Why Does My Head Shake Uncontrollably

Why does my wife's head shake?

Tremor is a symptom of another neurological disorder.

Here are the causes...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremor#Caus...

I would highlight 'essential tremor & and 'physiologic tremor'. Read both.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremor#Etio...

Could be due to hyperthyroidism in 'physiologic tremor'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperthyroi...

There is no cure for most tremors. The appropriate treatment depends on accurate diagnosis of the cause. Some tremors respond to treatment of the underlying condition.

If its hyperthyroidism, she needs an endocrinologist, if not, a neurologist.

If I'm not nervous but still my hands and head shakes uncontrollably, what's possibly happening?

A low blood sugar reaction can make you feel shaky, mixed up, unhappy, hungry, or tired. You may sweat a lot or get a headache. Your legs may shake. If your blood sugar drops lower, you can get very confused, sleepy, or irritable, or you may pass out or have a seizure.f your blood sugar drops very low (usually below 20 mg/dL) and you do not get help, you could become confused or drowsy or even lose consciousness and possibly die.Consult a Doctor right away if any of these symptoms persist

Why does my head shake uncontrollably when im stressed?

well this could be for many reasons. first of all if this bothers you I recommend seeing a psychiatrist , it could really help. one of the main reasons is that when your stressed , your heart rate goes up, as well as your blood pressure and these provide sufficient amount of O2 for your body in a stressful situation. this is the positive effect. the negative effect is that you feel your heart rate ( it's is called palpitation) a feeling which is annoying for some people. so to control these effects we administer beta blockers to relieve the bad feeling. the head-shaking phenomenon which you have asked, is probably the result of the blood pressure and heart rate on the vascular system of your head and neck since many of the blood will be pumped directly to your head and neck .

Why is my basset hound constantly shaking his head?

It's possible that something is lodged in your dog's ear(s) or he may have an ear infection.

Basset Hounds are prone to ear infections because they have such long and heavy ears which can trap and retain dirt and moisture. One of the signs of an ear infection is head shaking. There are also other signs. Here's a good article about ear infections that lists additional signs: http://www.just-basset-hounds.com/basset-hound-yeast-ear-infection.html

I would recommend that you promptly contact your veterinarian about the problem so that you can get a proper diagnosis and treatment if needed.

One of the best things that you can do to prevent ear problems in Basset Hounds is to inspect and clean the ears at least once per week. Here's a good article about Basset Hound ear care: http://www.just-basset-hounds.com/basset-hound-ear-care.html

Anxiety head shakes what can I do?

This is totally normal, I do this too, especially when doing public speaking.

Learning a good breathing technique that works for you is so essential!! Something like the 4-7-8 breathing technique would do you wonders. Learn it if you are open to it.

Breath in through your nose (deep into your belly) for 4 counts, then hold it for 7 counts, then release it slowly over 8 counts. Do a few of these and you will be fine.

By the way, not many people notice the shaking. I have done a few polls after classes!!!

Good luck, and I feel for you, I really do!

Why does my head shake sometimes involuntarily when I bite vigorously?

I have noticed this happening with many people and animals too when taking a large bite of something, and it is definitely involuntary. I don’t think most people even notice it when it occurs with themselves. It happens when the jaw is open wide to take a large bite of something resulting in the head quickly moving back and forth while biting down, as if to fit the food into the mouth more easily, get a deeper bite, or maybe even prevent the food from getting away. Here is a clear and recent example I noticed of this happening in a random video I was watching at time 11:46:

Dogs head shaking, whats wrong?

How long ago did she have her puppies? Is she still nursing? Does she have any other muscles messing up like her legs? She could be having a seizure or if the puppies are still nursing she could be losing to much calcium (can be deadly if not taken care of). You need to contact your vet or local emergency clinic right away.
