At a family get together at my parents house my male cousin (whom is related to me by marriage, not blood) kissed me goodbye on the mouth. This was after my male cousin completely ignored my boyfriend the entire time. My boyfriend confronted my cousin and told him he was weird for doing that and asked my cousin what was wrong with him and why he wants to kiss his cousin on the mouth in front of my whole family. Okay I'm 16 and I've been dating this guy for like 7 months now and we makeout a lot. Usually we go to his house when his parents aren't home and play around on his bed and stuff. But today, I was talking to my parents in the kitchen and he came over and when he walked in the kitchen he threw himself on me, tongue and everything. I pushed him away cuz it was way too awkward but he seemed shocked because he always makes out with me in front of his parents. Am I weird for finding it totally awkward? Or is he the weird one for not finding it awkward? And any tips on being able to show my face in front of parents because I'm really embarrassed.

We are in a long distance relationship, so we've only gone on two dates for spring break while I was down where he lived. Anyway he will do TONS of stuff when we're alone, but he never kisses me or says "I love you" in front of his parents. We have never been with his friends on a date, (or anywhere) so idk how he would feel about doing that kind of stuff around them. He tells me not to do those things around his parents, so we just hug and say goodbye after he walks me to my moms car. What do you think is up? Hi Anren, There could be several reasons... Some examples: It could be that some of his friends are a bit on the "bad" side & he is afraid you will be offended by something they say or do. Maybe he is extremely insecure & jealous so he is afraid 1 of them might turn your head. There is even a possibility that he is seeing someone else & is afraid the friends could say something to out him. I know that 3rd possibility really stinks... Bottom line is you have every right in the world to just straight up ask him about it. It is a very reasonable thing for you to be wondering about, so he should give you an immediate answer. Neither of us can drive and so his parents always drop me off at my house. He wants to kiss me after he walks me up to my door but then it's awkward because his parents are just staring at us. Why does my boyfriend have trouble displaying basic pda in front of friends?
We have been together for years. When we are in public places such as stores or restaurants he is fine with pda. When we are alone, I am showered with pda. When we are in front of his friends or my friends, you would never know we are a couple. All of our friends know we are a couple, we are always together... so its hard for me to understand why he won't even hold my hand in front of them. Even if we are on a double date!
