Why Does My Internet Connection Slows Down/ Drops When Streaming Videos On Any Site

Why does my internet (video buffering) slows down when I connect my bluetooth speakers?

If we discuss simply Bluetooth speakers, they are connected through the electro magnetic waves generated from which u are operating the speakers. And wi-fi or network you are connected is also in the form of electromagnetic waves and there will be the interference between the those two waves which are omitting from different sources at almost similar band width and frequency. This is your Video buffers. This Question is similar to the Tv and a cell phone. When we are watching the Tv suddenly phone rings than there will be a disturbance in the picture you are Watching. It means communication is done almost at similar frequency.

Why does streaming slow down internet?

Check for applications that hog bandwidthLive streaming wouldn't just slow down your internet. Any app that does download/upload would slow down your internet. Check if some application on your system that's hogging your internet. If you are doing the live encoding and streaming, check what live streaming server you are using and if it supports Adaptive bitrate and compression. You should use a reputed live streaming server like Livebox or Wowza which is best suited to reduce the amount of bandwidth used during streaming.Check your networkIs your provider throttling your bandwidth based on the application that you use? If that's the case, it can definitely affect your streaming quality and cause buffering plus slow down other applications.Check your streaming encoderAre you live streaming from your own system? If so, use a good encoder like VMix or Wirecast which does good compression of your live streams.Check your live streaming serverGenerally, when you do live video streaming, remove all other bandwidth hogging apps from your system and use a dedicated system for live streaming. If that is hard,it's even better is to use a server with in-built playout like Livebox so that you don't need to use your PC. It won't use any resources on your PC. The server itself will self stream content from anywhere automatically.

Does seeding torrent files slows down my internet connection?

yes it does. more so than downloading in most cases. this is because seeding uses your upload bandwidth which is usually a lot less than your download bandwidth.

dsl = 5mbit download 768kbit upload

cable = 6-10mbit download 256-512kbit upload

so if you are uploading at 50kbyte (around 400kbit) you are using more or half of your bandwidth cause all internet speed on the network to slow down greatly.

Does connecting your router to a VPN slow down your internet speed?

Yes, using a VPN means slown down your speed, because VPN encrypts your traffic. That's your speed can't be the same as without VPN.

Why does Internet connection suddenly slow when airplanes fly overhead?

Try setting your WiFi to a different channel, sounds like you have interference. You'll need to check your router docs to figure this out, but it will be under the wireless settings section. It's worth a try. MAke sure you're also using WPA with a passphrase to lock-down your network.

Live stream on internet connection 512 Kbps?

a full live stream at only 0.5mbps - all I can say is forget it. You need to see if you can get a faster connection somehow. We're on 2mbps here in a rural area of England and even that struggles sometimes with streaming.

Also if your internet is ADSL you might find trying to watch it late at night or early morning might be better, as there will be less people on at those times (plus ensure you only have one device on the internet - don't share it with other things like phones/laptops/etc as that slows it down more), but really 0.5mbps is way too slow for any type of tv channel streaming, you should be fine for radio though as long as you only listen to one station at a time.

Why does my internet slow down during the evening?

According to Microsoft, “local Internet congestion can result in slower-than-normal connection speeds.” When many people are online at the same time, Internet speeds will slow down for those with cable Internet. That’s because when you’re connected with cable, you share a connection with your neighbors. When multiple homes are logged on at the same time, they share bandwidth and speed is reduced.Tasks that require high bandwidth, such as streaming movies, uploading photos or downloading music, are made nearly impossible.Broadband speeds were studied in homes in the United Kingdom. The study found that between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., download speeds decreased by an average of 35%The peak Internet times might vary for your home, depending on where you live, but the results are still the same – delayed Internet.

Ok i have a downloading problem, my internet connects at 32.2kbps usually, but when downloading a file only 2k

It's Got To Do With You ISP (Internet Service Provider)

Firstly, No Form Of Connection Is Constant, It All Depends On what Is Happening At Your Local Server, Your Main Server Of Your ISP And The Site You've Contacted.

I have the Exact Same Problem And I'm On Broardband. No matter what Site I'm At When I Download Something It Starts Very Fast And Then Drops Quickly Down To from 2.8-15KBps.
(And That's Broardband)

You'll Notice (might Have Already) That When Your Just Navigating To A Page Or Just Streaming radio Or Video Of A Website That It Will Never Go That Slow, You'll Probably Get Your Max of 4 kBps.

My Best Guess Is That The ISP Does This To Curb Grattuitous Downloading On No MB Limit Accounts Or Illegal Downloading Of Movies Etc.

Say Someone was Sending You A Movie Bootleg, It Might Take You 3-5 Days To Get It And Unless You have A Good Program That Picks It Up Again Everytime your Service Drops Momentarily, It'll Be Lost, Also If The Cops or Relevent Task Force Want To Track you Down, They have A Much Better Chance Of Doing It Over 3-6 Days Then in Aporox. 2 (if You Were Constantly Downloading At 32.2 kbps = 4kBps)

All Types Of internet Connections Are Basically False Advertising. Your's Says 32.2 kbps (= 4kBps) That's The Maximum That Can "Technically" Come Into Your Computer In One Second Through Your Modem. You'll Never Get The Max.
BUT THE FACT THAT YOUR GETTING 2-3kBps IS NORMAL EVEN GOOD.

Aswell, Don't think If You Switch To Broadband/DSL Your Going To Get More Than An Average of 8-15 Kbps for Downloading.
My Status Window after I Logon On With My ISP say's I'm connected At 100 Mbps (100,000,000 bits per second - Divide that by 8 for the Bytes per second and you get 12,500kBps
(12.5 MB Per second) I Don't Think So. That's Just The Most That Can Come Trough My LAN cable Into My LAN Port in One Second (My Bloody Modem (DSL) Isn't Even Capable Of Putting That Into The Cable) (And My Service Contract Is For 512 kBps)

This Backs up What I Was Saying Before it's The Tecnical & Legal Setup Of The Area Your In (I'm In A Muslim Country And It's abysmal With Every ISP)

Don't know About The Performance On Cable /Pay T.V. ISP's

Hope This helps

Why am I getting 1Mbps streaming with a 10Mbps internet speed?

I don't think I'm getting my point across...
I have a 10 Mbps (1.25 MB) internet speed.
In the "stats for nerds" on a YouTube player it shows I'm maxing out around 1500 kbps.
1500 kbps = 0.1831055 MB
Significantly slower than what it should be.

Also, I have DSL. Not cable. I can DL torrents at the full 1.25 MB but not videos.

This problem is relatively new. Its been slow for about 2 weeks now. I assumed it was YouTube doing as they do... screwing things up.

Does Netflix slow down your internet?

It uses your Internet. So if there is something else on your home network (LAN) that is also trying to access the Internet, there are now 2 things attempting to use that one “pipeline”.Water gets used a lot as a metaphor and to make comparisons to networking. In this case, there is a halfway decent analogy. Imagine trying to take a shower while your dishwasher, laundry washer are running. You are attempting to get a satisfying amount of hot water for your bathing, while both of those machines are also attempting to get hot water. The hot water heater can only provide so much “new” hot water and there are 3 current users of it connected. Once the tank is empty (provided your heater has/uses a tank) the output of the heater will be going to those 3 users. Turn off the dishwasher, and you will be then splitting the 1/3 it was getting with the washing machine. When the washer goes into a spin (and is no longer using hot water) you are now getting all of the hot water “bandwidth” to yourself. But then there’s the really important question, why are your showers so long?
