Why is my computer deleting my files and folders randomly and making it very difficult to type a single sentence, because it keeps typing random characters on its own? How can I fix this please help?

One thing to check: Make sure someone isn’t playing a joke on you! See if there is a new wireless device plugged in to USB…I have played this trick before, get a new wireless/keyboard mouse, the USB adapter is TINY. Easy to miss, even on some laptops…After it’s plugged in, the joker can just randomly move the mouse around/hit keys and totally mess up the other person.Of course, the others advice is equally applicable, and makes sense if it is a laptop. Faulty keyboard/touchpad can do all kinds of crazy things.Obviously scanning for viruses is going to be hard if you can’t type or use the mouse properly, you may need to remove the drive to scan it.Of course, you can always get a bootable CD of some sort, boot from that, and see how the keyboard/mouse behave. That would at least let you know if it was hardware or software. But for sure, check for new USB adapters, it only takes a second.

When I delete a file on my computer, where does it go?

On a UNIX system deletion of a file does nothing more than invoke unlink() which simply decrements the file's link count. This is because what one regards as the filename is nothing more than a hard link to the actual file. There can be any number of such links, thus conserving disk space since there is but a single instance of the file content. Hard links are constrained to stay within the same filesystem and cannot be directories (except for Apple's OS X, which lifted the directory constraint to support Time Machine).Only when the link count goes to zero does the filesystem forget about that file. I say "forget about" since that is all that is certain to happen then...ongoing usage of that file copy is unaffected. That is, when there is still a process that has that file open it will merrily continue on its way...working just fine. The operating system will only free up the underlying disk space when all processes that have it attached either close it or are terminated. Because of this one sometimes sees higher usage on a filesystem than can be accounted for from examination of the directory structure! After all this the data that once comprised the file is still there…just inaccessible by ordinary humans. Since the system now considers that portion of the storage medium as available, it can be assigned to a new file or subsumed into an existing one, and thus the old data can be overwritten at any time.Even so, a ghostly vestige of the data originally in the dear-departed file may remain. Depending on the underlying physical properties of the hardware, slight variation in the electronic “read” signal can sometimes indicate both the current and the prior value present at a storage location. Of course detecting this takes specialized hardware…only available to those doing advanced forensic analysis. That is why secure erasure programs overwrite three times.

How can I delete Onedrive files from a computer without deleting my files from the cloud?

Update your Windows 10 to Fall Creators Update. You will have the most flexible options. The much requested OneDrive File On-Demand feature is now available. Now you can select to only have a placeholder in your local drive. It will be in the cloud, and download only on demand.Of course, you can also select to not sync an entire folder, so no files show up on your computer.

My girlfriend keeps on deleting history on the computer through tools:internet option...?

If it's not being done automatically, there's not likely to be a reason you will enjoy.

If you have anti-virus software on your PC, like Norton Internet Security, the History of web-sites is often stored in this software AS WELL AS IN Internet Explorer. She might not know this, and might only have deleted the IE history. So you might be able to find out what's going on that way...

How can i delete incriminating stuff from my pc?

I have to fix my computer in a week. How can I get rid of all the porn on it so the IT guy (also my best friend) doesnt see it? and no I dont have anything illegal on there

Why does my ipod touch keep deleting it's contents for no understandable reason?

I recently got a brand new ipod touch to replace my old one. Everything was working properly until about a week after I got it. When I went into music, it said "updating library, please wait", and then when it finished, it had deleted almost every song, video, and podcast. The only exception being the newly downloaded stuff.

This has happened at least six times since then. At first I assumed it was because I was trying to download more than the amount of space left on the drive, but the last two times I've had 5gb free. I can easily plug it into my computer and re-sync, but I can't exactly do that when I'm miles away.

Has anyone had this problem?

If I delete OneDrive files, will they stay on my computer?

It depends on how you have One Drive configured and how you use it. If it is set to sync then yes the files will delete from your PC as well the next time it syncs. I would also suggest you think about how you use it. One Drive is not meant to be used as a cloud based backup of all your files. It is simply a way to allow yourself access to frequently used files from other computers or to share files. I personally push the files I desire to One Drive myself and do not have the sync turned on. I do this because my My Documents folder is huge and because I don’t want a One Drive folder and I don’t want to maintain two copies of files to keep the sync from screwing things up. I also push files to One Drive from multiple computers but don’t want all the files on every computer I use. For example I don’t want to waste drive space on my gaming computer for work stuff and I don’t want my personal or intimate files on my work computer. I have used software designed to sync and have tried allowing one drive and Google Drive to sync and have never been happy with any of them. They aren’t perfect, make far too many mistakes, and if it isn’t totally obvious, I am a control freak. It is also why I hate iTunes and use other media software on my Macs. It suffers from the same limitations and the sync is terrible. That was way more information than you asked for and I apologize. I guess I needed to vent a bit. My advice. Turn off the sync and do the push/upload yourself and try to think of the amount of time you spend not as wasted, but as of saving you losing something you dearly love to save five or 10 minutes.
