it, because according to this worldview, men can have sex but women cannot, and if she does have sex, even against her will, it’s still her fault.)It’s all about keeping women barefoot and pregnant and unable to be in control of their reproductive choices. And dependent, ever dependent, on men. It is regressive, misogynist, and a lousy way to run a society.Birth control should be available to all women, at very low cost or free of charge.

So conservatives want to stop abortion to prevent death of babies but are okay with babies dying because their parents can't afford?

Go ahead and abort your baby. You'll have to live with it forever.

And why are you asking me (or others) about people who can't afford things?
